  • McIndoe was a great man, and I take my hat off to those brave men. Thank you.

  • 2.34, the nurse is my grandmother :)

  • @theflyingdutchman13 Awesome! She must have had such wonderful memories of McIndoe and the work they did. She must have been a real angel to the patients who went through so much yet maintained their high spirits.

  • Hello! Did you have the original piece of footage for this film per chance? I am preparing a documentary for the hospital's website and I'd love to use some of the original footage.. just trying to track it down! Any help you could give would be fantastic, many thanks

    Helen

  • mcindoe is amazeing what he done for all those people is brilliant and it's really sad I think as well what happened to all those men but it's loveley to see them all so full of life and liveing there normal lives to the full that to me is brilliant and if anybody out of the video sees this message I'm really sorry for what happened to you all those years ago I really do and I feel for you all but it's so nice to see you all doing well godbless to you all and good luck take care. stephen BSc.

  • He was written about in a WWII novel. Y'all should read it. it's a pretty good book

  • Agreed. I think his humanity sets him aside. Yes, he loved the publicity and the acclamation, but he really cared for his boys. The length he went to in order to help them to feel wanted was extraordinary. His willingness to badger the authorities to find his boys the jobs they wanted was evidence of his care. He used his own money to help some to set up businesses. The ultimate verdict must come from his boys: they loved him, they returned year after year to celebrate his effect on their lives.

  • such a brilliant man. He really was brilliant and he went beyond the requirements of the job by constantly caring for the boys and trying to help them socially fit back into the community as well.

a trually amazing guy its very sad he died at 60 :(

  • McIndoe is the one!
