  • may i use this if i don´t have a MIDI KEYBORD ? my interface has MIDI and i have CUBASE

  • @JRRShop thanks for the answer

  • I just got an akai MPK mini, it has 8 pads on it so can I use battery or any other vst like this with my midi keyboard/pads to record?

  • @iDylDubstep It should work, you may need to assign the pads to different note numbers but Akai's software is usually very good and allows you to do things like that.

  • @JRRShop I've attempted this with similar free VSTs and it has yet to work. 2 of the 8 pads register and they aren't even the right pads. I don't wanna buy battery if this isn't gonna work. Does anybody have any info on how to assign the pads to the right notes to get them to play each pad?

  • i normally used drummax,so where do i change the sounds for this one?how do i make a BIGASS thump?

  • I've been searching for hours, and i've been telling to myself that i can't be the ONLY one that doesn't know HOW to open the program. So, there's battery 3 installed on my PC and there's Fruity Loops 10. If i understood right, you must open battery IN fruity loops so you can actually create loops. Can anyone tell me HOW do i do that ? All i can do is open battery 3 alone, and click on different sounds...yay :|

  • @harakyryx i think you need to have kontakt

  • how can we just PLAY your loop cells ?

  • how to seperate the claps from the kick and toms etc??

  • Hi,

A have a question- can u use a Yamaha DTXplorer electronic drum kit as a Battery MIDI controller?

    thanks.

  • I love opening song

  • Hi, I've some question to ask you and i thak you in advance for the answers :)

    1) how can i use the sidechain with a sample in a cell in battery 3 on ableton live 8?? (More simple: kick in a cell of battery 3, a bass in another midi track and the sidechain in to an audio track)

    2) in battery the only way to create a melody with a sample is by pitching it??

    3) what does means st 3/4 - st 5/6 ?? stereo 3/4, ecc?? if so there are limited numbers of channel to create external automations...no??

  • @DeeRougeJay

WITH VSTS IN ANOTHER CHANNEL I WANT TO SAY :P

  • @DeeRougeJay 1. Battery allows you to assign each cell to its own output. You'll then be able to sidechain the individual sounds in Ableton.

    2. You can also assign a modulation to pitch.

    3. Those are stereo outputs, where as 17 in a mono output.

  • I got Battery 3 with the Komplete bungle. I thinks its just horrible all around. The standalone is pointless because it doesn't record. Then you switch out a kit and the whole fucking midi interface changes, well it does for me. Useless, I googled mapping for Battery 3 and there's dudes out the spending hours making individual mappings for each kit. Fuck this!

  • My Battery 3 doesnt create a set of audio channels!

    What should i do!?

  • ei kra to com um problema.

no meu battery 3 toda musica q eu boto o som sai chiando como se tivesse topado mais q o suportado. como faço pra ele fica normal ??

  • shit

  • Cubase is to confusing, ableton is so much easier to setup and use.

  • @cast390 Different DAWs fit different people depending on their backgrounds and experience. Personally, Cubase makes a lot more sense to me than Ableton does but that might be because of my composition and studio background. I fully acknowledge that Ableton does a lot of amazing things and has a unique and innovative workflow that clearly works brilliantly for the modern electronic musician. I would love to try rewiring Ableton into Cubase, that seems like a great way to work.

  • @JRRShop Yeah the rewire is a wicked fuction, I personally have begun to love my Logic - Ableton Link!

  • @cast390 cubase is much better

  • @mattbfc2009,While cubase is good you'd better allow yourself alo tof time to learn the software, true, there is a learning curve with everything but ableton is way easier to learn and use

  • @cast390 i have been using cubase for around 7 years so i know it inside out and i just prefer it, everyone is different but i feel you can do more in cubase than you can in ableton when and recording and producing, i do think live would be good for live stage set ups because it's all right in front of you whilst cubase is all hidden.

  • @cast390 I got both. First I bought Cubase 5. Later Ableton Live 8. I have to say: It doesn't matter which DAW you use. Ableton has this Sessionview which is very cool. Cubase is better to go deeper inside the track. There are better FX Plug's. Both are fantastic products. 20 years ago you would have paid 20'000 bucks for possibilitys like this.

  • oke i downloaded it, how do i use it in cubase?! PLZ HELP

  • when i open the kit that i saved, i cant hear it... help please

  • My audio tracks don`t come up when I load Battery, any suggestions?

  • does anybody know if you can add 2 samples to one cell???

  • Yes

  • hey JRR, very nice and clear tutorial! I would like to know where you've installed the Battery Library because when I open a kit in Battery, from the official Library, it fills the cells with samples but after a couple of msec, it tells me the files are offline/missing. Thanks in advance

  • i can control battery via midi whit a drum machine??

  • This loads up really fast. What is this guy using a Macpro 32 core?

  • piratebay

  • My files appears like missing. what can I do??. somebody answer to me thxs.

  • Im also having problems, I downloaded the demo version, and when I try tu run it, the system tells me there was an error, I think its probably an installation problem, so are there any particular specifications for installent?

  • how much ram do you have?? and maybe see system requirements!

  • i have mac computer, I installed battery3 and presonus but the problem is battery 3 doesn't recognize fire box..what am i doin wrong here? please help thank you

  • im interested in how the mpd 24 works with battery. how do i make loops, where do i make them? in battery or do i load them on an instrument track in logic and write them there? and then how do i layer... kick snares etc...

  • remember battery 3 is a drum machine but NOT a sequencer so you need to use it in a daw to program in a beat. as far as i know at least ( i just got it with maschine the other day, hence why I'm watching this now lol)

  • how come my kits are missing?

  • How can I install battery in Logic?

  • Battery has an AU plugin as well as an RTAS and VST. Logic should find it automatically next time you open it. Just use it as an insert effect like usual.

  • Just download them and bang...Bob's you're uncle!!!!

  • This tutorial is incompetent and belongs to NI tutorial DVD. The entire DVD tutorial on Battery 3 skips right pass the main question as to how to create the complex loops that is constantly demonstrated through out the tutorial. It goes from loading Battery 3 kits or your custom kit and jumps 500 yards to playing a loop which leaves the viewer lacking as to know how to make a drum loop. If there is a step sequencer or a midi editor needed to make a simple loop then stick to FL Studio.

  • This has been answered in a previous comment.

  • Comment removed

  • " Now your drumkit is ready to be played" is this guy some kind of idiot? I thought this was a tutorial? How in the fuck did he start the step sequencer?

  • It doesn't have a built in step sequencer. You could either use a separate step sequencer plugin or edit the notes in a MIDI editor.

  • what is a midi editor, where can i get it, how can i use it? And how to get an external step sequencer?

I actually wanted this program to have the possibility to make more complex beats in fruity loops, but if it uses the same system its actually needlees.

Then it would've been enough to take the library as a huge samplepack but nooo you cant use em without that program....

  • would that include hardware such as an mpd

  • yes an Akai MPD 32, 24 and/or 18 or any other pad controller such as an M-Audio Triggerfinger will help with creating beats and certainly make it more fun than drawing in the MIDI notes.

  • hey i am using logic with battery as an AU, evertytime i make a beat i save and exit. upon me re opening that beat, all my drum tracks made with battery 3 are gone. like the notes r still there but the kit is not there???

  • save ur kits right in battery man... i save them right in battery while its running in pro tools

  • it doesn't have a built in step sequencer if i haven't mistaken. Basically you would have to manually paint in the notes in your midi sequencer.

  • How do you create an actual drum loop/drum track?????????????????
