While I understand people's concern and obviously I would want to teach the child the difference of when and when not to put their hand in and what/what not to put their hand in....people are freaking out too much. This doesn't even look like a swimming pool in general...looks like a hot tub or something. The water is probably still over her head, but the parent is the one filming. Obviously, of something happened, I'm sure they would have put the camera down and helped her. C'mon, people.

you idiots do realize the suction pipe for a skimmer is about 2 feet in the ground from the opening in the pool right? You could sit in the skimmer and nothing would happen. Pool drain. Maybe. Skimmer, impossible unless you remove the plastic net and stick your arm 2 feet down.

This is not a cute video at all. You should do some research on suction entrapment. There are many reported fatalities involving children, some have sat on drains because they tickled and literally got their intestines sucked out of them. That is a skimmer, it also sucks like the main drain but almost always have a perforated cover. Keep in mind both kinds of drains CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS INDEED. Teach your kids not to KEEP AWAY from those devices. Many people have already died because of carelessness of the pool's owners in making the pool's comply with standards (which by the way, still lacks a consistent legistlation in the US, they're waiting for more victims).
