  • What The hell ... That was Broadway Joe Wasn't it?????

  • @spudone1000 I know I saw the dad from Teen Wolf

  • It still draws a crowd today

  • With all the muscle cars available back in the late 60's early 70's my dad had to buy a stripped down bare bones 6 cylinder Ford Fairlane, save gas and money he would always say. Hard to change peoples thinking after living through the depression.

  • It's a shame Moderner cars just don't sound the same...

  • i have a yellow one with black stripes...it was advertised as having a 396 but it has a 402

  • CHIEFTP...STEALING THE HOLE ENGINE HAHAHAHA..SOMEBODY STOLE THE CANISTER FROM MY 4RUNNER TOYOTA

  • Got one. But mine is a Fathom Blue SS454.

  • Oh yeah..now we're fuckin' talkin'...we're really fuckin' talkin' badass car!

  • good thing i have one with a 454

  • its only a 396 xD

  • my 2nd favorite car!! (no1 is the 69 dodge charger)

  • Nigga unda tha hood is no good.

  • There seems to be no demand for a mid-size American made coupe. At least that's what Ford and GM must believe.

  • what that black guy lifting the hood - he's probably going to steal the battery.

  • my dad had a 70 with a 307 and 4 doors. didnt turn any heads... : (

  • @azeleapark 307 and 4 doors, nuff said

  • I just tried to order one at my local Chevy dealer, they said they are on back order, what a bummer!

  • I have a 72 chevlle

  • Back when Chevy made real cars, it made cars out of steel and were pieces of art, not like the piece of shit cars Chevy makes now. I guarantee that if Chevy started making cars pieces of art, quality, and pure American brute force like they did in the 60's and 70's, they would be absolutely impossible to beat.

  • @zeppelin27901 i have a '70 chevelle ss 454, and i also have a '06 chevy cobalt, i had a friend drive my cobalt and i had the chevelle and we had a race and my chevelle creamed my cobalt

  • i had the option of the 396ss but i ended up with the 454 ss

  • @guitarplayer5293

And that's the problem right there. Everyone expects the car to look EXACTLY like it did back then. That's not what GM was going for. They were aimed with the task of designing a modern 69 Camaro that was more modern that retro. It's clearly got Camaro blood and a real Camaro enthusiasts can clearly c the similarities. People complained about the 4th gens but now everyone wants them cuz they're performance bargains.

  • I wouldn't have ordered the 396SS one, I'd have ordered the 454 LS6:)

  • What they mean by that is its a attention grabber /head turnee

  • So, if you buy this car, you'll never be able to drive it because people will be crowding you the whole time. That's not really "on the move."

  • The only thing that woudl be better in this commercial if it would have been a LS-6 454, the King Kong !!

  • THIS IS AMAZING COMMERCIAL

  • omg the sound <3 incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • and the big three wanna know why their having "issues"...it's because there cars don't look like that anymore. Now just imagine if Ford,GM and Chrysler (sorry, Fiat)...Now just imagine if Ford,GM and Fiat started churning out old school styled muscle cars.Personally i'd love to see a "new" Chevelle and could you imagine how much HP they can get out of a 7 liter engine now?To bad that GM fuck up with old's and Pontiac....classic muscle cars still the best.

  • @brooklyntheredone If they made a Chevelle today it might wind up being a four door like the Charger because the Camaro is huge now.

  • Out of all the old cars that have been remade, why was this one left out!? Come on Chevy get it together! Would love to see the Chevelle SS back on the road!

  • Would be interesting to see the twist on it. I think they did a good job on the Camaro.

  • @888shockwave I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the Camaro. I think they did a horrible job on it. It looks nothing like the old one.

  • 396 is what started it all......

  • To any 70 Chevelle SS fan- I have uploaded the original Dealer Bill of Sale which has been with my Chevelle in the glove box since June,1970. It is interesting to see what certain options cost back then. Recorded in HD, it is clear to see.

