@corraspecache026 There is no rule in feng shui that says that all people should align their bed according to certain directions! Search on the Internet for a good web site where you can plug in your birthdates and determine the luckiest positions for your bed placement. Try not to have the head of the bed on a wall that is shared with the toilet in a bathroom. If you have a window that the bed is against, make sure you have a substantial curtain on the window to give you more support. Good luck
I really want to know where could be the right direction among asian people of phils. bed place where is , hope you help me to find it in our home, thanks, God bless
@corraspecache026 God bless to you, and thank you for watching our video! Not certain what your question is, but in general, it's best to place the bed where you can sit up in bed and see the main door to your bedroom without being directly in front of or in line with the door. The ideal is in a corner of the room, diagonally opposite the door. Move your bed around and see how well you sleep in different positions - settle on the position where you have the best night's sleep. Good luck!
@limoeify Sorry you had a difficult time watching! Sometimes vids freeze up if they're being watched by a lot of people at the same time. Do give it another try (I just watched it again and it played just fine). Thanks!
@malmsteen2002 thats a full maybe even a queen.. Generally you can get the job done pretty well on a twin, so unless you are fat or for some reason are spinning in circles on the bed why would you ever be taking up more than a space that fits two people? IE a full size bed
There are some nice detailed elements in the decor. Btw, if it is a tiger (looks like a leopard) pillow may not be the most harmonious animal for anyone who is born in the year of the OX/Goat. Also, "Feng Shui" is pronounced more like "Fung ShOi" rather than "Feng Shway"
@westend104 It's actually more like common sense. Architects and designers naturally have to follow the "flow" of an interior space, so it's actually a pretty old and natural way to observe how things are placed in our everyday world.
@bookskamaki Thank you! The dilemma was putting the bed against a wall and having good mountain energy behind it or putting it against the wall of windows, which is not a great idea. So it was definitely a compromise.
@issaaboo We didn't use precious stones on the altar. We used rocks and pebbles that we have collected in our travels, that have special memories and meanings to us - like a small stone from the desert in Egypt and another small stone from a sunny beach on a lake in Minnesota. Feng shui is all about Good Intent, so you can use most anything on your altar or shrine that draws good energy and focus to your positive thoughts and prayers. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
@florajie Many thanks for the kind words! We've decided to shoot a lot more videos on feng shui hints, tips, do's and don'ts because we've had so many people use the info in their homes. Good luck to you, and thanks for watching.
J'ai l'impression que tous les remèdes pour un bon Feng-Shui sont bien expliqués et indiqués mais c'est en anglais ! Dommage ! Je ne comprends pas ce qui est dit.
Hope the man does not have a sex life, because two basic rules in the bedroom is having a rounded back of the bed, is it is straigh like he has, you will have a straight and boring sexlife. You should never hang an object like that heavy image over the bed, because it creates fear during the night of the object falling in your head. take the frame off or something..
Det edges he has made quick fixes to, is better to just tear down, rebuild and paint.
@klausbha The couple put a different picture over their bed and experienced better sleep and more exciting personal life. They don't report having any trouble in the get-it-on department! But like anything in feng shui, it's always good to experiment and make changes, then observe how life is flowing as a result. More changes may be required (and in New York City, and in a rental apartment, it's not possible to tear down, rebuild, and repaint, so realism and practicality are vital).
there should be a channel on cable for everyone that loves feng shui to view ,and learn from cause some of us dont understand reading books as much as we do do this great videos .thank you for uploading them
hi there, i'm trying to rearrange my bedroom but was curious if the hanging crystal, where beam is, will work? sad to say i have 3 beams in my room. we were planning to rearrange bed in parallel with one of the beam. is that a good idea? what do you suggest? any advice would be appreciated. thanks!
btw, the room looks beautiful. love the colors you used.
@reneheartsee Thanks so much for watching! The crystal isn't the best cure in the world, and the homeowners since this video was shot have moved their bed a bit to the left to avoid the beam being over one of them. It's improved things a lot. So try to stay away from being under a beam if you at all possibly can and definitely not so the beam intersect or runs perpendicular to the bed.
Thanks much for the kind words! The beam is interesting, to say the least. The guy who sleeps under it has had health problems this year (kidney stones; yikes!), so the couple will experiment with putting gliders under the legs of the bed and moving the bed over slightly away from the beam while sleeping, then glide the bed back so the traffic flow is easier during the day.
A beam above a bed will create marital or relationship problems to the couple who sleep beneath it.
The crystal may soothe, but will not adequately address this.
I suggest replacing the mountain painting which implies (and therefore, to the Chinese mind will bring about) a sense of heaviness with perhaps a poetry scroll or character for love, unity, harmony, etc., or one depicting a water scene, to "diffuse" the "weight" of the beam above.
