When Nate (my old bird) was on my shoulder, he would back up, put his but in the air and poop (when he had too poop). We think he was just being nice to us...
She is so sweet! I just got a pineapple GCC and she loves being on my shoulder so much that I'm not sure if she'd like coming down to learn tricks. :P What treats are you giving her in this video?
@fuzzyferretluver I am giving him safflower seeds. I've recently switched over to bits of almond slices because I can ration out how much of the treat I'd like to give him. It's definitely a good idea to teach them step up and of course being on your hand. I put my two on my shoulder all of the time - after all, it is easier to do stuff when my hands are not occupied! - but my new GCC likes to nip a little too hard sometimes so she stays on my hand whenever we are together.
@TaylorHetherington yeah, I've been told I am goofy with my birds. thank you! I don't just post my videos for people who like birds; they are also uploaded to get people to like birds. ;)
How did you teach her to fetch? Usually my conure (Bandit) picks up tricks really quickly but it's like trying to get a wall to listen to you when I teach him fetch haha. He knows how to bowl, wave, high five, kiss, come, play dead, and turn around.
@heymissyk I wish I could teach my GC to play dead! How did you manage to do that? In teaching her how to fetch I put the thing that she is fetching on the ground.. then in my hand..then on the ground..then in my hand. She usually ifgures out what she has to do but if she doesn't I put the toy in my hand (from the ground) and click and give her a treat.. then put back on the ground.
@lostintravise Thanks! I'll try that. And I taught him by first getting him comfortable laying on his back. There's a youtube video called "Demonstrating Bird On Back". Just follow her instructions and use lots of reward. His cue is me pointing my finger at him like a gun and saying "Bang!". Then I'd flip him on his back, and reward him. He learned that laying on his back means reward. So whenever I "shoot" him while he's on my desk, he'll roll over and play dead!
@KutWrite with clicker training a lot can be done! These creatures are so smart.. My GC is relatively quiet. She can be loud and talkative but for the most part she is pretty quiet. Her name is Honey :)
What do you feed him as a reward, and whar is clicker training exactly?

@Epiphany347 I feed him either safflower seeds or small pieces of almond. :)

@SecondCocacola Honey does that to me as well! Some birds just go farther out of their way to not "soil" their perch.. so to speak. We are lucky :)

@TaylorHetherington It's not that uncommon to DNA test your birds to learn the sex.

I have a smart Pineapple named Jasper. You showed me I can probably train him to do some of these things (he does similar stuff by himself).
He talks up a storm - does yours, too?
You might like the bird vids on my channel.
Thanks for sharing!
Dan
PS What is your bird's name?
