Q*Bert is a great Game I one of the first time that I ever played it was the Commodore 64 on a Commadore 128 system it was great I have also played it in the arcade as well. But the only version that I have currently in my collection is the ATARI 2600 version and it is a good conversion as well(not as good as the C64/128 version) but it is good neither the less.

I remember not liking Qbert precisely because it was more difficult than a Pac-Man or Pitfall. Plus, Qbert would easily commit suicide. You could end up jumping off the pyramid although you had no intention to do so. However, putting myself in the speaker's shoes, I can see why he liked it so much.

I loved the ColecoVision version of Q*Bert.

Gotta admit, though, the 2600 port (which I never saw back in the day) looks better than I would have expected. The animation of Q*Bert's jumping is actually quite smooth. Not bad.

There was actually quite a few Q-bert clones as well as the orginal Q-bert on the C64 i had at least two that I can remember Slinky and Pogo Joe, Pogo Joe being my favorite it had some impressive graphics and some intresting twists on the Q-bert style game play like blocks that would warp you, varying enemies,Stages in which there were gaps between squares, well circles in pogo joe, plus the stages had there own theme like the training level "nothing to it".

Well of course. C64 has 160x200 resolution whereas the Atari game console only had ~25x200 resolution. The C64 also had 8 multicolor sprites but the Atari console only had 2 one-color sprites. And finally the C64 has 64 kilobytes of RAM while the Atari only had 1/8 kilobyte.
