Yes, how Consett's changed over the years. I so remember the Empire Theater looking like that all them years ago. I can also remember seeing the steel works as well when I was only a child walking up what we now call the new road. As for the comment made by pmorley15, well, the only word I can come up with for that is 'confused'.

I was 5 years old when the Steel Works shut where my Dad worked. I can remember going as a family to watch them blowing the big chimneys up.
