If there were Orthodox Christian politicians, then it would be fine to have a collaboration of Church an State; but since these FundaMENTAList Political Christians are spewing heresies about God and Christianity, they must be stopped and put in their place. The fact of the matter is that Protestantism and Roman Catholicism are both heresies which have caused extremism in the Christians. This is a Christianity that is similar to Islam and not Christianity.

Jesus says love your neighbor, but people ignore Him saying "unless you repent you will perish"

@JoaquinJB I can understand his positions and opinions. He sees that Fundamentalist Christians are giving Christianity a bad reputation and ruining the country - and this is true. For never before have there been so many atheists as there are today; the people turn into atheists because of people who "shove Jesus down their throats". When Shaeffer said that "Salvation is a journey", he was giving the true Orthodox Christian understanding of the matter. Not the nutty FundaMENTAList understanding.

With all due respect Mr. Schaeffer, you are correct in sighting both extremes, but do you own that your position becomes an agnostic fundamentalism. You claim your a Christian that doesn't really belive the Bible is literally true. So peace comes from admitting there is no real truth, but Jesus has some good ideas. This is what your father called neo orthodoxy, and Bartonian theology.

Theology of humility would be to believe in the words of Jesus in total, not in part.

The whole "Turn or Burn" theology of Fundamentalists does not work in the arena of politics anymore; these Christians are not speaking the Truth. They are extremists who have no fellowship in the ancient Church of Christ. They are teaching an extremist Christianity, one which is not Orthodox.

A religious test for office, has been instituted in this country. Faith which is a personal matter has become an open and necessary part of a person's c.v. for office. We need to take back the government from those who would institute a theocracy in the U.S. Instead of America, we are becoming Ameriklka! Heil Jesus!
