  • This kinda shit ends badly...believe it.

  • no they'd need something literally like Metal gear rex for it to be functional in war (forget about ray he was unplausable) but MG rex is a plausable bipedal walking battle tank that could change the face of war forever....and this is the start..the humble beginnings as they say and as i say bring on the REX

  • It's only a matter of time now before the japanese take over the world

  • If the robot has improved, it can be a very good use in war, is a great weapon.

  • Comment removed

  • looks like the star wars ones

  • no way. is it real?.. no way, is it a computing amination?

  • Japanese peoples are AWESOME but i wonder if that one is good in war

  • looks like it will fall if i piss on it.

  • xD Gecko much?

  • oh my god metal gear!!!!!!

  • you guys act like you can build a robot when you cant x.x

  • ED 209?

  • Dibs. I call dibs. When that guy dies the robot is mine.

  • Now just make aliiiitle taller and add upper torso with moving arms and presto

  • Some people have WAY too much free time...

  • Goliath online

  • just didn't like the fact they already equipped it with weapons. I need arms dammit! But honestly I believe that a quadrapedal model would make craploards more sense. Say for balance, better speed, and easier to design.

  • Now we're a step closer to having our own military made of giant robots.

  • Someone needs to tell the pilot to watch out for Ewoks.

  • Only work on flat surface, a curb would owned it.

  • Sweet...well everything has to start somewhere ;-) I am sure I can blast this thing with a .22 but one day...one day...

  • Quiero subirme a esa cosa!!!!

  • Snake...It appears we have found a NEW METALGEAR!

  • wont b killing 2 many people with that sloth

  • @JackDaScarecrow Still, it's a step forward (No pun intended).

  • shit how many you pay for this ?????????

  • pretty neat you should do a speed run on how to make one.

  • What a great vehicle to use in controlling unruley crowds that get out of control during demonstrations that turn violent. WIth the advance of technology happening faster and faster everyday I would say that a system like this would be in service in less then twenty years. The designer of this vehicle should take a look at the Athlete, NASA moon rover and incorporate the suspension system int the design.

  • this is lame

  • I guess progress marches right along

    (the wonders of science)

  • these would suck at the military, they are slow and don't seem to be able to shoot left or right, I could just knock it over.

  • @randomenvelope Did it ever occur to you that this is an experimental vehicle? Production models would be more stable have stronger suspension systems and control surfaces and oh yeah you could knock over the test vehicle, and be arrested. shot or fired.

  • @HunterR909 yes but as you can see with this model there is another 30 years till this will actually improve, this thing can't even lift its own feet, and I would not get shot for knocking it over, either be arrested, getting shot for knocking into a mech would get them fired for lowly trust in the military, they are having these things based on fucking video games, laser cannons, based on star wars, armor suits, based on Halo, america is getting more stupid every passing day.

  • @randomenvelope This is from Japan numbnuts.

  • @chuck23gurus then pardon me, HUMANITY is getting more stupid everyday :)

  • hahaha i love it how it just shimmy's on the ground

  • This is from the japanese military?

  • @GlascoIndustries Not even that special now, I mean.. it's still a thing on wheels. Not an actual "walking machine".

  • 酷喔!

    配樂好像天龍特攻隊的感覺!!!

  • It's like my Front Mission gaming dreams are coming true. If this ever does become real, I'll be a /m/an and join the army just ride one of these babies.

  • @malemoogle no, you'll be a bitch and ride around in it, fact is if it ever came into service you;d be lucky to clean one- that's how he airforce works

  • @koglowa Yeah, I know.

  • Buen trabajo, tal vez en un combate te sugiero mejor bajarte y usar un bat de beisbol

  • toooooooooooooooooooooo slow.

  • Thats insane! I want one of my own!

  • @thndrct218 me too!!!! xD

  • fase sperimentale XD

  • I would say this is more towards machwarrior than robotech

  • First prototype of the AMP suit from Avatar.

  • its a zentradi battle pod

  • He should use it in traffic!

