Funny. Alucard and Dracula are one in the same. Alucard is a vampire hunter but he himself is a vampire (if you follow the Hellsing series). But Alucard is one badass motherfucker....plain and simple
@EEVEEwolf1 What do you mean one and the same? You can't cross two completely different canons or stories and expect them to be the same. Alucard and Dracula is suggestively only one and the same in the Hellsing series. Only two things similar with CV Alucard and Hellsing Alucard is that they both fight evil for now (Hellsing Alucard's motives for this remains secret).
I feel it is justified to point out that the lapses also include the extent of the Curse that Damns all who wield it and has alluded towards causing Hunters to become what they hunt, Which Belmonts suffered the most 'loss' which would make them Weaker, than someone who didn't suffer penalties and just reaped EXP in the massacre of the unholy. As for the Ability, Richter definately pulls off a lot of power! That however I point towards. How many generations weaken the Curse to allow max potential

yah but castlevania lords of shadow is a reboot of the whole franchise, it may have some connections with the original story, but most of it will be different, also gabriel belmont was alive much before all the other belmonts, and in the end he calls himself Dracula (According to the DLC Reverie he has to drink Lauras blood in order to defeat the forgotten one. Also when zobek meets up with Dracula/Gabriel it takes place in the modern day. So i think all the other belmonts were fighting him in

@metalpsips still he was one of the most well known characters in castlevania, and was killed by isaac, also isaac is stronger than him, think with me, in castlevania curse of darkness, you fought trevor twice, the second time it was him at his full power, and the last fight you had with isaac was MUCH MUCH harder than trevor's fight, it was realy hard, also isaac is a devil forge master, trevor isnt.

@vjoroa19 The reason for the Belmont bloodline being so powerful was actually explained, but mcdouchenuts decided to retcon the actual reason out of the entire plot line by saying Sonia Belmont never happened. Needless to say, if that part wasn't retconed, Trevor Belmont would actually be Alucard's son, and thus every proceeding Belmont would be a decedent of Dracula. It's why Juste looks so much like Alucard, again ruined because of the retcon.
@ChampionSheWolf But trevor married syphia, that's a good reason for the belmonts being powerful since syphia is a powerful witch. Also, legends doesn't fit in the timeline. In legends, Alucard goes to sleep, yet in castlevania 3, which is in less then 100 years from legends, Alucard is awake once more. Plus, wouldn't Alucard recognize his own son?
@Realcoolblue If you notice in CastleVania 3, Alucard arises from a coffin. The whole timeline fits quite well, and was written that way. Again, many of the future Belmont appearances would have explained why many Belmont's actually look like Alucard, particularly Juste. It would also explain a few of their peculiar powers. Though Sypha is often credited with giving the bloodline their power, The Belmont's were powerful before then.
@ChampionSheWolf Well I haven't played any castlevania except for DXC so my mistake. But it also doesn't make sense why sonia has powers either though . Sonia was pretty much became forgotten after legends anyways, her second game got canceled, and was never referenced to again, even when she was canon, she was pretty much forgotten in the story line, so that's probably why IGA kicked her out. She is still canon in a sense, she's probably a legend about the belmonts in the vania universe.

I was about to say, if Alucard was related to the Belmonts, why can they use holy water, but Alucard can use holy water too. But creatures of the night can't use the vampire killer, otherwise dracula would have stole it.

@vjoroa19 That is very tricky because Julius is said to be the most powerful vampire hunter, however the sentence in which it is said does not clearly specify if from his time or of his clan. The same works for Alucard's statement in the game Symphony of The Night.
@vjoroa19 I really don't agree i would love to explain myself but with only 400 or so characters consider it impossible. all i can say is Alucard was referring to any Vampire Hunter alive and i belive with the proper equipment Richter has a very difficult time killing Jonathan. Just look at it this way i have pieced together a Belmont family bloodline, surly you know Trevor was the first Belmont meaning his divine power was cut down as the Belmont Bloodline grew further.

Trevor, Simon, Juste, Richter, Line cut diverged to Johnathan Morris, and Later it returned to Julius. however if you inculed the ps2 game Leon Belmont it messes up everthing also Sonia Belmont was said to fall in love with Alucard and there child was Trevor so then the Line is. Leon, Sonia, Trevor, Simon, Juste, Richter, Jonathan Morris, Julius.
@vampbigboss You can't Include Gabriel for the Ps3/Xbox because that's suppose to be a separate timeline. in the end Richter is really among the weakest of the Belmonts he falls near the end and therefore has the least amount of power. If you think Richter is Powerful, just imagine the Power of the first Belmonts uncut by the Bloodline, just unbelievable and unmatched Power.

@devilbelmont well I didn't know that last bit about Soma. I just know what I've read up on. I plan to get the GBA and DS so I can play those Castlevanias'. The only ones I've played so far are the first three on the NES, Super Castlevania IV, Dracula X, Symphony of the Night, Curse of Darkness, and a demo for Dawn of Sorrow. I've only beaten Curse of Darkness though, and I just got to the reverse castle in Symphony of the Night today.
@DartUchiha i played like all castlevania's and i can say that all are good games! but in my opinion the best castlevania of all time is SOTN! we need a goddamn sequel or at least an hd remake!

