  • i gotta get me the cd again i accidently stept on it when i got a bit too drunk :-(

  • Deadbirdsings, you're a wanner who wants castrating. I bet you've got a winger t shirt like that fuck in beavis and butthead. Get an education and grow a brain!

  • @ deadbirdsings

It took you two years to think of that retort? I am in awe of your rhetorical competence.

  • Let's face it: the underground music from the late 70s/early 80s Biafra was a part of has become every bit as fossilized and as much of an empty cliche as 70s stadium rock. Do we really need another Ramones clone? Another anarcho-punk band? Another tattooed, pierced goth chick with purple hair? "Underground rock" was already stagnant when Nirvana rolled around, and 20+ years has done nothing to improve the situation. Instead of hearing something "new," I'd welcome something that was merely good.

  • I'd sooner listen to Ted Nugent or AC/DC than to 90 per cent of the stuff Biafra has released through his label in the last 20 years.

  • This isn't funny, clever, or incisive, it's just boring. I had to struggle through the last few minutes. I think Biafra lost his knack for satire after Plastic Surgery Disasters.

  • PROBABLY THE BEST LARD EVER LOVE,WILLIAM "THE JOKER"

  • LOVE THE COMENT BIGGIE I HAVE A FEVER AND THE ONLY PRTESCRIPTION IS MORE COWBELL NICE SONG ENDING TOO LOVE THAT SHYTE!!!!!!!!!!1

  • GO JELLO BIAFRA THIS IS SO FUNNY I LOVE LARD WHO IS ON DRUMS THIS WAS AFTER JEFF WARDS TRAGIC SUICIDE RIP JEFF WARD THIS SO ACDC MIMIC LOVE IT LOVE,WILLIAM "THE JOKER"

  • I have a fever... and the only cure... is MORE COWBELL.

  • This song is fucking annoying... which is exactly why it's fucking genius!

  • @MrTrty5 - It wouldn't be hard to lampoon punk and its offshoots the way this does 70s stadium rock. It'd probably be funnier too, and more original.

  • @deadbirdsings Honestly, I think every bit of this song is a meant to be a jab at the whole genre, for better or for worse. Sure it's annoying, but that's probably the point. It's an angry jab, that's all. I don't count on Jello for being a master of subtlety. And you could lampoon Punk and it's offshoots, but so what? That's not the point. Interjecting your opinion like this only strikes me as irritating, but maybe that's what your going for.

  • ahahahhahahaha this song speakes ma mind

  • all hail the power of lard <3

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • 70s rock - lived there, survived that.

  • They justified the title by making a shitty 70's rock song with all the cliches thrown in that most groups still do today. FUCK 70's ROCK, shove it in a hole and bury it. Hail Jello!

  • @ndhudecz That's because they aren't a rock group ... but i'm sure you've heard of the vocalists band, The Dead Kennedys! this song is more satire than anything mate

  • shut the fuck up people.

jello biafra most likely doesn't hate 70's rock......

stop bitch fighting people 70's rock & punk are both fucking awesome.

most of the punk artists were influenced by 70's rock anyways so you can't bash it.

can't you guys stop being tight asses and just enjoy the fucking song and appreciate both kinds of music.

you can still be punk as fuck and listen to everything from elvis presley to fucking pantera

  • @MyDookieGoesKerplunk I personaly like 70's rock. i was just messing around whit the Troll.

  • @ndhudecz Why do you keep commenting on this song instead of listening to your beloved 70's rock bands? is it that 70s rock isen't as good as you really think and to prove to yourself that they still are good you have to keep commenting on songs to convince YOURSELF that you love it?

  • @MrSpiderRoos shut the hell up,Mr spider.Mr Spider,that's funny..

  • vocalist reminds me of steve sylvester (Death SS)

  • This seems like an equal jab at 80s rock as well. Very good though.

  • Extrem geiles Lied!!!!

  • Haha I love how they made it sound so much like AC/DC.

  • @minchums17 and every ac/dc song sounds EXACTLY the same XD

  • i remember this. i can see why jello biafra is singing like that.

  • I really grown to like this group..

  • @EmperorMarcusNovius the guitar sounds a bit like freebird too

  • @EmperorMarcusNovius i think they do have satire and irony....because comedy dave is called comedy meaning he is meant to be funny but is not funny........he's as about as funny as wiping your arse and find blood on the paper.

  • I guess the joke was made in the first 30 seconds...

  • @RikFlick - Exactly. It didn't need to go on for 7 minutes, especially since the joke wasn't all that funny in the first place.

