  • "old rusty piece of crap" should see my 240z... well it's not crap or rusty, and it has had an engine rebuild several times. But yours looks so much nicer, you still have your chrome D:

  • I like both Chris' 240 and your 280....

  • pinche gordo farol

  • IT MUST BE COOL TO LIVE IN TEXAS, WITH ALL THE LONG STRAIGHT ROADS TO HAUL ASS UP AND DOWN

  • this looks liek state road 3 south of new castle indiana

  • 9 psi only huh i like the vid hmm last time i check my 300zx twin turbo is 27psi

  • @drift18Japan the 300zx tt is an entirly different car and is also a 1000 pounds heavier, that engine alone without turbo is pretty fast, you turbo it and did what he did you really dont need any more boost

  • @drift18Japan the engine on the 240*

  • out of the 240z , 260z and 280z the 240z blows the other 2 out of the water straight classic.

  • Imagine if the thing could hook up. Fender flares would kind of destroy the look of the car (unless done out of metal with painstaking attention to detail). Maybe mini-tubs?

  • The camera man looks like Andy off of according to jim. You know the tv show

  • dont drive that is devil!!!

  • i would take that color blue on any car........any day!!!! i like what you did with the car

  • rims?

  • both of you have DAMN NICE z's.

hopefully i can get my running and start to mod it out.

  • Do you think i can put a brand new motor from nissan in a datsun? and would it work

  • interesting color choice

  • Holy crap, that machine idles like a v8! I like it!

  • Great car, great color, great build and great ideas for a future project I'm considering for myself! It's nice to hear someone be able to intelligently discuss their build. You actually understand what's under the hood, rather than just bolting in a bunch of crap. It's obvious you know the car and did a great job building it. Keep it up!

  • Most people have the front spoiler but I like the lines of the car without it. Great sound and great color.

  • Yeah but how often do you come to see those cars, I was referring more into the R200 in the 280zx's there everywhere at least you can spot em around junked up or at salvaged yards.

  • Yep

  • L series turbo (L28ET) just for the info, swapping a V8 your definitly gonna want that R200, you'll bust you stock R180

  • If you install an R200 3.54 gears or R200 3.90 gears off the 280zx's you should be fine my 81 280zx non turbo came with a R200 3.90 and swapped a turbo L seriers motors holds up just fine with 160,000 plus miles I never heard of em breaking.

  • @MIZQUITLI You forgot about the 4.11 out of the late 80's turbo 200sx.

  • Nice car, horrible colour

  • super cool z, sick burnout, parts for that car are kinda pricey, pay to play huh, save the z's!!!

  • hey im currently rebuilding my Datsun 240z im dropping a 350 small block with a supercharge in it and im wondering what you used for a rear end on your Z...something strong enough to hold all the power.

  • ...from a former Z owner, very nice! My 280 was a rustbucket. Probably less than a problem down there in Texas,

  • i guess it is impossible to find in europe

  • I love that you havent riced the whole car. Now please dont do anything stupid. Its a sweet ride as it is!

  • @moderns30,

your an idiot "5 lbs of boost on a n/a motor?"

maybe you should know what your talking about before you talk shit, if you look closely you can see he has the turbo motor via the valve cover..... and telling the builder whether or not he has forged internals? really your a fucking idiot

  • you guys are funny ahhaha ,nice car i would love to get one

  • Sah-weet Z, Chris! I'm just about done putting the heater back in my '72. Not fun but not as bad as I thought it'd be. New core, and refurbished the heater box and control panel. It's minus 2 degrees here so heat will be nice!

  • my first car was a 280zxt....I wrecked it. But im in the process of putting that motor in a 240 that i got for free...I just wanted to know what kind of muffler is that. sounds fucking amazing. I had glasspacks on mine.

  • Its a glasspack style straight through 3 inch muffler and full exhaust

  • wow nice ride man keep it up.

  • I did not think that had an inline six in it when I first heard it in the video! I have an early 74 260 that poeple keep telling me to put a V-8 in, but I love the sound of the six. The good part about mine is I'm running 240 non emmission head and SU carbs. It also has headers and dual exhaust w/Supertrapps exiting the center of the rearend. This video is just what I need to finish rebuilding the motor. (#3 big end bearin dissapeared!) Thanks! (Love the color by the way!)

  • thank you

  • Pretty car ---

  • Fort Worth? What part?

  • west ft worth

  • Ft Worth, TX?

  • yes

  • Sweet, I'm in the southwest

  • Now that's some serious mashine you got there :) I like it allot. Fairlady rlz :) greets from Bulgaria =]

  • oops, sorry i hit the thumbs down on you by accident.