  • This the Challenger, 70's Charger, GTO, Mustang, are my fav.

  • @RemnantSRT440 That is a good grocery list!

  • This predator, usually hunts at night although not fully nocturnal. It prefers a diet of big block Mopar, and is carnivorous in nature. This meat eater should be approached with extreme caution. It's always open season and there are no limits.

  • @TropicalConfederate a real car man knows there's no better muscle than MOPAR. although i like the chevelle

  • favorite car. nothin' stands in front of a chevelle

  • @nathanisthetruth except a corvette ;)

  • The guy at 0:44 looks like the guy that played Caretaker in the original "The Longest Yard" movie.

  • @meangreen69Nova yeah, it is the guy who played caretaker, james hampton.

  • yea. the tough one! this is back when they werre new and arnt infected with loads of rust and rot

  • i wanted to see it move, and them talk about how "good" it handles :) nah im just teasing i wouldnt expect a classic ford to really do any better either.

  • a;oeiurytqpeoirhgadpfoiuygsadpogjafpdogiasudpoadifygaoigdupaodfiuygaposdiuaersuhtfpoasdiufgpoadutfapoidsutapoidsut

sorry i had to wipe my jizz off the keyboard

  • My dads freind had one of these back when they were in high school and it was modified a little for the track and had the back seats riped out and all but he stomped on the thing too much on the road and the thing literaly fliped over itself can you imagine that thats just crazy how the heck is it that we could make basic cars in the 70s that had 3 times as much power as the average car today and they were dirt cheap

  • Do you really think GM had to advertise to sell this car?

  • The good ol' days!

  • Yeah they knew right from the start that this would draw a crowd

  • #1 muscle car ever i wish i could buy me one=)

  • same steering wheel as my 69 Camaro

  • They should bring this back one day.

  • she sounds neece

  • 0:25 that guy played Teen Wolf's dad in the 80's movie!

  • id kill for this car no joke

  • The only thing I hate about chevelles.... People allways want you to make it look like their goddamn dream car not your own.

  • I want one

  • the 454 is better xD

  • @taz275 305 is better

  • Comment removed

  • @PacRatx07 how is it better, to my knowledge you cant do much with a 305, and it doesnt generally have alot of power

  • @PacRatx07 305's are boat anchors you might as well get a 350 305 is just a waist of money

no disrespect at all i love everything pre- 1973 that was when cars were cars not peices of plastic rolling around on fwd drive trains ..... :'( what has chevy come too?

  • @taz275 305 is better

  • @PacRatx07 no offence man, but i don't see how a 305 is better than the 454......thats 149 cubic in. difference........and alot more horsepower + torque can go into the 454 compared to the 305, jus sayin tht bigger engines put out mor torque which means tht it'll get off the line quicker, 454 is better in my own opinion

  • @npfast9 weight ratio may be???

  • @taz275 454 is more of a truck engine

  • No Better 70s Old School Period!!!!

  • I have a 69' chevelle with a 454 in it. I'm extremely grateful to have it. She's a real road king.

  • I had a teacher in high school that had one of these. His was black and the stripes on the hood and rear deck were white. We all thought it was the coolest car in the parking lot. A bit of trivia: by 1970 the engine had been bored out to 402 cu. in., but Chevy still called it the "396" to avoid confusion with their small block 400 cu. in. V8.

  • sorry, you can go to any website, type in fastest muscle cars, they all say #1 a cobra,#2 a corvette,#3 a 69 440 roadrunner,#4 a 70 hemi cuda, then the chevelle. personally, i dont consider the cobra or the vette muscle cars, they are sports cars. iam not knocking the chevelle but from personal experience my 70 charger rt never saw the back bumper of any bowtie stock or souped

  • @moparmenace59 your 70 charger is ugly though. 70 chevelle ss looks better than any year of charger.