  • nothing like a big blue crotch staring you in the face and Jello Biafra singin

  • 70's rock is atrocious, this song is dead on.

  • Oh... My... God...

This is the most obnoxious thing I've heard, this year... I remember loving LARD, years ago... Thanks for posting this shit haha "Fantastic."

  • Will all of you stop arguying at listen to this lovely song!! Please?

  • cccvvc

  • He's obviously mocking ac/dc, which IMO is the shittiest band ever.

  • @EvilTiesFilms Nah, I think he had a lot of bands in mind. They're were quite a few shitty bands in the 70's, like Kiss.

  • This is hilarious.

  • JELLO!

  • only song i never liked by jello

    what's wrong with 70's rock?

but if ALL they meant by this song was the trends should die, then by all means go ahead, but 60's, 70's, 80's, and a bit of the 90's is when music was real

now it's a business to appeal to the masses

  • @theinfectiondrummer Jello is a fan of Black Sabbath and The Stooges and other 70s rock bands, but he hates the attitude that 70s rock had before punk came along.

  • @crowbarftw well when i said never liked i meant the message

and well yeah the attitude was bad, if that's all he's mocking then go for it, but not the music i'm saying

  • hey pink floyd kicks ass, when stoned

  • The best parody of all time.

  • i love 70's music black sabbath led zeppilin and the doors last years also pink floyd i'll admit the alot of 70's rock sucks 50's 60's and 80's punk is where it's at

  • LMAO! Jello is funny as fuck!

  • rock must die :)

  • @fafacupid are you kidding me? Rock is the best thing that has ever happened to music. Screw pop/rap.

  • @fafacupid - Yeah!

  • Jello NEVER tries to sell snake oil (as the song goes on the Mojo Nixon collaberation)... just moving on and NEVER re-hashing.... The best Front man EVER...up there with Joey Ramone, outside of the UK...

    10/10 **********

  • @snj68 Never rehashing, huh? Is that why he's done 5 different versions of California Uber Alles? I love Jello, but you can't argue this fact.

  • @CretinWithACause *holds hands up*..lol

You got me there... I was pretty drunk while blasting the tunes...

A few different versions of holiday in Cambodia too and buzzbomb, kill the poor..to name a few :)

  • @snj68 your comment brings a tear to my eye!

  • Well... this song seems to speak of a different thing when concerning 70s rock. For me, the 70s was the GOOD bit of Genesis, Pink Floyd when they still were interesting, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf Generator at their best, Jethro Tull at their best, ELP at their best, Gryphon... man, the first half of 70s was one of the most creative periods in rock music, it all pretty much WAS done by then.

  • @Hyardacil "the 70s was the GOOD bit of Genesis, Pink Floyd when they still were interesting, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf Generator at their best, Jethro Tull at their best"

    beard-wearing, dad rock ?

  • @sclapione You obviously have little knowledge on progressive rock.

  • What are sales of CD's? Pink Floyd is okay but I'm not a big fan/,y son's metal band is doing well and sounding great...What ever the music always stay focus......Rock On.......................

  • I just got this EP last week now i have all the Lard CD's, lets just hope this rumored new album does happen.

  • OK JELLO U CAN PAY krokus now for stealing 'playin the outlaw'

  • Even though I do not agree with the point of view of the song, I just can't stop listening it.

  • Great song, clever lyrics, but LONG LIVE CLASSIC ROCK.

  • classic rock was bullshit. All these overblown "rock stars", so fucking pompous. It was a dishust over the big "rock gods" of teh day that spawned the punk movement in the first place. It was a backlash.

  • @kelsmart - The conceit of punk and "underground" musicians is that they were ever any different.

  • i blame the god awful music industry for stifling the new and remarketing the old. over and over and fucking over again.

everytime the radio gets played in the uk it could be any pop song from the last 30 years and any rock song from the last 40.

    only shitter.

pirate the fuck out of it i say because the talents are earning a good living doing it for the love of it and the fucking parasites will soon fuck off back to banking or advertising or wherever the fuck these creatures get spawned.

  • Burn baby! ha ha ha

Greatest song of Lard. Cheers from Argentina

  • just another stupid punk-hate-song, with stupid lyrics as well, against good old rock music.

Jello Biafra - what a dork ! back off !

  • this sounds like 70's rock and a touch of 80's

  • jello biafra is a punk god!!

  • please dude

  • Disagreed

  • Oh dear god.

Tool = most aptly named band ever.

