  • Just curious can you put vaseline instead of lube and can you make a unresponsive into a responsive using vaseline or lube?

  • @sskeyblade Yes, vaseline usually works well and it should make an unresponsive yoyo responsive.

  • Thanx just 1 more question which yoyo do I use for tricks more

  • @DigitalAgeStudios Most of the time when I am leraning new tricks I use the Luminator setup according to the Unresponsive kit. This makes the yoyo unresponsive so it is easier to learn tricks.

  • Hey just asking I started watching these videos because I had NED come to our school and wanted to learn tricks. Tell me can the boomerang do these tricks or is the Cosmic Spin 2 better at them cause im gatting the Cosmic spin 2 and want to know which one to fool around with and which one to do tricks with.

  • @DigitalAgeStudios The Cosmic Spin Yoyo is roughly equivalent to the Luminator which we use to show off all our String Tricks. The Boomerang is very much like the Originator which we use for all our beginner tricks. If you are getting into string tricks like the Man on the Flying Trapeze, then the Cosmic Spin 2 wil be much better.

  • What type of yoyo did u use in this video

  • @Yoyobros13579 The Luminator by Peter Fish. You can get them on YoTricks.

  • I'm brand new to yo-yoing, this is the first mount I'm attempting to learn and I'm having a lot of trouble. After about two hours of play I'm a little embarrassed to admit I can only get it to mount about 25% of the time, and it doesn't continue to sleep for very long even if I'm successful. I'm using a yomega fireball. My question is; does the yo-yo make that much of a difference? or am i just not cut out for this?

  • @mimpforlife If you are doing this well with a fireball after only 2 hours I would say that you are doing quite well. The fireball is not suited to this trick, though it can do it. I would recommend getting a wider yoyo like the Luminator we use in this video as it will make the trick much easier. Also, instead of learning this mount first I would go and watch our video where we teach the brain-scrambler. In that video we teach the front mount which is much easier as an entry to string tricks.

  • Hi, I was just wondering if this trick only works for responsive yo yos? I have a Dark Magic II and I'm not sure how to return the yo yo when I have the unresponsive bearing in it. Of course I can return it with the responsive bearing.....just wondering if there's a special bind or something I can do when my yoyo is unresponsive to help return it from a trapeze?

  • @snyperbob You can do a bind to complete this trick. Do a youtube search for:

learn how to bind a yoyo

and you should find our video about binding. This will show you what you need to know. We have several binds we demonstrate, and one of them can be done right from the trapeze.

  • @yotricks Thanks I'll check that video out. I came across a different video by someone else that shows a bind called: "sidestyle backspin bind". I can flip the trapeze over into that bind and that works. I'll check out your video. Thank you

  • my yo yo is a pocket pro zombie it is very resonseve so it lands on the trapez but then itfly back up and gets a knot in the yo yo bearing what yoyo is unresonseve?

  • @jbverhines There are a number of reasons the yoyo may be flying back up and getting a knot... it is hard to say what the exact problem is. If I were you I would attempt to learn the brain-scrambler trick (do a search for this trick on YouTube) and see if the same thing happens. If so you may need to try a different yoyo, or replace the string.

On our YouTube channel we have a video called "What is Unresponsive Yoyoing?", check it out and that should tell you what it is.

  • im making my first youtube vid and i was wandering if you could watch, subscribe and like just to get me started.

    Faithfully, R2Dieter

  • hi, whenever i get the yoyo on the string and put my hands next to each other the strings twist together. :(

    Any tips?

  • @BuNzOfStEEL61 I'm not sure if this is what is happening, but it sounds like you might have a string tension problem. Take a look at our video on doing the UFO / Sleeping Beauty, or, if you are using an unresponsive yoyo, check out our video on Unresponsive String Tension.

    Hopefully those will help.

  • I have a Magic YoYo T10, which is very unresponsive yoyo, when i throw it up after the trapeze, it doesn't come back, and I saw some video with this yoyo that it does comes back, any tips?

  • @RimochR I have not used that particular yoyo, but there are a few things you can do to make a yoyo responsive. The first is you can get a thinner bearing. Most unresponsive yoyos these days use a size C bearing, and YoyoFactory and YoyoJam have a thin version of this bearing.

However, even with the bearing that is in the yoyo, if you add some grease (or even Vaseline) to the bearing seat (where the bearing touches the shaft of the yoyo) it should make the yoyo responsive.

    Hope this helps!

  • @yotricks thanks i'll try it

  • If my yoyo has landed on the string when i do a trapeze my yoyo will bind with the string and my hand will get hit ?

    any tips ?

  • @franfranmoney This happens on yoyos with a very narrow gap. You may need to get a different yoyo that is made for string tricks (like a Luminator), or, if the gap on your yoyo can be adjusted (like a Fast 201, for example) then you should widen the gap.

    Hope this helps!

  • Whats going to be the next video? :) I really like your tuts!

  • @discojockey007 Thanks. We are still working on a few things, not sure what's coming next. :)

  • @yotricks Ok! I´m tuned!

  • i can get it on my finger

  • 0 people fell off the trapeze

  • i can do this trick with a breakaway, but i was wondering if i can just start this trick, (and any other string trick) from a regular sleeper coming from the opposite side of a breakaway, so that way when i land the trapeze, i can automatically bind my yoyo since its spinning the right way. (im using an unresponsive yoyo at the moment)

  • @Frogiful Yes, you can do that. Actually the only problem you might encounter is that you might bind the yoyo on accident occasionally. If you can keep that under control there is really no reason not to do what you suggested.

  • I love the maverick to the guy who asked it ... And great video

  • hey would the yomega maverick be good for a begginer to yoyo'ing that wants to do string tricks

  • my luminator came in the mail yesterday with one of it's caps broken. Can i refund it or possibly get new caps?

  • i have a luminator just got it today can do the cradle and breakaway but cant land it on the string and i get the yoyo really close to my figers plz send me back good advise

  • @lebron0909 If you are getting it close to your finger but still missing that means that you need to make sure that you are using your yoyo hand to move the string to where the yoyo will be... that is, if you are missing to the outside of the string most of the time then you need to move your yoyo hand forward to make sure that the string will be there for the yoyo to land on. Also, it is possible that you may just need to get a little better at the Breakaway throw.

    Hope this helps!

  • How do you get such long sidemaunds

  • im having trouble putting the yoyo on the string anyadvise? i have a velocity

  • If you are throwing straight the best thing you can do is try to land it on the string close to your finger. The closer you land it to your finger the easier it is to land consistently.

  • It is called a Peter Fish Luminator. It is a new wide body yo-yo that will be available in the middle of January 2010 at YoTricks.

  • Cool tricks!!!!. What kind of yoyo are you using?

  • @GABEREELFILMS its the advanced PETERFISH ;)