  • That would be fun to tool around in. Even though it doesn't truly walk, it would still be pretty scary to be chased by this thing!

  • it should have been loaded

  • he must be very board

  • they should just give it wheels so it would go faster

  • Dude it is on wheels.

If you look closely every step that it takes is in reality its feet sliding across the ground on wheels.

This isn't a attempt at making a real mech, this is just attempt at making a mech lookalike.

  • *vreen!*

    HOMAHGAWD, METAL GEARRRRRR. :O

  • looks like an early production battlemech scout.

give them time and it will move better and be capable of fighting.

  • lol the robotech masers realy need that protoculture

  • They should have the Segway Company work on this thing, 'cause it's just way too slow.

  • It looks more like "In Snakes Voice " Metal Gear.

  • Looks kind of like a Sentry from Timeshift. Anyone agree? :D

  • This is only the beginning. In the future they'll be equipped with heavey weapons and will be able to move at higher speeds.

  • mm .. I dont think making a mecha like that would be hard. Harder would be making it run fast, be able to stand up easily, and pick up objects, and of course calibrating everything so that it would be "easy to use". It would need a extremely strong "skeleton" of maybe titanium or something like that. I'm not familiar with chemistry much, but surely if all the best engineers and scientists, mathematicians and such would hit their heads together, they could create such vehicle. And jetpack.

  • Yes well....got to be a fetus before you can walk. One step at a time. Who knows, maybe our grandchildren will be lucky enough to be killed in a MS skirmish. But all we can do is lay the groundwork.

  • its mabe a better idea to make a exoskeleton cause mankind can already walk/run pick things up

this way you will be more powerfull

better protected and you will have the lifting strength of 2-3 man or so

heavy weaponry wont be a problem this way

still it's still in the earky stages of being realized so i dont think it will happen in a year or 10-20

  • yah they should have spartans in the future :D

  • Strong Skeleton?

This looks like a job for.

    CARBON NANOTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBES!

  • japan is supposed to be advansed but yet they can't make a mecha the picks up it's legs lame.

  • I could make a better "mech" for a 100,000 dollars, that could at the very least move with out dragging its feet.

  • hmm this looks more like a HOUND from chrome hounds

  • Nice. You can make a "Real Life Hound from Chrome Hounds" video then...

    =]

  • wow bricks be shat and nerd moment

  • us army has a damn robot that can walk on ice and hop and run it on u tube look up big dog or bad dog something like that

its actually pretty f#$# scary to see how damn good it can run better then a human

  • Oh well, its Real Robot for you guys.

    Gurren-Lagaan will have to wait.

  • Yea need to figure out how to step and truly walk. Still only a matter of time

  • they already have that figured out, see asimo for instance.

It's how to make it both hueg and controllable, that's the real problem.

landmates are still a long way away.

  • It's much too slow to be practical sadly. Give the R & D division a good 2 or more decades and we may see some progress.

  • set it up with a proper computer control system and coordination and it would be a lot more brisk. but it would still suck.

  • wow it actualy shoots wonder why they dont use those in wars they would kik ass

  • cause they dont step they roll, it would tip over or go no where

  • its slow... it does not avoid anny obstickles... the only thing bout it is that it looks kickass

  • if you put that thing in war it would jsut be a sitting duck

  • lol yea

  • that moves less than a mile an hour and is made of light weight composites and shoots tennis balls.

Compare that to an Abrams tank which can kill at over a mile and drives 40+ mph. mecha will have to struggle in battle to gain a practical use.

  • METAL GEAR ftw

  • Mechwarrior, anyone?

  • now you just need to find a way to make it actually work like a real life robotech mecha

  • it does work lol you can also buy this they have a few other ones all over $2000

  • it would be funny as hell watching that walk down the road

  • thats more like an MT...

  • "METAL GEAR?!?"

  • Hmmm a few design flaws, if it could lift its feet it'd be a good civilian mech used for construction or so. You want VF-1s? XD Wait some more decades.

