Hey man, I really want to get one of these so that I can smoke inside. I don't fully understand what I need to get started, does an atomizer come with the little place to put fluid? And if I get a USB pass through will I not need to have a separate battery pack?

hi mate,

it uses a liquid that contains propylene glycol, flavouring and nicotine. when the fluid touches the heating coil of the atomiser it then becomes vaporised and produces the smoke (vapour)

but baring in mind that i used to smoke 30 - 40 cigarettes a day, id say that one every now and then is still pretty good going :)

I've just thorrowed my DSE801 to bin because after 2,5 moths the my atomizer has broken, I bought a new one but it was piece of shit. DSE801 is ok only on 1 month. After this time that's RUBBISH!

atomisers for EVERY e-cig model have an average life span of around 4 weeks..........so 2 and a half months is actually rather good!

im not aware of any suppliers that sell the 801 pass thru any more which is why i suggested the 510 pass thru from LF. if its specifically an 801 atomiser that you want to use then you could always get a 510 to 801 adapter :)

a pass thru doesnt use a battery as it runs off the power from the PC. check out the "Mini E-Cigs" section of my website and watch the "LF 510 USB Version" review.........its dead cheap and works extremely well! :)

yes, but do you know why its added to antifreeze? its added to make it LESS dangerous!

the ingredient you refer to is called Propylene Glycol which is found in every day items such make up, toothpaste, medicine etc.........it has excellent anti bacterial properties and is sold on the shelves in chemists to treat sore throats.

a real cigarette has over 4000 cancer triggering chemicals including petrol and anthrax.......electronic cigarettes have NONE!! :)

yes they contain nicotine but you can also get zero nicotine as well. so you can use an e-cig in the same way as the nicotine patches, gum etc and slowly wean yourself off the nicotine by gradually reducing the dosage :)

For one...love your reviews...your definitely my favorite reviewer. That bieng said i have a quick question for yourself or other users who may comment...but I know alot of people have used the e-cig to quit smoking. I have tried...done ok...but just couldnt pull it off. Im normally a pack or more a day smoker and am currently using the "High" liquid...maybe i should up the lvl?? i probably wouldnt advise using a patch in conjunction with an e-cig. definitely try a higher nicotine strength e-liquid as it should help more to remove the desire for a real cigarette.

As far as disposable one's they are the worst. The atomizer will break down in a second , and the quality of the smoke is poor.

Are there any models that just plug into an outlet rather than USB? My sister's a social worker and wants to try giving one to a schizophrenic client who tends to fall asleep with lit cigs, and we want something simpler to give him so he's not having to charge batteries or switch out carts, batts and atomizers regularly.

you can get a usb plug so you can use the mains with the usb pass thru.

other than that, pretty much all e-cigs have carts that are about the equivelant of 4 - 5 cigarettes before they need changing and if using a non usb e-cig then the average battery life is about 3 hours. watch my EVOlution review as that model has good battery life and the atomisers are quite resiliant.

Cheers for that. The EVO and Joye510 were actually my first choices. I'm going to try a cheap disposable to see if I like them first, then I'll drop for a pimp EVO kit from Inno. I'm not a heavy smoker, like rarely more than 1/2 pack a day, but I like the action and social aspect. You know how it is. Eventually I'll go down to the nic-less liquid. What concentration would you go for if you're a light smoker, medium?

i get a lot of questions about the amount of vapour i get from e-cigs! i cant really say that there is a trick to it but i find that taking long, hard and controlled drags gives better results.

how old is the atomiser on your 801? it might be time for a new one if it doesnt produce great vapour like on the video. also bare in mind that this 801 is powered by the PC rather than a battery so that increases the vapour a little too.