Dracula and Death are two recurring characters & bosses in CV. They're butthurt at Belmonts and possibly the other main characters that slaped their asses
@SuperTechnoWolf you forgot john and jonathan morris though they are indirect descendants of the belmonts they held the vampire killer whip after Rheinhardt because the Belmont had somehow disappeared and the whip was entrusted to the Morris Family, in which they played very big roles from 1917 (Bloodlines), 1944(Portrait of Ruin) to 1999 (Given back to the Belmont Family, Julius)
@vjoroa19 I only went with the Belmonts, if I wanted to be fully precise, I'd have also mentioned Nathan Graves in 1830... but y'know, with Lords of Shadow and what happens in the game and at the end of it (no spoiler), all our theories are gonna be screwed up... just like with the Zelda franchise (fortunately, that doesn't take off the awesomeness of these games)

@CloudStrifeZX A new developer cant just make previous games no longer canon. I'm sure he'd love to but fact of the matter is, he had no involvement in the game and cant really change canon just because he feels it shouldn't be.

LOS is not "shit." It's actually a great game that is taking the Castlevania franchise in a new direction. It's opening up new, potential storylines that could help keep Castlevania alive. I don't know about you, but I think it's a nice change of pace not having to kill Dracula AGAIN.
@jfalconi3 See, your going under the assumption that I bought it. I did no such thing, haha. It does nothing to discern itself from the DMC formula established years ago. Call me crazy, but I just felt a lack of creativity in the whole product. Yes, the gameplay has it's intricacies, it's just nothing that hasn't been done before. Not to mention that painful soundtrack, just because something is orchestrated doesn't mean it's good, and the LOS soundtrack perfectly illustrates that point.
@cloudstrife1256 You're basing the quality of a game off of its soundtrack? This reminds me of a wise, old saying: "don't judge a book by its cover." And at least it's breaking its 2D boundaries and expanding into an actually good 3D environment. Sure, God of War started the combat style. But thats no reason to say LOS is COPYING and not worth playing. Look at the CoD franchise. They certainly weren't the first to develop "first-person shooter" games, but they're very well respected

I didn't base my entire opinion off of the game's soundtrack, and I didn't call it a god of war clone, I said the formula did nothing to distinguish itself from the Devil May Cry formula established years ago. Were it to be based off of the DMC/GOW formula (I actually like DMC), that would be fine, but at the end of the day I don't see anything that distinguishes it from those respective games.
@jfalconi3 I think another problem is that not all Castlevania fans wanted this change. Change is good, yes, but I think a lot of people would like to see a sequel to SOTN. Iga's established formula does need a fresh twist, no one really wants another metroidvania clone (as good as the games are). As a longtime an of the series, it just doesnt stand worthy IMHO.

@vampbigboss You can't Include Gabriel for the Ps3/Xbox because that's suppose to be a separate timeline. in the end Richter is really among the weakest of the Belmonts he falls near the end and therefore has the least amount of power. If you think Richter is Powerful, just imagine the Power of the first Belmonts uncut by the Bloodline, just unbelievable and unmatched Power.

@devilbelmont well I didn't know that last bit about Soma. I just know what I've read up on. I plan to get the GBA and DS so I can play those Castlevanias'. The only ones I've played so far are the first three on the NES, Super Castlevania IV, Dracula X, Symphony of the Night, Curse of Darkness, and a demo for Dawn of Sorrow. I've only beaten Curse of Darkness though, and I just got to the reverse castle in Symphony of the Night today.

@SuperTechnoWolf you forgot john and jonathan morris though they are indirect descendants of the belmonts they held the vampire killer whip after Rheinhardt because the Belmont had somehow disappeared and the whip was entrusted to the Morris Family, in which they played very big roles from 1917 (Bloodlines), 1944(Portrait of Ruin) to 1999 (Given back to the Belmont Family, Julius)

LOS is not "shit." It's actually a great game that is taking the Castlevania franchise in a new direction. It's opening up new, potential storylines that could help keep Castlevania alive. I don't know about you, but I think it's a nice change of pace not having to kill Dracula AGAIN.

Call me crazy, but I just felt a lack of creativity in the whole product. Yes, the gameplay has it's intricacies, it's just nothing that hasn't been done before. Not to mention that painful soundtrack, just because something is orchestrated doesn't mean it's good, and the LOS soundtrack perfectly illustrates that point.

And at least it's breaking its 2D boundaries and expanding into an actually good 3D environment. Sure, God of War started the combat style. But thats no reason to say LOS is COPYING and not worth playing. Look at the CoD franchise. They certainly weren't the first to develop "first-person shooter" games, but they're very well respected

I didn't base my entire opinion off of the game's soundtrack, and I didn't call it a god of war clone, I said the formula did nothing to distinguish itself from the Devil May Cry formula established years ago. Were it to be based off of the DMC/GOW formula (I actually like DMC), that would be fine, but at the end of the day I don't see anything that distinguishes it from those respective games.

@jfalconi3 I think another problem is that not all Castlevania fans wanted this change. Change is good, yes, but I think a lot of people would like to see a sequel to SOTN. Iga's established formula does need a fresh twist, no one really wants another metroidvania clone (as good as the games are). As a longtime an of the series, it just doesnt stand worthy IMHO.
