For me things that make a luxury car a real BMW are: 1 - S6 or V8 engine (sound - no diesel please!), 2 - the fuel consumption meter below the rev counter - so funny to watch (to bad M versions don't have this :-S). 3 - a dashboard turned to the driver. 4 - Rear Wheel Drive (ASR/DSC off :-D). My 528i has them all...of course it is manual.

I like the sound. I think it's pretty decent. I have the RD Sport cat-back on my 06 E90 325I....I chose that one because it was a custom system and had the most gains. I didn't care as much about sound. It deffinently sounds better than stock though so that's a plus.

No its not ;) With modelyear 08 change in August 2007 the 325i was changed to the same 3.0 L inline-6 that the 330i uses on all global markets. Before August 2007 it indeed had a 2.5 L inline-6, but at that time it wasn't sold at all in US.