But I definitely believe mechas will serve a military use in the future, just imagine a tank-like thing with short legs, so that's a low gravity center, voilà MK-II Monster Destroid

  • red necks made the first mecha but though should fight each other before robotech comes out lol.

  • damn who dont love those lil bastards rednecks

  • that would be useful in iroq even if its slow it could deal with the fire it takes and it could kill terriosts and gorrilas quickly its the ultimate heavy wepon

  • how is that more useful than what we use now? its slow, puts the driver in an incredibly vulnerable spot, and looks as though it can only move on flat ground.

  • What that video dont show is that it probably has hydrulics in legs TO MAKE IT JUMP PAST ROUGH TERRAIN-But other than that-What happens if it gets KNOCKED OVER?!...>=)p Like theres no way to right itself from the ground

  • You gotta be kidding?!-POOR DESIGN-Its got places on body that CAN BE HIT WITH**ARMOR PIERCE SHELLS AT JOINTS**(To either knock it over-Or systematicly tear it apart)

  • I see no way something that heavy would be able to jump....

  • HeH-HeH,I used to think the same thing ...Untol I saw these hydrolic 2,000 POUND(1 or 2 TON?) Heavy HOPPER LOWRIDERS clear a lot of hieght off the ground-Go to those car shows sometime-Actually YOUTUBE has lotta those HEAVY LOWRIDER HOPPERS videos on here-The same thing can be applied to the waling machine-It just needs better suspension to handle those hydrolics with that kind of weight-In case you are wondering-I'm 1 of few remaining 1980S ENGINEERS B4 any of that 1990cheap plastic was started

  • this days legged or humaniod mech is very slow and bullky but i believe soon that we have robot like gundam, evangelion, and robotech that humanoid mech that can maneuver efficiently.. even tank was less use during ww1 due to some technical difficulties

  • well man, not soon, maybe not even in 50 years. they aren't all that practical and then there is the fact they have high centers of gravity

  • As true as that maybe, it could be out quite early considering the advancement of technology multiplying more and more each year.

  • its not really practicle for the military being on llegs and all it would be easier just to use wheels

  • actually with the legs it is more versatile

  • sure when it comes to a heavy obstacle but when it comes to maneuverability, a tank takes the cake.

  • bullets can't touch you

  • My money says that we will see military applications of a similar machine within 50 years.

  • future weapons? lol NOT!

  • This mech is useless, but fast moving highly armored mech army's that could avoid nukes would OWN tanks and infantry. We are probably about 100 years off from this. Further travel into space and Robotics research on earth will yield the technology's to create Veratechs, and Gundams. You just wait and see.

  • Maybe this mecha could transform into a high speed vehicle or some shit, I dunno, maybe this is 1st stage, which could be like attack mode or some horseshit.

  • it aint a mech until it can lift its feet. until then its a mobile pod that moves via shuffling appendages :)

one step closer though i guess...

  • technically it's not a "walker"... it's a "shuffler"

  • I think the practicality of limbed vehicles (mechs) for millitary applications was discussed seriously at one point. The advantage of a mech over a tank is it's high profile which allows it to survay more of the battlefield. Unfortunately, as this is also a weakness, and the fact that mechs can't be made nearly as agile as those in anime, the mech is pretty much impracticle for millitary use.

  • like metal gear rex!

  • There was a time when they said the same about airplanes.

Maybe in a few decades things will change :)

  • imagine ASIMO only 40 ft. tall

the technologies applied on ASIMO is a great launchpad for future endeavors in making mechas

  • perhaps they might be ableto make a mech that has extrime mobilty eventualy and it wolud probably have a huge advantage over tanks next they will go and make these things fly!

  • I want Veritech. Not this... xD

  • the first real patlabor prototype

  • whats the point the thing can bearly move i dont think this technology is going to work people why build this when u have a tank that moves freely and can carry a lot more wieght what happends if it comes accross unevan ground whoops fellas wars over better pack it in

  • The technology is in its infancy.