  • 1970 was the peak of american muslce....the car with the highest factory rated horsepower engine of any muslce ever made would be the

1970 chevelle ss 454 LS6....the ss 396 was respectible but nothing like

    the 454 LS6.....

  • I wish i could go back in time just to be apart of the buying market of raw horsepower. A time when cars were cars, instead of highly crafted reinforced plastic! i will always buy old skool GM instead of anything new unless i had to have it

  • dicarlo57, wide ratio transmissions and highway gear ratios are not the hot ticket for the strip. You say you could blow past nearly anything and still be in third gear? you must not of raced very fast cars , my 70 ls6 454 chevelle with 4.10 gears ran low 13 teens and high 12s completely stock, still own it. Do you still have the gtx? by the way my chevelle still has the original motor trans and rear end (never rebuilt 44k miles) AND HAS NEVER BLOWN UP RACING MOPARS IN FACT HAS NEVER LOST TO ONE

  • what the fuck is your problem? do you feel tough fighting over computer? tell me where you live , ill fucking smash you cunt.. your pathetic..

  • your a fucking faggot , why start a fight over computer ayee? you sad cunt. i dont even know you fool

  • My husband and I have a 67 Super Sport, and it is a head turner! The bucket seats have seat belts, however, none in back.

  • it is nice chevelle

  • I think they filmed this out at el mirage

  • I like how the bias ply tires were considered a highlight .

  • been there...owned one

  • Chevrolet already has a car to smoke the lambo. The 2010 corvette z06. It's true.

  • It's cool how GM made multi-racial commercials back then.

  • @ThrilloVanHouten: Most people today would be beyond surprised by the time this commercial is done playing..............but you know, most people were alright back then too ;-).

  • i suddenly feel the urge to go out and purchase a brand new car from 40 years ago :)

  • One of the extra's is James Hampton,,, actor...... at least it looks like him alot and sounds like him...... He was the Warden guy in Sling Blade

  • yeah...order yours now !! Buy 10, wait 30 years and make $150,000. on each one !!

  • I wanted one then and still do.

  • "Chevrolet - On The Move"

  • Groovy clothes man !

  • O YEAH!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • That ad is seriously messed up, more likely it´ll make you give up on ordering a Chevelle to avoid being stalked to death.

Awesome car though, one of the best of the day

  • they still attract a crowd

  • @lollipopraindrops only bigger!

  • One word... COOOOOOOOOL!!!!!

  • It seems odd that the two best cars have the same body and frame style, Poniac GTO and the Chevrolet Chevelle....

  • Those cars shared the same platform chassis similar to today's pontiac grand prix gxp and chevrolet impala ss of 2006. They did a much better job of making these cars look totally different from each other and they had style.

  • I need one of those....

  • now a days i hate ppl who r wannabe car experts bc they think cars like the lambo and ferari r better but i think this chevelle could smoke a lambo and ferari

  • lambo as you word it are high-end cars! they go over 200 mph! chevelles are good for the 1/4 mile races! plus chevelles weigh almost 1,000 heavier and you would have to modify the suspenion to handle those courses the ITALIAN cars run! you better off using a camero trans-am to compete with those guys in a race!

  • Chryslers are like drive like a Ox-wagon, and I use to eat 383 road runners with my 1970 SS Chevelle, Im 49 years old and I was there in the old days bud, blow smoke up someone else!!

  • no, they were rattle traps and slow as compared with a 383 chryslers. I had a 68 G.T.X that an LS-6 blew up trying to catch. The owner just stood there crying like a woman.

  • lol, a uni-body chrysler guy calling a gm "rallte trap". what a maroon!

  • @dicarlo57: Poor Chevelle :-(................That's one of the reasons why I'd prefer taller gear ratios on whatever muscle car I may end up owning.

  • @MiracleMile90 I honestly never got my" Ass kicked" by any chevelle, 442, or goat. I got my ass kicked a few times by 429 fords on the highway. Gear ratios were 60% of the game. My GTX had a wide ration from first to second and progressivlie closer 2-3-4. I could blow past nearly anything in a quarter mile and still be in third gear, knowing damned well that any gm engine would blow up trying to push it mutch further.

