You can tell that they were using the Alpha gameplay in it... which to me seems like it would be pretty cool to play with, more of a Descent engine than a FreeSpace one...

I will say this though, this footage makes the game look considerably more Descent-like than the final game.

Also the reason they had the Descent prefix because just FreeSpace on it's own was copyrighted by a CAD program.

I don't know why they kept trying to relate Freespace to the Descent series, they have nothing to do with each other