  • Damn i wish my 260z can do that!

  • Drop that paper into your Z and make it fly brotha.

  • Devil Z I tell you!!! DEVIL Z!!!!

  • is that the stock motor? what have yo done to it if it is?

  • yes stock built motor. he says in the video all that he did to it.

  • no its not, its probably a 280zx motor, there isnt a turbo L24 ever made. I know this because thats what the guys at motorsports told me to do if I was gonna put a turbo in my 240z.

  • Its a built L28ET from an 81-83 280zx turbo

  • exactly what I expected, really cool. but I want to put a turbo on my 240z but with the stock motor, do you think it can be done? or maybe a supercharger imstill thinking about what to do with it.

  • You could turbo an l24 but there really isn't any point, you will blow it up in a jiffy, find a 280zx-t donor car, pull the motor, reseal it all make sure its clean and sorta refreshed, wire it up and throw it in, will be alot better, or go the RB or SR route.

  • since when would an L24 blow up easily?

  • Running the amount of boost that Big-Phil or Chris here are running. The stock cast internals of an L24 would not be able to handle that. IIRC this 240z's engine is making around 400hp? Looking at your name I already know your a honduh fan though. You think 5 pounds of boost running on an N/A motor is Mad Tyte JDM yo.

  • first of all dont judge me....you'll end up lookin stupid like you will by the time you finish readin this. this is my brothers profile im just viewing and commenting as i go.... I dont need to prove myself ill leave you with some dignity. i own a 78 datsun 280z. so cut the honda shit. take that shit somewhere else respect all cars. And you should stop that copy and paste attitude....the block is cast the internals are forged steel....in otherwords prettymuch bulletproof

  • moderns30,

Cast internals of a L24? You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. ALL L series motors have forger internals and a very common thing to do on 3.1 stroker L motors is to run L24 connecting rods with custom pistons. So try again fella.

  • @SLVRBLLT40 Pistons are not forged, rods and crank are, pistons won't handle it.

  • this is the stuff we like on youtube lol

  • what exhaust are you running

  • its straight 3 inch, with a 3inch in, 3 inch out non restrictive muffler.

  • with the stock exhaust manifold how much hp can it take till it cracks or something because i got a l24 block from my dads old 240 witch ive only seen pix of so i want to pick up a Z car and swap that motor in it

  • the stock one wont crack. Its thick as shit cast iron. This one is ported and has a T4 turbo flange.

  • datsun is nissan right?

  • yes

  • nice work man. where the hell do you live? I want a driveway that I can burn out in.

  • 20 miles south of Dallas Texas.

  • amazing car

  • does he have a line lock on that

  • no it does not

  • well when he did that burnout in the begining of the video he didnt rev the rpms high and didnt pop the clutch and he didn't even move

  • you don't have to. Its not a 4 cylinder. Its got the power to step on the brake, and give it some gas to spin the tires.

  • well on the next video u make can u show me how its done

  • chance to burn tires? SURE!

  • o by the way my name is andy

  • 0:06- good-ol Datsun motorboat :-)

  • I would love to race one of these in my Bone Stock 74 Chevy Vega through a tight twisty road!

  • That sounds like fun!

  • you should paint it midnight blue . it has the same rims the devil z has.

  • Very nice z it reminds me of my 72 that I just bought.

  • My dad had 1 of does there hella sick

  • SICK BURN OUT IN THE BEGINNING

  • Any1 know what the insurance is like on a datsun 240z? i have been plannin on gettin one for a while and it is my dream car! been lookin into them and it seems the cheapest i can pick up a nice clean one is around 5k. not bad for a datsun.

  • How old are you and what is your driving record? Its pretty damn cheap. Id opt for a smidge more though to actually cover your losses in case of an accident, if its in your budget to do so.

  • Damn! that sounds like it's got 8 cylinders. very nice car

  • Beautiful car.

  • hey how much r the 83 engines

  • what kind of seats are those? Im planing on buying some brown or leather colord sparkos

  • ---i am selling a 1971 240z and a 1974 260z...NO RUST!! READY TO DRIVE OR RESTORE!! E-MAIL ME INFO....pic link attched to my channel!

  • Can anyone reply to me on this question?

Could this car fit me comfortably?

Me being an Asian guy, 5'11", 205 lbs.

I could barely fit in my boy's '86 Corolla, I head rubbed against the headliner.

  • I'm 6'3" 240lbs and fit very well. Plenty of foot and head room.

