Right, born and raised Roman Catholic did 5 of 7 sacraments, went to a private catholic shool for 7 years religion class 5 days a week church 3 days a week and Sunday school every week and I wasnt a Chrisitian? It is obnoxiuos to claim atheists are ignorant assuming they have not been exposed to "both" perspectives. First, an atheist may have been a Christian at one time, and two, an atheist can easily study Christianity without believing it. There are also thousands of other religions in the world other than Christianity; how many of those have you read up on?
First, there is no "ex-christian"... kind of like what this video is talking about. Second, it's true atheists can study Christianity without believing in it, but how far do they study up to? Do they get the whole package? Or are they just taking a glimpse at it from far away with a biased view? I havn't studied the other religions deeply so yes, I guess that makes me pretty one-sides, too; however, compared to atheists who disregard any religion, I think I can say I am more "informed".
While I like the idea of being able to say I never was a Christian, but I am pretty damn sure I used to a Christian. I was raised a Christian, I believed strongly that Jesus was my savior, and I held fundamentalist positions in my belief, so it reasonably safe to say I was indeed a Christian.
As for an atheist having a biased view with regards to religion, I would say a lack of belief in a particular religion gives one more of an objective view when studying it. Right, born and raised Roman Catholic did 5 of 7 sacraments, went to a private catholic shool for 7 years religion class 5 days a week church 3 days a week and Sunday school every week and I wasnt a Chrisitian? I became very unhappy, which was very unusual for me because I was very joyous in the Lord. However, I am now very happy and fulfilled in life. I have come to realize, it was not God that I ultimately turned away from. It was Faith. And if there is an all loving God, then I would expect that he would be at least as capable as me morally. I know if I had created my children, I would ultimately want them to learn to be happy and make each other happy.

Before converting I had studied the other religions, therefore I had an objective view of the religions (according to your logic). hmm that's a good question =). Well I, for one, don't know the answer to that. Maybe God does... actually God does know. But all I can say is, maybe it's just too early to say that. People believed some cancer, disease, or virus couldn't be cured, but later in history, cures were found. I personally believe all good things (including technology) is from God. Technology is incredible these days, but wait until several decades later, you never know.

I just wanted to say that I am sorry for being negative in my previous comments. But I still maintain the stance that if you want to understand people then you should attempt to learn about them. This includes their lifestyles and religious beliefs. But if you are unaware of their ways that is not your fault. Religion should be used to propel people to want to understand others instead of judging them. I like the video you made about how many prophecies Jesus fulfilled. That was awesome.♥

That is NOT what John 2:19 says, at all. You need to research verses before you use them. John 2:19 states " Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

The early Christians were really Messianics. They were Torah-observing Jews who believed in the Messiah, Yeshua.

Once Paul found all the scattered tribes of Israel aka the "Firstfruits" of Revelation 14:4, then he changed the way he taught towards the Gentiles.

I see what you mean. We are all ONE in Jesus Christ regardless if gentile or Jew.
Messianic Jews believe Jesus as Lord but keep old testament laws and codes that Paul taught against actually 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 "To a Jew I became a Jew, to win Jews. To those under the law I became under the law to win those under the law...."
So in a way I believe the first followers of Christ weren't really Messianics because of the teachings. Jesus is the firstborn of every creature Colossians 1:15.

Yes, we are all one in Christ but the 12Tribes have a higher regard as you can see in Revelation.
That's why the Disciples and Paul made it a priority find those scattered Tribes, the same tribes that James addresses in his Epistle.

There are countless people who were indoctrinated in Christianity as children, but became atheists after they grew up - especially people who who went into the sciences.
And the dictionary defines Christians as those who actively believe, not those who used to believe.
BTW, you do know don't you, that the whole mythology of the Jesus messiah was stolen from ancient pagan religions that predated Christianity, right down to "His" birthday?

There was an excellent documentary on the Nat Geographic channel, about Applonius (sp?), and other competitors of Jesus back then, who were also trying to fill John the Baptist's prophecy.
Applonius was at one time, more popular than JC. He was said to have walked through walls and done other miracles and of course, to have been crucified and then resurrected.
You would have been worshiping him today, if JC hadn't had better PR people:-)

I used to be christen and i was way more christen then most people i was very devoted, baptized and "filled with the holy spirit" even spoke in tonges and unless you do that your not a real christen read john 3:5-6 damn this is why people hate christen so much. they only follow the parts they want and then think their better then everyone.

I used to be a christian. I believed in Jesus Christ. I loved him, prayed to him, read the bible, did good works in his name, preached the gospel, felt what I referred to as his presence.
Furthermore, if I thought that I believed but didn't truly, then how could I know if I believed. If I asked god to save me but he didn't, then how could I be saved?

Sorry, this definition doesn't cut it, dragonhunter1011. If I profess (declare or claim) I'm a professional football player that does not make me one. Also one can follow and practice the teachings of Christ and still not be regenerated, such as Judas.
