As for the hadith, it's not mixed with the Qur'an. Qur'an is a separate book that it's word of God while hadith is sayings of Muhammad (PBUH) who is a human being, so we have to check the authority of the hadith because it transferred from generation to another through people. It's not the case in Qur'an, It's saved in a book since it was first written more than 1400 years ago.
I think a translation should be the same as the source, not changed. The two versions of Bible Deedat talking about are different, one has 37 books while the other has 66 books! Translations of Qur'an are not different, they are the same, there is no phrase added by a human in the translation, only the translation for the original phrases.

The only difference is that Muslims say that it is only the word of Allah if it's read in Arabic. The apocrypha is not part of the original canon. The 'two' Bibles so to speak both have the original canon just one adds extras. The same can be said of Islam, both sects accept the Quran but differ on the authority of the hadith.