  • This is really hillarious. Thanks alot, this made my day

  • This must be one of the most cleverest songs ever made. The insults are so bitter and accurate, that it actually hurts. They play all that 70s rock music would contain. Is the singer trying to imitate Bon Scott or what? Cowbell... pff... Though it seems like they are claiming that 70s were better than 80s. I personally think that everything were much better before 2000. Even now, when i have spent almost 10 years in 20th century. Im begining to think that even 90s were not so bad afterall.

  • late 80s/late 90s would be my fave period for music (too young to remember it though)

70s rock has its moments but this song owns.

  • thanks for posting the lyrics- I couldn't find them anywhere else!

  • Comment removed

  • I was on a long road trip recently without any of my own music. Having to cross my fingers for a "classic rock" station to pop up and provide something halfway listenable reminded me of this song.

  • Didn't DK start in 79?

  • 78ish.

They began to get noticed in 79.

  • @sirjimbothefirst Is DK 70ths rock?

  • If you any of you idiots knew about DK you would know how much Jello used satire/irony/sarcasm in his lyrics- this song they just happened to extend that past the lyrics and into the music.

  • This song makes always me laugh. 70s Rock Must Die - played as 70s rock.

  • lard is dead but 70s rock will never die

  • lard is not dead, but your word stinky like if they are :P haha

go listen to that farty old dicky rock'n'roll and leave lard live :P

  • epic comment fail.

  • Christ, the chorus sounds straight up AC/DC. The cowbell, stomping on the 1 and 3, one note bass, arena rock breakdown out of the guitar solo... it's bloody brilliant.

You could play this at any drunk redneck gathering, and I guarantee people would be banging heads to it, reminiscing about how great these guys were in concert when they opened for Zebra or Pat Travers.

  • You're supposed to laugh...how can you not? Hell, even Jello knows he can't sing. Have you heard the Dead Kennedys? The release date on this was 2000, long after the DK's break up, by the way. It's FAR from today's music. Although, everything on the radio or MTV is sell-out crap now too.

  • hahahah you suck.

  • I think peaople should just accept the fact now and in the 70 80s with the hits comes a huge list of shit, every artist is only good for lor like 2 maybe 3 songs i mean dont you guys remember the shit they used to play ? Shit now sucks just as bad, I mean come on 70s had songs called push push in the bush? you know its true.

  • What the fuck are you talking about.

  • hhahahahahaha

who is a sell out? uhauahuehp

    auhfeau

    hauehuaehueaheuh

    and

    I LIKE SHORT SONGS!

  • @ndhudecz So OUR music sold out, but YOUR classic music didn't? Is that why Jello and these guys have there own label, and your bands are doing commercials for cars and womens hygiene products? Pfft! Go listen to some hair metal, douchebag.

  • @DontEatEggs666 hey queer bate,do you know how much they get for commercials? What a complete moron, you have surpassed you're stupidity. You go listen to you;re precious Boy Bands and Britney Spears pop music.666 ,numbers for imbecile.Hahahahahahaha

  • @ndhudecz You just proved my point that your bands are sell outs without even knowing it. Lmao Are all Kiss fans this stupid?

  • @DontEatEggs666 are you 5 years old and stupid? Who in their freaking right would turn down millions of dollars.Sorry sir I don't want 50 million I not going o be a sell out.God you're an idiot. Which proves my point...

  • @DontEatEggs666 are you 5 years old and stupid? Who in their freaking right would turn down millions of dollars.Sorry sir I don't want 50 million I not going o be a sell out.God you're an idiot. Which proves my point.

  • @ndhudecz The person that would turn down the millions of dollars is somebody who isn't a sell out. You said these bands were sellouts, which I said they weren't because they didn't even accept a major record contract (yes they were offered). I said you're bands were sellouts because they sold their music and shit to commercials to make a buck of it (making them a sellout) and you said "you know how much they get for those commmercials?" So you proved that they were sellouts, dumbass.

  • @DontEatEggs666 these bands are legends this band ,Lard or whatever the stupid name is will never get too that status.Go listen to you're Nsync or you're Rap..dumb arse..

  • @ndhudecz I hate Nsync. Nothing makes them legendary, seeing how their music died and turned corporate, while punk rock is still underground and going. This band isn't the main attraction, the singer was in the Dead Kennedy's which is more legendary than anybody you listen too.

  • @DontEatEggs666 tell me who do think I listen too, then I'll tell if you're are right.I played in bands across the states...

  • @ndhudecz Well, seeing how hard you defend 70's rock bands, I'd say ACDC, Kiss and 80's hair metal. ...and probably some other stuff I never heard of.

