I am from the Seychelles (Seychelloise) and I am very proud of my beautiful islands. I agree with my countryfolk who said that it would be great if reporters would make an effort to pronounce names correctly. Incidentally, we are Seychellois or Seychelloise (female) and not Seychellians as some people call us :)

Nope, we are called Seychellois. Ladies are called Seychelloise.

You should be proud, and particularly because you haven't made it a tourist machine yet (like Mauritius and Maldives)!

Indeed am very proud to come from such a beautiful part of the world :) We do have tourists, but not to a great extents and we islanders know many beautiful places that we can escape to which are unknown to visitors :))

oh what an awesome area. maybe i can go there and work with the youth of the island. what do you think that they need help with? education, computers, jobs training, a recreation type of fun place, or what?

We just came back. It is very nice. THe water is not as clear during the winter due to runoff after storms. Seychelles needs to crack down on the locals though. Many are ruining the island of Mahe with their garbage and drinking

I am from the Seychelles and it is the most beautifull country I have ever seen.

But I wish the reporters reporting on the country would try to get the pronunciation of the name of the country right, it would show a little more respect for the people living there.
