You can watch the fight again and see that when BJ was trying to keep his feet on GSP's sholders to prevent him from ground and pounding from the half gaurd, GSP's sholders were really slippery. Even Joe rogan said, its really slippery in the third round because of sweating and stuff, but it turns out its not just sweating.
gsp has the advantage of being athletic, for instance he could probably run a marathon or any obstacle course in half the time bj would in this allows for better all around body control and movement through a whole fight and not just explosiveness and technicality.

@jackhammer614 gsp is way way bigger than bj... gsp walks around at 185-190 bj walks around at 166. and when they cut weight they are just losing water weight but they dont lose any muscle at all gsp is like 180 pounds the day of the fight. bj has to gain weight to make 170. gsp is much much much much bigger and stronger than bj. you cant tell that if gsp could cut to 155 that bj wouldnt beat him

@jackhammer614 Rofl it is in his daily blog... go to bjpenn official and they cut water weight. on the day of the fight gsp is just as big as he is when he walks around at 190. water weight doesnt affect size. bj penn looks very chubby at welter weight for a reason he has to put on weight to get there google it look on his daily blog gsp is not only taller but he is much much heavier and much much stronger

I love GSP and he is my favorit fighter, but I think that the vaseline thing affected the fight alittle. You can watch the fight again and see that when BJ was trying to keep his feet on GSP's sholders to prevent him from ground and pounding from the half gaurd, GSP's sholders were really slippery. Even Joe rogan said, its really slippery in the third round because of sweating and stuff, but it turns out its not just sweating.

gsp has the advantage of being athletic, for instance he could probably run a marathon or any obstacle course in half the time bj would in this allows for better all around body control and movement through a whole fight and not just explosiveness and technicality.

GO BACK AND WATCH THE FIGHT. It was an even match in round 1. GSP took BJ down round 2. Bj foot kept sliding off easily without GSP doing anything. After round 2 BJ was tired and beaten up. Chuck Liddell saw the greasing after round 1, and if you notice the commissioner goes to GSP corner at the end of round 2. please go back and watch the fight. Even Joe Rogan commented on how slippery GSP was in rounds 3. The man was greased and there needs to be 3rd fight because it changed the outcome.

@ 130kali. I am a GSP fan, but I hate to say it your right. However a member of NSAC came in to the octagon wiped down GSP's torso. They tested it, and found barely any traces of vaseline. Does BJ have the right to complain? Yes. Will BJ getta rematch? No.

He did. Chuck Liddell saw the greasing going on between round 2, and 3 and the commissioner went and warn GSP corner at the end of rounds 3 and 4. Joe Rogan even commented on how greaser GSP was in round 3, but had no clue of the allegation. Go back and watch the fight, the fight dramatically changes after round 2.
