Yes country has changed, everything in life evolves. Especially music. Any artist needs to push the boundries of music and what they can do to change that type of genre. The car in the video is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am t-top. It is not the base model firebird. In 1979 for the 10th aniversary of the trans am pontiac put the firebird decal on the hood. Don't believe me; then put "1979 pontiac trans am" into google and look at the images. You will see multiple images of that very car. Or you can check wikipedia and read the article about the firebird and it's various other models.

Its a 73 pontiac firebird not trans am because first of all the trans am was cleaner in 73 then the fire bird and althought the fire bird offered up a nice V8 big block with a four speed on the floor the trans am for 73 beat out the fire bird 8-10. the fire bird and trans am were continued after the late 80s in to the 00s as two cars but same motor, same packaged interior only difference in the 01s is each one of the last five hundred were marked with a number.

Also, they were never always the same motor, many different packages are offered, and in the F-Bodys, the Firebirds have a V6 90% of the time, and the Trans Am had a LT1 in the mid-1990's and a LS1 with the Ram Air WS6 later. The Firebird looks completely different than the T/A, and I can spot the difference a mile away.
