Very nice car ! This is actually not a HARDTOP. The hardtop has no post between the front door windows and rear window. The window you describe as "triangular" is what you will find in the "Hardtop!" The link I am attaching has a perfect picture of a 63(because they did not make a 62 hardtop Rambler American) and the window did roll down too.
@1aminfla Thank you, yes I have my confusion between Hardtops and Sedans ironed out now. I have since aquired a 1954 Sedan, you can see videos of it , search " No frills Nash ". I love these old things....
I owned this car in the mid 90's car came from napa valley California my friend bought the car from the grandson in Tualatin Oregon, At the time the car had 13,000 miles and had some body damage more added by me in a rear end accident..the front seats were reupholstered in the original vinyl from SMS The engine was gone thru due to sitting..work was done buy a retired chrysler mechanic.. I still have the original warranty card for the radio!
the Quarter rear windows roll down halfway..I swapped the Original hood ornament , the one with the plastic R insert and put a 58-59 larger RamblerSerieshood spear...Babe Earnshaw was the Original owner
Fantastic! I always wondered about it's history. Of course I was told "it was one owner car" when I bought it. I never could verify the mileage accuracy, but I felt confident it was correct. I've driven it twice to Southern California via Hwy 1 from Portland.
In my oral presentation, I mis-stated and reversed the fact this car is a "Sedan" not a "Hardtop". Sedans have the look of a 4 door, "hard tops" have triangular rear quarter windows and maybe a more slanted rear window. It's interesting to me to note the wagon version came in 2 door and 4 door configuartions.
It begins with the usual web ht.........

Is Babe Earnshaw still around? Do you know if the car was purchaced in Napa?
Thank you for your kind information... it's fun to put the real story together

No she is long gone, technically you are the 6th owner if you bought the car from bill Lockner! somewhere i have the owners manual for that car.

Yes, Bill abandoned it at my place for a year. I felt sorry for the car and offered to buy it on a whim. I'm glad I did. It make me very happy.
I would love the owners manual and radio warranty card if it's not too much trouble to find.
I'm also looking for a factory dash clock, this car did not come with.
Thank you again!

Engine is original 6cyl OHV economy 90hp

The "400" version is the "economy" model with the "luxury" trim, such as deluxe trim package ( body line chrome ) and stainless interior apointments.

@2stroketurbo it's my understanding that a hard top has no pillar and a sedan does but i don't know if it applies to all cars or just muscle cars idk
