Many members who come out the ICOC are angry, bitter and confused and lost. They worship the church rather than God. But I can say this' if you are hurt from this church. God is able to redeem you in his love and mercy. I have had many people come out the ICOC hurt and felt lonley. @95Edrick Good point. However, many have also used their experiences to see a snap shot of religion, as a whole. The ICOC represents religion in general. No bitterness here...great lesson learned, and never again.

I was involved in this but the international christian church! All I have to say is I am a devoted christian!! But not to this church but to christ jesus!! This church is a cult!!!
if you build you salvation on works 8 -10 studies to get baptized, [a work in progress] then obviously you won't get the concept of grace, grace = free gift, if i must study or "show myself to be something more than a sinner" to deserve your salvation then christ did not die for you you did

I have not been able to attend the ICOC for 7 yrs now cause I have not been where there is a church. I have been a member for 13yrs before the 7. I am grateful that I got to be a part of the church in Naples, Florida, and TN. If it were a cult, being away for 7yrs don't you think I would have come out of it considering I have had hardly any contact with the church. I pray to my GOD they plant one in Pensacola cause I would be the first to walk in their doors. There is good and bad in everything.

@narlacat Forget what church says this. Read Hebrews10:26-31, James 2:14-26, Romins 6:15, 1 peter 4:3-5, Galations 5:19. Its the bible that teaches this. Read it. Yes Christ died for all which gives us salvation, but that is not a licence to sin. If you understand the cross you will be broken by it which will motivate you to do whats right. This cult damaged me psychologically more than I can say. They do not deserve to put the word "church" in their name. C-U-L-T. Look it up. I very much agree with vrdisciple, my name is Claude, I attended the ILC incredible and I'm a part of the Southern Florida Church of Christ.
I think many people point the finger rather than deal with their own sins, no one is perfect, see you need to realize that we are all in the same boat "sinners" and Jesus want as many of us to be saved. The ICOC is for the most part a den of thieves... with a few good hearts thrown in, but the good ones not in position of power or influence. (it's too theatening to ,leadership) I was a member for 17 years and have been out for 6 years. I know more people now outside the church with true integrity than I ever knew inside the church.
Truly what really matters is where we are as individuals. Are living by God's word? Are we loving one another as Jesus commanded us to do so? Are we committed to making disciples of all nations? Yes. I agree. You will know them by their fruit. God cannot be mocked. It is not the ICOC per se. It truly an exposure of people's hearts. The leaders are not the ones that are going to get me to heaven. It is my personal, steadfast relationship with God, my love for all saints.

It is truly disgusting how this movement who has the same issues that every church has such as members who are not married sleeping with each other, divorces, gay relationships, members cheating on their wives, members who have visited adult bookstores, members who have sought the services of prostitutes, etc will turn right and tell you that they are different from other churches because they are the "True Chruch". Nor will they tell you that some church leaders have had affairs.
@TonyFresh001 what you say is true, their doctrine is very deceitful and full of double they call people to be disciples of Jesus, but how it really works is they call you to be Jesus and no one but Christ can bear that burden, you don't live a perfect life you just become more or a hypocrite and deceitful than when you first joined, I think that there are many examples of similiar churches, that don't understand the Grace of God.
The problem with the ICOC is that their standard operating procedure, while not written down, is one that uses a persons sins against them to shame them into doing what the leaders want them to do. This has not changed even with kip mckean gone from the movement. There are very insensitive, rude, arrogant, and down right hypocritical leaders with in the movement who truly should not be leading anyone and who look down upon others outside of the church and outside of leadership.
It is quite unfortunate and deeply saddening that those who have no part with the ICOC nor any of their fellowships offer blank statements based off of comments taken out of context in a single video.
The arrogance and pride that led to the ICOC's self-evaluation had indeed led o needed change and humility. To offer blanket statements and judgmental comments as one who has either "cut and run" or has not been a part of this fellowship and seen the changes through to this point is only evidence

I know plenty of verses that say that those who trust in Jesus will be saved, but that doesn't necessarily mean that those who do not know about or believe in Jesus are damned. It just makes fundamentalists look stupid and superstitious.
Wow I hope I and others give them another chance...they really messed up! It is so precious what they had,( the faith and trust of the people) It's hard no matter what they say to get it back, but is that fair?...How long does someone have to pay who wronged you, a year, years, forever...I wish I could go back and things would be like it was, it was so beautiful. But now people are as empty as this page...

It is quite unfortunate and deeply saddening that those who have no part with the ICOC nor any of their fellowships offer blank statements based off of comments taken out of context in a single video.
The arrogance and pride that led to the ICOC's self-evaluation had indeed led o needed change and humility. To offer blanket statements and judgmental comments as one who has either "cut and run" or has not been a part of this fellowship and seen the changes through to this point is only evidence

this is total bullsh*t !!! i thought these folks did away with the "we're the only ones going to heaven" thinking. but "we have fewer than 100k disciples in our fellowship of churches" to save the 7 billion folks in the world ... smells of elitism. i don't think the leaders of the old icoc have learned much post-krete letter. no thank you!

I know plenty of verses that say that those who trust in Jesus will be saved, but that doesn't necessarily mean that those who do not know about or believe in Jesus are damned. It just makes fundamentalists look stupid and superstitious.

Wow I hope I and others give them another chance...they really messed up! It is so precious what they had,( the faith and trust of the people) It's hard no matter what they say to get it back, but is that fair?...How long does someone have to pay who wronged you, a year, years, forever...I wish I could go back and things would be like it was, it was so beautiful. But now people are as empty as this page...