Hello, I am trying to feng shui my home for a happier mood feeling and harmonious relationship with my better half.....are gold curtains in the bedroom good, I sometimes feel like there is a restless energy. can you let me know,
I have been reading up on Feng Shui for a while am yet to practice it fully. This room is very neat, however paying attention to detail there is an aspect which your camera picked up on the windowsill which spoils the effect. The windowsill needs to have the dark areas, which look like ingrained dirt cleaned, filled, painted if wood. The landlord could be contacted to make these areas good but if not do it yourself. Thanks for the video.
Good catch, and thanks for sharing! We'll let the homeowners know. The New York air in this neighborhood is often filled with soot and literally chunks of black from the boilers in the area. The bedroom drapes have already been replaced as they became filled with the black dirt and weren't washed properly (they shrunk beyond belief!).
I guess big cities aren't called the big smoke for nothing! Or is that Chicago. Anyways I found when my landlord replaced my windows with double glazing, though plastic looking sills, they wipe clean like a dream! Saves on painting sills yearly.
Right, there should be no heavy items hanging above your head in Fneg Shui and that includes pictures.
I don't think a tiger is a relaxing image, and the door should ideally NOT open straight onto the bed as someone could open the door and immediately see you.
The door should be hung the other way if possible so that you are protected from energy rushing in as it opens.
Looks very nice, however according to what I have read on Feng Shui in the bedroom, it is preferable to not have anything hanging over your headboard (i.e. print, painting, mirror etc...).
You're technically right, BUT the folks here are professional interior designers, so something had to go there. lol Seriously, try feng shui experimentally. If you'd like a picture above your bed, live with it for a time and make notes. How are you sleeping? Then take the picture down and note the differences? Feng shui is all about making conscious additions and changes and subtractions to your surroundings and observing the changes in your life. Good luck!
you can place pictures above your bed - it should be relaxing (note - dont have pictures of waterfalls cause the vibrations will trouble your sleep) dont place pictures of family or relatives in the room either Mirrors above or facing bring disaster. Note in the video that its mountains above the bed which bring stability. try and make it harmonious and relaxing to feng shui in your own way.. just follow the basic principles of traditional feng shui
'Feng Shui' is a subtle art whereby we can change our luck, health, wealth and love life. This may involve reorganizing your entire house or merely changing where you site your desk or hanging a few mirrors in a window. The sublte change can be the one to make the most impact.
No worries. Feng shui is an ancient Chinese art and science of placing buildings and everything in and around them (trees, furniture, etc.) in good, harmonious or prosperous alignment. Ever walk into a house and feel bad or feel really good? That's the idea behind f-s. There are lots of articles on the web and many books on it and it's used by major companies to build huge office buildings "properly" as well as homeowners to feel better and attract good things like romance and success. Thanks!
lol I do kind of have that Adam West voice working, come to think of it. But I'd rather sound like Brian the Dog; he rocks. Thanks for watching, and glad you liked the bedroom!
Thanks for watching -- and the taffy muching! Thanks for the room comments. The furniture is from a variety of stores actually, from Crate & Barrel to a few New York City furniture stores. The bed was custom made from a paper-like material that resembles woven leather (very cool). The end tables were found at auctions and antique stores. The main thing to remember in the best decorating is that you just don't go to one store or catalog. Mix it up to get a great look. Good luck!
Four is an incredibly unlucky and inauspicious number to the Chinese, who originated feng shui. I'm curious to know why there are four stones like that on a 'shrine' dedicated to feng shui - and why there's eight objects total on the shrine. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use an odd number, which is believed to be more auspicious?
Lovely ideas. Try to do this with very budget that is just enough for food and other neccessities. Also in a room that can hold a single bed and a wardrobe. Ideas??? WOuld love to read. Thanks
Thanks for watching! A single bed and a wardrobe sounds like minimal luxury to me. Much can be done with great simplicity. Place the bed so that it opposes the main door to your bedroom, meeting energy head on. Your bed should have a solid headboard and be placed against a wall, not a window. Much depends on where your windows face, too. Experiment with bed and wardrobe placement for 1 week; make a log and note if you felt good. If not, change it around and try for another week and make notes.
very nice video and room, filled with elegance and energy. i dont know if there is a shoppers drug mart in new york, but if there is, they sell a feng shui fountain that represents earth, fire and water all in one fore only 10 bucks. its very very worth the price, it sells in other stores as well, hope you find interest in this.its very peaceful, well good luck with your feng shui!
The fountain idea is wonderful, particularly for the far left corner of the room (water in the Career corner). Many thanks for watching and your kind comments. Happy holidays!
