  • damn, these fellows are jammin!!

  • Great version.

  • If you want to see and hear the original rock guitarist that played the distortion licks on this song 1956.(covered by this group and others).Search-Paul Burlison..Go down to-Rock and Roll Trio-Part Three..second song..then go to the original cut in 1956..Johnny Burnette..Train Kept Rollin

  • The lead player gets excellent tone from that broadcaster. I'd like to know what his fx chain is.

  • @Barnekkid

i think the lead player is using a "squire"....a single pickup telecaster.like beck used back in the day..

    killer tone!

  • @mrjonrickly You mean "Esquire." That name was changed (around 1951 or so) to "Broadcaster" due to a marketing conflict with Gretsch guitars. Been playing for over forty years, I know what I'm talking about. Yeah, I'm old. I was there "back in the day."

  • @Barnekkid you are right about the name "esquier"...but "broadcaster" was the name first , then changed to "telecaster" around '51' because gretch had a drum set of the same name..

but the "esquire" was the single pickup version of the tele..which jeff beck played in "the yardbirds"..as does the lead player in "the RaveUps". these guys know how to do it right.

and i too have been playing for 40 years,,,gasp.

  • Bravo Bravo Just great

  • kick ass version go go go !!!

  • so. anybody can tell those women out?

    they're alive huh?

im a journalist and id like to take a professional advantage on them

  • love those go go girls, these guys rip. excellent version

  • great tribute, nailed the vibe and sound

  • HEE HA YOU GUYS ROCK! LOVE the CHICKS!

  • @mutleyrj bullshit. these guys rock !!!!!!!!!!!! they have the yardbirds version down, but make it their own. the guitarist has that angry beck tone. eat your heart out joe perry

  • @rorygg1

    you got that right!!

the guitar players tone was right on....not to mention his licks!

these guys did their homework well indeed!

  • lets rockin' n' roll girls =]

  • The girls were great dancers, but were too distracting to watch these guys knock that one out of the park. Killer tone from that guitarist-very nice guys.

  • perfect!!

    great job guys...

    i watch this often...

    can't find "i'm a man" though...

  • Su questo pezzo si basano le fondamenta sulle quali decollera il dirigibile....

  • ossia??

  • May I recommend the version of Empty Trash ... I like it much more :) (probably everyone's gonna hate me for that ... ...)

  • guns n' roses version sucks

  • Amen.

  • The Motorhead version is teh awesome

  • Great cover. Love the Yardbirds version as well. Aerosmith's cover just plods along.

  • The version that the Yardbirds and Aerosmith both cover is the Johnny Burnette Trio version from 1956. They were one of the first Rockabilly bands, and possibly the best Rockabilly band ever. Legendary session guitarist was the first to use distorted guitar-and their version smokes both Aerosmith and the Yardbirds in my opinion. Look it up on YouTube.

  • I know all about Johnny Burnette, but thanks anyway.

  • Tiny Bradshaw did the song first.

  • He did it first yes, but not as a Rock and Roll song. The Yardbirds, Aerosmith are clearly doing the Johnny Burnette Rockabilly version was the point I was trying to make. Just shows how American Rockabilly influenced the kids over in England. ( but we all know it was Rockabilly that brought The Beatles together anyway)

  • buen cover!! de los yardbirds!!!

pero ellos ya estan un poco viejos o no.

Ah por cierto que Buenas las bailarinas!!

  • who sings the original original song?

  • Johnny Burnette

  • I can understand why you'd think that, but the guy who wrote it was a guy named Tiny Bradshaw. He recorded it in 1951. Johnny Burnette covered it in 1956.

  • Thanks, didn't know that, I'll look for more on Tiny Bradshaw.

  • The Aerosmith cover is the best if you ask me.

  • That kicks major ass Just like the Yardbirds much better than Aerosmith

  • Plus they have Go-Go Girls!

  • great and brilliant sound. beats aeroshits lame ass version. These guys have walked the walk, and the googo crowd will love this

  • i know the guitarist

  • BRILLIANT!

  • All hail the Rave ups

    One word EXCELLENT

  • fucking bad ass.

  • This is GREAT! Makes me proud of my generation!

  • me too - superb cover

  • This is the original, not a cover.

  • LOL.

Rave ups are a cover band. Pretty good one.

I've never seen them before, thought they'd be young'uns Oh well. They're almost as old as the Yardbirds.:)

  • This is great. Really captures music I liked in the sixties. Sixties British Rock is great.

  • Great song, solid groove, and people actually having fun onstage; what a concept.

  • dancers are outtta sight!!!!

  • History repeats itself, same song, same verse. RaveUps singer starts too early into the verse "We made a stop, at Albuquerque ...'' (albeit at a different place in the song) just like Keith Relf did at the Yardbirds' Anderson Theatre show in 1968.

  • A great tribute to the Yardbirds.

I saw the Yardbird piss off the Beachboys because they were too good. Made the BB's, who were tye headliners, look like amateurs in 1965. Raveups capture that energy and talent.

  • Awesome!