  • Haha, thanks alot for the response.

I'm planning to purchase one from overseas.

Again, great car, great video and nicely done burnout/launch.

    A+++

  • its from an 83 280zx turbo

  • your engine sounds so damn beautiful!

  • chaike my vid 4 zx240

  • looks like fun

  • oh yes, have you seen the 17lbs of boost video I just put up?

  • 8:1 I think? I think he says in the video?

  • What compresion is he running to be able to take the presure of 17-18psi boost?

  • He just turned it up to 17 psi!!

  • yes we like it on youtube

  • I was waiting for someone to say that!! Thanks SEUNB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Insanely awesome

  • do they do a video on the 240z or 280zx at 2:20 the black one

  • yes

  • Needs a front air damn me thinks.

  • he thinks the same thing.

  • Did you run braided fuel lines all the way up or did you use aluminum lines with steel braided ends? Sexy Z!!

  • braided

  • god i want a 240z so bad its definitly my dream car

  • lol i drive one and im 16.

  • thats sick ur lucky

  • can't believe how quick it spooled up very nice build

  • Is the engine stable, since its running on 9 lbs of boost?

  • Aside from the retarded cameraman, this is a pretty nice 240. Good build.

  • HEy I got a question about the tranny options... I hear they only have 4 speed manuals offered in the US... well on 240's that is... So is that a 5 speed or a 4? And is what I hear true?

  • Its a 5 speed from a later 280zx car

  • I bet it wont run with my 07 Toyota Yaris with 106 hp!

  • question:..for those rims on chris's car did he have to get new spindles are were the stock ones the right size..and the spindle for a 240z are the same for a 280z 78 ?

  • big phil u fat ass

  • My Stepdad has a Yellow Z, sik as hell. Completely Rebuilt. Don't know to much about em, But I drive it once in awhile, and sure kicks ass.

  • What compresion is chris running? Car runs great. I'm curently building one as well. I'll make a video of the build sometime soon.

  • 8 to 1

  • Good Gravy! I like this model and the 92' version. I wish i could have one of these. Excellent!

  • awesome fucking car!! but phil you gotta watch your elbows lol

  • a hole lot of torqe

  • holy shit what an animal .old skool mate the best ;)

  • shite my mum n dad told me they were gettin a datsun 240z and i did't no wot it was. so i checked it out and boy i am excited

  • what a fucking absolute MONSTER, lol, that would eat the shit out of a stock r34 any day.

  • and its only running 9 psi

  • я хочу эту машину, и я ее куплю. Жаль что у нас в России ее не продают...

  • Man! how cool it is. You should check on "Wangan Mignight", Z car anime on yt.

  • Where is your shop located?

  • ft worth

  • wot time does it do a quater mile in?

  • not sure? 400 wheel HP(@20 lbs boost)---2400lb car.

  • gotta love the old z cars...I have a 280zx that im getting ready to make a summer project..

  • I'm digging it man! I want a 240z turbo!!

  • Nice "rusty old datsun" haha

    Keep the shiny side up!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • No fronting allowed. That Z is potent. Anyone can put put $800 in a sound system and have "a little something" in that respect. It takes skill and thousands of dollars to turbocharge a car AND get it to hook up well with the road. Looks like that is just what has happened in this case.

  • Yes that 240z is an awesome car, at least 100hp more than mine will ever see!

  • damn! that car is rediculous!!! love the fact that it still has a L series engine!! respect.

  • nice

  • That intake looks custom....if it is who fabbed it? and do you have drawings?

  • I have to ask him who made it for him.

  • Now Chris will have even more wheelspin at the drag strip! My miata might actually take him next time... or he'll go by me at the line 35mph faster instead of 20! Insane.

  • luv it!

  • yup.. gotta get me one of those..hehe

  • Thats it, you done it now . My 260z has sat in the garage for 12 yrs . The T04 (sourced from a bus )has gone rusty , the intercooler has corroded and the exhaust has fell off long ago. I fitted the turbo after gettin tired of cosworth sierras back in the early 90,s and yes 9 - 12 psi is a huge power increase even on an old school blow through carb system. It has to be resurrected ! Thank you for your inspiration.

  • Phil, I'm going to have to charge you for the 1/8" of tires that Chris left in front of your house. --Beck

  • It was'nt me, it was the one armed man!

  • man that is a BAMF. sounds mean!!

  • more more more i live in arlington tx running a 06 monte carlo SS know any places that will install a transmission and do a good job "slushbox" rebuilt by raptor to handle my turbo