You're so right! The homeowner is from Cape Town, South Africa and has fond memories of his home at the foot of Table Mountain; this picture allows him to recreate that wonderful relationship that he had to the mountain, and his sleep is very restful.
tiger is a very peaceful animal. and the mountains represent harsh, monst inhospitable environment on the earth.. and please note my soothing black rich night stand table.. ahhhhggg i love my bedroom.. Come On! .. whatever makes you happy, as long as you can sleep well i guess...
lol -- That picture has one of the strongest set of mollies and in-wall hooks I've ever seen. I think it would take an earthquake to shake it loose (the wall would have to crumble first). Thanks for watching!
Hey very nice video regarding feng shui, well designed indeed. I like the idea of putting a picture of mountains behind the bed, but do you have any other suggestions concerning other suitable imagery? Possibly waterfalls or rivers, though I've heard not to put water related imagery in the bedroom.
Also, my bedroom is quite small and my double bed is aligned against the wall. Is there any good cures for this, as I know you should have good access from both sides. Thanks heaps in advance!
Thanks for watching, and your kind words! Where your bed is depends on what imagery you might want up near it. Google-up the feng shui bagua to see how your bedroom is divided up into different themed areas, based on the location of your main entry door. Ideally, put your bed in the relationships area and you can have photos of you and your loved one (but no one else!). Hopefully your bed can be moved a bit away from the wall to allow good people and energy flow.
O cool, yes fortunately my bed is in the relationships area, but there is no room to seperate it from the wall. Well i'm currently single and i have a few photos of my family and friends on my desk. This is bad isn't it? what can i replace them with (as i don't have a partner)?
I have some single friends who put "ideal" partners photos from magazines and newspapers in frames in their relationship area. Art showing a beautiful person can also do the trick. Upright plants with stalks growing straight and tall also add energy to the areas we'd like to boost a bit. Again, good to experiment and "test" the results for a week or two, then shift things around and test again. It's all about carefully observing how your living space impacts your life and taking positive action.
I am trying to paint the interior of my house, and would like to know what colors to paint: the Kitchen, Bedroom, Art Studio, Gym Room, Living Room, Laundry Room, Garage Workshop, and Hallway. I plan on painting one wall a different color in each room as an accent wall, and the ceiling a lighter shade of the main color. Can you make a video about this?
Thanks for watching! We are very comfortable living here. Headboards help to anchor and support you when you rest. It is good to have a strong headboard, but not too hard (like a metal headboard). Also avoid floating the bed in the middle of the room without the support of a wall or placing the bed with the headboard against a window (again, not good grounding and anchoring while you sleep).
Josette, many thanks for watching and your questions! Try to keep the underside of your bed open for air to circulate; but if not possible, then keep the clothing nicely folded and make sure it's not "junk storage." Clean up all clutter! Instead of a mountain, hang nothing up over your bed or a picture that is meaningful to you (anchor it well!). Front door color? It depends on the direction your door faces and where it's situated. Look up a bagua chart online to check proper colors. Good luck!
thanks Westend for answering to my queries. The picture of the mountain I want to put behind my bed is very similar to yours with clouds floating about I took it from my sisters living room and its relaxing to look at
my front door is facing est.
thank you for all your help!!!really appreciated1 greetings
Josette, you're welcome! The mountain picture sounds wonderful. With your front door, if it's facing East, appropriate colors are Green, Yellow, Earth-tones, White, and Metallic. Children and Creativity are big areas for the East, so you might want to hang original artwork and/or photos of children near your front door to maximize the good energy there. (Just a thought....) Good luck! Best, Jay
thanks a lot for your help,I will definitly listen to your recommendations!
I have 3chinese coins joined in a red ribbon I thought the best place to hang them was inside the front door but I heard a lady on one of the vids saying to attach them on your phone/..
The phone is a good idea, but try it out in different spots and see where it feels good to you. I also just heard that pictures of mountains are great to put behind a desk in a home office; it anchors a business or study efforts; so if you have a home office, you might want to consider the mountain picture there, too!
Beautiful room! I read that dragons should never be placed inside the bedroom or any room of relaxation as it symbolizes activity. I have two dragons placed on my window ledge facing outside. Honestly, not sure if this should face inside the living room. Anyway, if anyone knows about how these two dragons should be properly placed, pls let me know. Thanks!!
Dragons are very lucky. I have friends who positioned a bagua mirror and dragons on their windows facing west, for protection. Proper placement of any elements in a room depends on many things, most importantly orientation of the room and main entrances. Best advice: without an expert visiting your space, experiment. Place objects in a way that feels good to you and live with it for a week. Take notes about your experiences. Make new arrangements for another week. Compare and choose the better.
I brought the feng shui encylopedia, its a big red book, i recommend you get 1 if you want to learn about this. Feng shui takes time to work, take gradual steps and try to take in what goes on around you and for you as you make these changes. Good luck
Thanks for watching and commenting! Any feng shui reference materials are great to help make decisions on placing interior design elements in your living space. Your advice is something we recommend all the time, too -- it's easy to move things around in a home (unless it's a bathtub or a toilet!!!); make gradual changes, take careful note of how you feel about your living space when those changes are made, make adjustments accordingly, and keep observing what happens in your life. Good luck!
