  • A Deutz Prime Mover, pulling Cats..I love it !!

  • You have the best trains over there......with nice sounding horns...... they are very fitting for the size and power of the trains.....command due respect.

  • Please accept my video response!

  • What a SWEET sounding horn!!!!

  • nice train vid. luv the caterpillars.

  • @BlancettModeling I didn't see a crash, I'm saying that we waited quite a while for the train to finish crossing, and the ambulance on the other side had to wait for it.

  • I like the idiot who sees the train an turns to go to the next crossing. Probably took him 2 minutes extra to avoid waiting for a 30 second train crossing.

  • Outstanding footage of a rare train. Solo's demonstrate the monstrous ability of these Norfolk Southern workhorses...

  • @dpirick Actually these trains are not that rare, at least where I am from. I live in Illinois and see things like this all of the time, some things even rarer.

  • what kind of horn is that

  • I actually work at Cat and set up this train service with the NS. Every week, we consolidate machines from 3 of our plants in Illinois, and they all depart Decatur, IL, on Thursday. These end up in Savannah, GA, by that Sunday. It's a semi-unit train in that it doesn't have to stop to be measured at interchanges even though it's full of high/wide loads. Cut about 9 days out of our transit time

  • @supermett whats it like gettin to work for cat

  • @supermett I see that train depart Decatur here. Pretty cool stuff!

  • One time, my parents were driving me home from somewhere I don't remember, and there as a train coming and it was going REALLY slow and there was an ambulance on the other side... The train was 53 cars long.

  • To each his own Pattar

  • where was this at? In Hobart, Indiana where I live, the coolest train I've ever seen come through on the NS line was carrying army trucks and it was headed eastbound to Ft. Wayne

  • Hey bud, try this. Type in the search bar: Norfolk Southern NS 058 Military Train BNSF Locos Army Tanks. A video with this exact title should be somewhere in the lineup.

  • Lol any train vids of a train cartin tanks and military vehicles? haha that would be kewl to see...I think omw up to michigan I saw a train w/ army Hummvees on em haha

  • I cant remember exactly the title of the video, but I saw a video of a train hauling miltary tanks about a week ago.

  • Where is this at?

  • A bunch of Norfolk Southern trains come into the rail yard near my house and they are always carrying CATS or John Deere tractors. Its really cool.

  • Hey I saw your coment about NS trains pulling into a yard by your place w/ Cat's and Deer's. Where do you live and is there a place where you can watch them ?

  • These Trains are run as high and wide extras, not on the timetable. NS conductor for 22 years.

  • niice

  • o shit i thought that white car was going 2 go for it

  • nice

  • wow engines pulling themselves

  • norfolk southern and caterpillar what a good combination

  • hey, at least if the locomotive burns out, the rest of the train can pull it. LOL

  • that's awesome. I did see a NS hauling small bobcats on a flat car one time. thanks for the video

  • awesome!

  • Thats either 980 north or 981 south, its from Norfolk, VA and Atlanta, GA or just outside of there.

  • i saw 1 carrying John Deere tractors

  • i saw one in columbia south carolina carrying john deere too :P except it was CSX

  • Now that's some interesting cargo.

  • Love the horn.

  • Pretty cool, This kind of train is common where i live. Once a week i see a train probably 100 cars long pulling nothing but military hummers. Usually the end car has a bulkhead with stuff under wraps. Wonder what it is?

  • VERY NICE. LOVE THE HORN.

  • Hey Was That Chevy trying to race the train?

  • I once saw Northfolk Southern Haul a whole load of nothing but Military Hummers. It was so AMAZING!!!

  • I love the horn.

  • I love the C40-9W

  • I've seen CSX Pull Military hardware!

  • I've seen NS do the same thing.

  • Unappealing? This is a Nathan K5LA horn. Developed in the late 1970s, it is one of the most popular and reliable horns in the U.S.A. The Chessie System and Amtrak adopted it immedietly. Canadian railroads use these horns also, but are tuned differently. Respectfully, to each his own, but the Nathan K series horns are, overall, sweet and melodic sounding.

  • gotta love that horn

  • No, honestly I hate these horns! One train the uk (the class 90) Electric locomotive has a amrican style horn and it just doesnt sound as good.

  • Hell Yeah!

  • i have seen a military train before. The last car had a tank on it

  • Was it CSX?I saw a CSX

  • Nope, Norfolk Southern.

  • That stupid car pulled right in your way!!

  • sweet load. CAT!!!

  • NS trains are nice to look at!

  • this IS COOL

  • MEOW!

  • Look at all them Cat vecihiles.

    Good Video

  • I think this video is cool.

  • Does this train come from Pittsburg and have the ID of NS 053? Because I went to Harrisburg once trying to see this train but someone said it went south towards Georgia.

  • I've noticed NS seems to have some better sounding horns than CSX..Is this a K5LAR24?

  • the railroads tune the horn so that it makes the most unappealing sound possible....to quote a conductor i know its to "put the fear of god in ya" so if anythings near the tracks itll move

  • This was shot at the intersection of buford Highway and abbotts bridge road, in Duluth Georgia.

  • Good horn.

  • great vid Matt

  • Where was this shot at?
