im so mad,,,,,Ive listened all my life and am a drummer, but didnt know the musicianship they had....and Nokie on bass, got me all confused. And I love Herb Albert, Brazil 66,and all the 60's stuff. Like a guy said...I am at the end of the internet. These guys are gods
thanks for that,,,, lol I always keep another window open so I can see who the players are on all these great bands...this one was great.....when life was easier...
This, I believe, was my dad's favorite group. I hear these guys and I am a very little kid again. I was born and raised on the Ventures. There has never, before or since, any group that even comes close to touching them, for instrumental music. RIP Bob!
By an "accident of talent", Bob Bogle was original lead guitarist of The Ventures. When Nokie joined the group, Bob and Don realized Nokie's lead skills were unparallelled, and the lineup changed to Bogle on bass, Nokie on lead. Thus evolved one of the three great bassists in the history of rock: James Jamerson, Bob Bogle and Paul McCartney. In straight "rock and roll", others have equaled those three. None have surpassed them.
Ever since my dad brought home a series of venture records vinyl in 1973 at the age of eight the ventures are the result of my guitar playing the inspiration they have given to so many still lives on inside me as I continue to drive guitars faithfully
There must be a rock n roll heaven.....Bob and Mel are playing there.....RIP both of you....and thanks for giving us your music....it will never be duplicated
The greatest creation of this talented genius..THE VENTURES...BOB BOGLE lives in every music lovers heart...so sad that this great star personality passed away...!!
Thank you for sharing this video, Bigone. I actually have never bought a CD or tape of their music, which is surprising since I enjoy their unique sound. I'll have to add them to my collection in the future. Mr. Bogle has left behind a lovely legacy of music and made use of a God given talent.

No one plays WDR better than Bob. The song still sounds like the the original version back in 1960 or so. RIP Bob B