  • @DontEatEggs666 no hair metal,no AC/DC.Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple,Montrose,Trapeze,Mountain,Robin Trower,Pink Floyd,Hendrix,Doobie Bros.,Allman Bros,Eric Clapton,Yes,Black Sabbath,Bad Company,Uriah Heap,Foghat,Nazareth song Hair of the Dog,I'm not saying some of the heavy metal bands sound bad,they don't.I like Rob Zombie American witch,Dream Theater,REM,jazz music.I play drums so like to hear good jazz drummers,Dave Weckle,Steve Gadd etc...

  • @ndhudecz Well I guess that's a better list than mos people would make. lol

  • @DontEatEggs666 their actually all kinds of great band out there and made it big time, all I know I'm not one of them.Oh Well!!!!!

  • @ndhudecz Bill Hicks used to say: "you do a commercial you're off the artistic roll call forever! You're just another whore at the capitalist gang-bang!" If they dont make that much money why do they do it? Artists make art...not commercials!

  • @ndhudecz You're obviously not looking too hard for good music and are settling for what's force-fed to you by the radio and tv. Argument null and void.

  • @ndhudecz THIS is sell out junk?? These guys aren't exactly famous! They don't make as much money as the famous 70s rock bands did. I dunno how you arrived at the conclusion that Lard are 'sell outs', when they wrote anti-establishment, anti-commercial songs while a lot of the 70s rock bands wrote generic songs about parties and girls. I think you're really marginalising your music tastes if you just settle for 'talented' musicians.

  • My god, you actually are retarded!

  • @ndhudecz

    Dude are you O.K. ?

Or has Pink Floyd just completely drained your capacity for reason?

  • @ndhudecz are you a performance artist

  • Some nice use of google there asswipe.

That doesn't actually prove to me that you know what satire is.

    And you STILL aren't 53.

  • Don't you understand satire?

And there's no way you are 53 like it says on your profile.

  • Yes funny if you're in the right place in your life!We all have our day in the sun /15 minutes of fame. But it's good to look both ways before you cross the street,if you know what I mean!

  • ahahhaha yes i fuckin hate classic rock.

  • Glad to hear it. ;)

  • I can see why someone who thinks that "gay" is a good insult might be offended by a song making fun of 70's rock... Dinosaurs must stick together, after all.

  • @Huggles4Everyone - You're a gaylord.

  • This is a parody.

Everything about this song, apart from the singer's obvious loathing of cockrock, is not meant to be taken seriously. The singing is meant to sound OTT, and whilst Lard were quite simple in the first place, the riff in this song is intentionally cliched.

And no Jello Biafra isn't gay.

And no this song is awesome.

  • strange aint it that Jello and lard made this track when Al Jourgensen Ministry made a album of 70s rock covers with songs by Rolling Stones, The Doors, ZZ Top, T.Rex, Deep Purple, Mountain, Golden Earring,

  • First of all, it's Al's decision to cover those songs, not Jello's. Ministry is Al's band, Lard is Jello's, with Al as the musical contributor. Al is independent from Jello as an artist. So you saying Al's covers album contradicts ONE Jello song, therefore it is strange?

Plus virtually all the covered songs are BEFORE the 70s rock movement. Heck, half the songs weren't even released in the 70s!

  • @ibanezmancons - I think it's strange, unless Jourgensen was purely a musician-for-hire and not a creative collaborator (which I doubt was the case).

  • worse than weird AL. this sucks!

  • COWBELL RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny---much as I appreciate the sentiment, everything Jello & Co. are spoofing is everything I REALLY LIKE about 70s rock!

  • god jul

  • haha, tosk

  • god jul

  • I doubt that even Christopher Walken would ask for "more cowbell" on this one!

    Thanks for the info.

2000? Sheesh! This one totally 'fell between the cracks' for me.

  • Haha! Hey no problem buddy ;)

  • First!

    Say? Is this brand new?

  • No it came out in 2000! Made about the same time as Pure Chewing Satisfaction, kept in the closet until it got chopped and mixed, by then it had become a favourite of the Ministry and Lard gang and all those who worked on it, so they made it into an EP.

  • supposedly lard is going to do one more album now that ministry is "retired". i doubt ministry is gone, but i read something where al jourgensen said he was gonna do one more record with jello after the last ministry tour.

  • We've finally been given a date for the new Lard album - September somtime, which is more than we ever got before. Earliest mention of the third full length Lard album was way back in 2004 in an interview with Al about Houses of the Mole.
