Just a quick question? Is there really any reason to use this section and category thing? Don't you have to create the menus anyway? I am thinking right now that it would be easier to leave everything uncategorized.
This is an excellent tutorial. I'm not a developer just an author trying to build my website booksbyememgenesis using joomla 1.5. I came across several tutorials on joomla 1.5 and didn't understand them until I came across yours. This is user friendly and very easy for people like me to understand. Joomla should pay you to be a consultant because their guide was not clear either. Thank you very much.I'm going to start working on my website now.
@Sveken With Joomla 1.5 articles must be stored under a category and every category must be stored under a section. So you are not able to simple have an article stored under just a category, there is also the option of categorized. If you are using Joomla 1.6 however, they changed this so that there are only categories and you can have each category a child to another category if you wanted. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks ALot it to nice
