that is a hp dv6000 laptop and im just going to let you know right now to back up all your files on that asap because it will fail pretty soon unless it already has. the dv6000 2 out of 4 computers fail (motherboard total failure) so will your wifi card. dont buy from hp they do not value its customers. dont belive me google hp dv6000 customer support failure......

@Dell0304 a minute is long for startup even with everything :P my vista laptop takes about 30 secs to boot up and when you log in it loads instantly :P get a new laptop bcus inspiron 1501's fall way below todays basic standards :/

@thelaws1123 Mine hasn't fallen behind the times yet......check my channel for the specs. Sure it's not the latest and greatest, but it's pretty fast for me. and I love it.

Anyway, yeah, the reason it takes so long is because the BIOS loads kinda slow. It has to count all 3GB of RAM.

i actually have xp and 7 nowadays... and i think 7 boots up pretty much as fast as yours does in the video and mine isnt really tweaked that much beyond the standard tweaks out there

that's very fast, mine secondary computer which is laptop boots vista home premium about in 1 minute and 30 secs. i know, it sounds slow but vista did slow down after updates.

r u retarted mansarwar1, the index rating does go down every 8 to 9 months, it changes every time microsoft releases a new windows operating system.when they released windows 7 it changed. So it cant just change, and to explain the change from 5.4 to 4.8 is this, when u are running the software to calculate the index rating u may have another software running in the background which prevented ur computer from doing as many calculation per second giving it a lower rating.

Windows from Microsoft is like Wine, it improves with age. Its one of these reasons i am not switching completely to Windows 7.

It was neat when i first started using it, had to remove it after couple of days due to frequent crashing.

Hi, i am using a windows installation called "Tiny Vista" basically its a proper windows installation with other bs removed and it has registry tweak pre applied to it.

I cant give you the link directly, you will have to look up on torrent sites, if you cant find it, then i will email you the link.

this windows has unwanted stuff such as that annoying UAC control, Media Center etc removed. the windows easily fits onto a 700mb cd unlike a dvd and it takes almost 15 mins to install :P

well there are two things, one is the boot time and the second is the start up time.

By turning of those unwanted program, u will decrease the start up time not the boot time though.

to decrease the boot time you will need to apply registry tweaks and patches, like the one that is said in the post above me!

yeah I tried downgrading to XP put couldn't find drivers, then tried linux which worked for a while except the wireless went in and out and there weren't any stable DJ apps or actual professional audio editing/sequencing apps available. Once I went back to Vista though I tweaked, OC'd and couldn't be happier

it takes 10 secs to turn on (as i had to use a remote control to turn it on) and it is loaded on 40 secs.. the extra 7 secs is to show that it is loaded..