Do you know that when the rifle was first invented a standard english longbow was superior in every way.

After being refined it is the most commonly used weapon in warfare today.

    Give this thing a chance.

  • i dunno.. right now, it looks like a couple of ewoks could totally own this thing

  • Dude, I totally agree.. ^^

  • @Valthek Exactly what I was thinking! A couple giant logs and down she goes

  • wtf is that !!! is that that mech from robocop?

  • this looks like an earley knightmare frame from code geass

  • When these thing become agile and technology moves forward, as it has done with trains, planes and cars ect. these things will be unmatch in manuverability and usefulness.

  • wheels

  • Brakedance !!! LOL hahahha

  • maravilloso!

  • One day robots will cry.

  • Oh that is sick.

  • That's a big baseball shooter.

  • Have a long way too go. But I can't wait to see the first "real" Terminator, just hope John Connor doesn't try to prevent it from happening, that bum.

  • oh my god~~~what's this?the tin with two legs?

  • don't push it over

  • its a big tennis ball shooter ...lol

  • I WANT ONE!!!

  • hope we still alive when those mechas are in this world, and want my lisa jajajaa

  • just as predicted. few more years will be the era of machines. they will be called Mobile suits and a mobile suit superior should be the GUNDAMS.

  • I agree!

  • omg...unbelievable!!!

    =O

  • i think they should take the chromehounds approach to mechs wich is evolved tanks, look it up

  • this looks more like a mech (mechwarrior) than a mecha (robotech)

  • ...which are basically the same thing...

  • How much do we have to wait before they start building EVA units XD?

  • Now if they only would get it to actually walk and not roll on wheels.

  • it's like having the legs of an eldery man!!! simply amazing!!!

  • why people thinking for war why not for peaceful way?...this is not piece of crap, some industrial use and civil works has more benefits if it is developed more, more convinient to forklift or cranes or other form of machines , shall we say multi purpose mecha

  • lol

  • coolness...

  • Shufflebot!

  • For those wishing to get the full effect of walking in an elderly mans shoes!

  • oh noes the mini-gun is outta ammo

  • does it have wheels in its feet?

it spind and walks without lifting the feet, so i was just wondering...

  • Mommy mommy buy me one!

  • Great mecha, but remember, dont fight Ewoks with this...

  • they'll fuck you up with there logg traps that come out of nowhere

  • Man,i want one for myself!

  • Metal Gear here we come.

  • well Mechas do have alot of potential in the military. mostly because of the fact that they would beable to operate in area that Tanks can't travers.

Go Go Metal gear Rex XD

  • this piece of junk will turn in a pile of trash in less than 1 sec, when facing with my 4 turret mecha that i drawed and design!!

  • paper v.s. metal...hmmm wonder who'd win?

  • SWEET!!! want more MECHA? goto ARMOROID5000 and see!!

  • In 10 years it could be a potential option for military use XD

  • whoa

  • looks very unstable and unpractical

having said that... it kicks ass!!!

in alien 2 they had some mecha too such as this one, when segorny beaver fought the alien 1 on 1 on their spaceship

  • this is esey to make but exspencive

  • i wish today was already nano-technology

  • Fact is. In the future (2060 maybe), the Japanese will probably make 15% of the technology depicted in their futuristic animes and concepts a reality.

  • Thats what u think, look up japan's ifoot, i think its called. And there exoskeleton is way better than the american one. Japans always one or more steps ahead than a lot of places so i dont know aht the heck ur talkin about.

  • oh really, hahahah ifoot i searched for that and its nothing but a junk, just like that weird crap looking car that can't even beat a 50 year old normal cars, i tryed so many japan technology and all of it seems to work like junk that u be able to cheat on it so easily, how stupid!!

  • Look up there Exoskeleton u retard.

  • wow calling ppl that u don't know retard, it really makes u the real one,u just said look up for I-Foot not Exoskeleton so i looked up only the I-Foot, u sound like 10 who pee at ur parents house all day!!

  • you are such a damn loser
