i really think that nate has a good chance on beating silva. He is probably my 2nd favorite fighter, first being rich franklin. If you watch the fight, and i think joe rogen says it. After he knocked mia out, he pulled his punch back cause he knew he was out. Thats sportsmanship.

Good predictions man. I took a stand on four fights; I picked mike russow, brandon vera, gabriel gonzaga, and nogueira to win. I think too many people were counting Nogueira out. Randy is and was amazing though, but I just didn't think he would beat Big Nog.

I got Randy by Decision. If Nog does get the sub, I can't see it being from top position. How many times has randy ever been on bottom? Even Lesnar had trouble getting him there, and couldn't keep him there. It's possible if he gets rocked, but I don't see it.

I think its much more likely that Nog would pull guard when Couture pushes him against the cage.

Appreciate your picks but I disagree with them all except for Vera. I've got Vera, Jardine and Randy winning easily. I'm having a little more doubts about Maia and Rosholt, but I think Maia can pull it out and Leben I believe is still prone to takedowns. If you remember he was taken down repeatedly and controlled in the Martin fight and I don't think he has fought enough wrestlers since Koscheck to erase that stigma in his game. I've got Rosholt by UD.

Yeah that's true. We can disagree with each other and still be cool. Your insight on the jardine/thiago fight made a lot of sense. Initially i thought jardine was going to blow thiago out of the water, but you raised a good point about jardine cracking under pressure and after thinking about it some more i'm not as confident in jardine today. anyways keep up the good work man.

well I agree with you on every fight except the main card I think Couture greco-roman wrestling skills are gonna prove to much for nog, and randys ground and pound is vicous, plus if does remain a standup you have to remember nogs and mirs fight, if couture can keep the pressure on him in the standup I think its a knockout in the second.

As always, your picks are reasonable and very well thought out; always based on the previous performances and the tendencies of the fighters in question.

Just once, though, I'd like to see you make a decision based on what your gut tells you. Your always so logical, picking the fighters most likely to win and what not. Try picking an underdog for once.

Upset victories are part of what make this sport so exiting. Gosh...

Thanks for the support. Yeah alot of people tell me that, and I get emails on it as well. I look at the styles, and the matchup, and base my pick on that. If I possibly see the upset I go with it. And yes, thats why MMA is amazing, the sport is so unpredictable, and you never know what is going to happen.

Great vid as usual Chase, I got almost the same picks as yours but I'm not too sure about Marquardt/Maia, I know Nate can hold his own on the ground and has the clear advantage on the feet, but Maia BJJ is on another level ,and sooner or later that fight will hit the ground. About the Nog/Randy fight I'll be rooting for Nog, but I hope his last performance was affected by the staph and knee injury, because if he shows up like that in this bout, I won't be surprised if he gets TKO again.

I don't think Thiago Silva will push the pace too much early. I think he'll be really hesitant coming off the Machida fight and get picked apart and lose a decision to Jardine.

Thiago's style IS to push. The ONLY reason he'd be hesitant is if he were fighting a fighter similar to Machida,

and obviously, Jardine is FAR from a Machida.

Thiago will study the tapes of Jardine's losses and know that his style (similar to Wanderlei and Houston) would be the obvious way to go.

Likewise, Jardine's biggest chance is to replicate what Machida did, but that would require Jardine completely changing up his style, which will probably not happen.

i think brando very by head kick ko in the first or 2nd,maia by sub in the 2nd or 3rd,jardine i think will use foot work after seeing the mistakes silva made against lyoto and i think he will try to catch silva since i think he will assume silva has a weak chin after what lyoto did to him,the nog fight really could go either way either randy in the by descision or nog by late sub,hope this card is better than 101 and the bs with run forest run :D

Maia Marquardt will be interesting, I'm curious to see how much of this fight will be on the ground. Maia has decent takedowns and Marquardt has said publicly that he doesn't fear going to the ground with Maia, which is probably not a wise idea, although that could be just pre-fight "talk". Has Maia been really tested in the UFC? Probably not. Both of these are good fighters, could go either way. I'm definately interested in this one.

I love how many people are Picking randy. Its pretty ridiculous actually considering that NOG does what randy does, but he finishes people instead of trying to draw out a decision.

Nog is a pretty big favorite in my eyes. On the feet he's Randy's foil (head movement, jab) and on the ground he's unstoppable pretty much...Nog by sub in the 2-3-4th

I pick Couture by a dominating decision. But if this fight decides who fights Lesnar next then I'll have to go with Nogueira. I want to see Nogueira against Lesnar. So really its a win-win situation for me. I don't like Jardine much but I will pick him because I think he has a good gameplan for Silva. Gonzaga might get KOd again but I'll give him a chance. I'll pick Gonzaga. Chris Leben and Vera ftw. I expect those 2 to get TKO/KO wins.

I have nothing negative to say about Randy Couture (nor does anyone else, lol), but it's not a tough fight to predict. I have a question for you: do you think the winner of this fight (Nog) will get a shitle tot (gotta love Thiago Alves) against the winner of Brock v Shane? Or maybe Cain v Rothwell?
