Went to a pig farm once and they chopped off the piglets tail and ripped out their baby teeth with out a sedative.

I have tattoos, they hurt, they wouldn't give them sedatives if it didn't make them have a fit!! Their skin still has surface nerve endings, that's why they're used as test animals for skin irritation! They get the same inflammation and antibodies etc.

I have also dealt with young pigs and they're as soft as anything.

They wouldn't be trying to get away and have to be sedated if that were the case.

but yeah, spermicide is tested on pigs because their parts are pretty much the same as far as irritants go.

Not many people know about animals, in general. I lived in the country my whole life up until recently, and I'm going back... but people that have never really been interested in learning everything they can just don't know animals have feelings. I've had reptiles, birds, cats, a dog, a rabbit, played with baby pigs, and adults... made a wild bird into a near pet just by paying attention to him (and I love him!) you know, it takes exposure to the animals to see how incredible they are.

Its true, I used to work on a pig farm, and they are abused. Their testes are ripped out when they are still awake, their milk teeth are cut while awake, their ears are pierced with at least twenty needles all at once and then the marks are inked. All this is done to PIGLETS and within 5 min. Once a sow had a large pus filled sore on her shoulder, rather than give her a sedative and deal with it surgically, it was stabbed with a testes knife and squeezed. These pigs are spoiled by comparison.
