Wow the gears are so short... My car usually redlines at 35mph 1st gear and 60 second.

@843Dylan ?? how can it gain 20 more mph with only 2rpm's left 6-8k? Most cars redline at 35 and it wont go further...

@Specialized1993 Well I have a 2000 BMW and the 1st gear redline is 40 mph, the second gear redline is 60 mph, third redline is 80 and it is a 5 speed automatic that tops out at 142. I never took that over 100 yet but getting ready to sell it and get either a miata or a 240sx.

How do you go about removing the resonator? Is it illegal to do so? Or is it just to dampen the sound?

@tommiedatrip Most of the time a resonator is the make the car have a deeper sound.

nice car, i love mazdaspeeds. crazy gear ratios tho, 3rd gear ends at 60? my IS goes to 60 in 2nd gear but i also have a 5spd

Most 6-speed cars are like 5-speeds, just with an extra gear, mine is actually short geared.

FlyinMiata DP with high flow cat and then the muffler and resonator from the stock system have been removed.

Pretty damn quick. I LOVE the mazdaspeed lineup. thinking about getting a MS3 soon for a daily driver.

Yea I love mine. The MS3 has potential to be a lot faster though, bigger engine, more support, both part and tuning wise, it's a great car.
