I'm no ricer fan, but the civic does it's intended job (economy car) very well. Although, even if one had enough power to beat, say, a Cobra - it would probably have dangerous amounts of torque steer and would be a pig to drive. And I don't know any civic that sounds as good as a big American (or German, or Italian) V8. Most civic guys completely neglect upgrading the brakes with increased performance as well, which just adds to the danger.
