  • 2 questions one is it just above the water you cut it or can I pick the whole plant? and 2 cooking how long for do you imerse the watercress straight into boiling water? what method do you use many Thanks in advance

  • If you were in a survival situation, you could still observe for obvious evidence of cattle using the water-source.

  • how would you know if the water source was ok? especially if you are in a survival situation and happen upon it?

  • If you are unsure of the source, then it's best cooked as that will kill flukes. Otherwise, watercress can be a bit of a gamble, and probably left alone in that situation.

  • Just to be clear; we're not necessarily teaching 'survival' in this video. This will be part of a Wild-Food series that we will be doing, designed for the causal forager, not delivered in a survivalist format merely showing what will sustain.

    So working on that pretence; the casual forager will have all the time in the world to observe and review their water-source, time won't be an issue as it's not a survival-situation.
