Skiing experience is good, but what you really need is flying time. Picking up the gear and just going for it is a really bad idea. There are a few courses offered in Europe now - try a google search for 'Speedflying AND Beginner Course'.
@AldiLover89 it takes quite a bit of skill ^.- its not like you can just go out and do this right away you still need quite a bit of practice to do it