  • @dicarlo57: Yep...............In fact, I had read that some Chargers could hit 150 without messing with anything...........

  • hey i attracted many hott chicks in my ss454

  • It's good to know that the 1970 Chevelle SS has at least enough badass to make up for any lack of badass you may experience while wearing a tight-fitting shirt and a scarf.

  • oh yeah and u can pick up nerdy chicks sweet!!!!!!!!

  • @DeviousZen oddly the car is still cool as hell and thankfully our tastes in clothing has changed.

  • still draws a crowd no matter where you take it. lookin like a yuppie could get you laughed at though lol

  • What color does that car look like to you ? It's hard for me to tell.

  • red w black stripes

  • maybe green with black stripes

  • @65438922 my uncle has one in toledo ohio, it's green with white stripes :-/ bought it for 70 grand and spent another 40 restoring it... only to put 24" rims on it :-(

  • @Veechie4short

No one in their right mind would pay $70k for a Chevelle that isn't even restored. Or put 24" rims on a muscle car, for that matter.

  • @loldecepticonlol no one in their right mind... you must not have television where you live

  • @loldecepticonlol he bought it with 6,000 original miles on it, all original everything functioning including the 8 track. that 40k was just a new interior, sound system, and 600hp 427 with racing exhaust and and trans.

  • @Veechie4short

You're a flaming homosexual, you know that?

  • @loldecepticonlol and you're an idiotic retard for such an absurd, pointless, and immature comment. but here's a hint for class today if it has no corners/ angles its a circle retard, have fun coloring, be sure to stay in the lines

  • @Veechie4short

Have fun making up stories about your imaginary uncle, retard.

  • @loldecepticonlol have fun living life as a cynical hater... what a fuckin loser. smh!

  • @Veechie4short

I'm not hating, just finding it hard to believe.

  • What I would give for one with a factory 454 and 4 speed.....

  • Nowadays? About 60 grand.

  • damn..i cant wait 2 get 1..

  • Yea my dad just bought one its red with black strips. It so nice!

  • That's whatsup.

  • i bet my 1970 nova can trash it

  • i bet my 454 650hp 70 chevelle will trash your nova

  • Those Chevelle's were awesome cars. Back in the day I remember my next door neighbor, who just returned from Viet Nam minus his legs and left arm from his elbow. He ordered a brand new 1970 Chevelle SS454 convertible, red with white top and interior with automatic trans. He had it outfitted with hand controls. I used to envy him every time he drove off in that car. Then one day he was involved in an accident that totaled the car. He survived, good, the car was sold as scrap, sad.

  • The car is awesome but the scarf around the neck is gay as hell

  • wish i could go back in time and buy 3 of these when they only cost $5000 each.

  • actually they only costed 3222 bucks

  • actually these only costed about 3222 bucks the only things that costed 5000 were the cudas buicks and the corvettes

  • @johnny3400 .............they still cost 5000 but are slighlty lighter with since the 5k one are full of rust holes :)

  • @johnny3400 ya i remember when you could get an impala for a few hundred bucks...

  • Bill Bonds from Detroit is the back voice and the actor is movie start Jimmie harrington!!!

  • What movie was Jim in ?

  • LOL! Love the add.........even if it is BS..........but since when was truth a factor in commercial advertising?

  • the commercial looks like a sabre in the vice city beach. with people always walking around waiting to get hit.

  • !970 I was 19 years old my boss at the time bought an L-88 454 SS chevelle 4 speed transmission. That thing would flat get up and run. He let me drive it several times do not want any body jissen in their pants but very quick for a heavy car.

  • wow

  • Hood pins baby , not bobby pins, and there real.

  • That's still true 38 years later : )

  • very correct.

  • now more than ever