The homeowners brought in a feng shui practitioner. If you could be more specific about "real feng shui," that would be helpful. There are also, as you know, three schools of feng shui, so perhaps you are referring to the layout not coinciding with the precepts of one school with which you are familiar.
Thanks for watching, Cindy! Feng Shui has three different branches and you can take classes and study in any one of these. There are great teachers all around the U.S. and the world. You might one day become a Feng Shui Master!
Hello, we just got married and moved into our new apt! Trying to position the bed properly and we have a question - which is better/worse, having the headboard against a wall that is shared by the bathroom/toilet or having it against the wall in an inauspicious direction according to our ba gua directions? The third option is to sleep in our best direction but this side of the room has a closet door and a large window (with venetian blinds).
Congratulations, Lynda! What we love about placing a bed is that it's not a toilet -- you don't have to put it in one place and you're stuck having it there forever. You can easily move it around your room. Our advice: try placing your bed first in the spot where you intuitively feel it LOOKS best. Sleep with the bed there for one week. Move the bed to another location for one week, and so on. Compare how you sleep, dream, and wake up (healthy, rested, or tired, sick?) and may the best spot win!
What exactly do you mean by energy? By definition, energy is the capability to do work. What you refer to is a pseudoscience lie that only increases consumption and materialism. Your things own you. If you truly desire relaxation, start with substance, not crystals.
There are many definitions of energy, and if you consult folks in the field of physics, they'll tell you that matter is never at rest; it's in a constant state of motion (i.e., it's in an energetic state). There is no consumption and materialism whatsoever in feng shui as the dweller of a space is made of the same energetic matter as its contents. You can change your surroundings to suit yourself; you own things and not the other way. You can change your space in any way, including minimalism.
I am majoring in physics, I am aware that matter is in constant motion, and may possibly even constantly hop between dimensions (anti-matter). However, the idealist concept of energy is a scam, and promotes consumer materialism of things like feng shui (which is detrimental to true human wellbeing), whereas philosophical materialism simply states that everything is made out of matter, as any physicist will agree with.
Being 30 years beyond my graduate studies, I've tended to find less absolute truths and fewer "scams" in the world. Acknowledging different points of views and perspectives becomes the only truth after awhile. I wish you good luck in your studies and a very happy new year.
I love to agreed with you but I can't totally accept, due to some reason.
First of all, the overhead beam, I know some gurus use to said you could use the crystall to allievate the beam affect but in actual facts it is no. I'm sad to see modern world try to solve the feng shui problem with some "sliver bullet".
I agree with you! The couple wound up moving their bed over to the left and avoiding the beam altogether. Much better sleep results; less oppressiveness for the sleeper under the beam, too. Thank you for watching and commenting! Best regards, Jay
Mike, thanks so much for watching! LOL The blue hand IS like Thing, isn't it? I never thought of that. It's actually a glass sculpture that probably was once a display item -- a glove probably fit onto the hand on a department store counter. But now I'm going to think about a glass hand that comes to life at night and strangles unwitting sleepers!!!
LOL!!! The picture over the bed gets a zillion negative comments, that's for sure. The folks in this apartment say they have a very secure "double molly" anchoring system for their picture. "It won't come down unless there's an earthquake that shatters the wall." The tiger pillow has been moved to another room since this vid was taken, replaced by a soft pillow without any pattern or figures on it. Thanks much for watching! Best, Jay
I enjoyed your video and would like some advice if you have time. My bedroom has windows on the wall opposite the entrance door and on the far right wall there is a second door to a balcony. where should I position my bed? if i put it against the left wall it is in front of the door. should i put it on the same wall as the door ?
Thanks for watching! Fortunately, a bed is more portable than a toilet, so you can experiment a bit! Try the bed on the left wall for a week + keep a sleep diary. Move the bed on the wall with your main door (with space for your bed + 1 or 2 end tables to the side of your door); keep the sleep diary for another week. Which was better? But please try the right wall, too -- my take is that this may be the best spot yet, as you want to focus mostly on the main entry door and your bed. Good luck!
Hi, Nancy! Thanks for your comment. In the post just below, I made the point that intent is oftentimes more powerful than following a metaphysical rule book. In this case, the couple in the apartment like to bring in family and other photos into their bedroom when they want to include loved ones in their dreams; their adult children, especially, are many miles distant, and this helps them "keep in touch." My opinion? Experiment. See what works for you. Thanks again for watching! Best, Jay
The couple in this apartment went to China and purchased the dragon, and the stones were collected during world travels. The crystal is a good ocular crystal, but any crystal will do. The key is intent. Like prayer, one's focus and intention on making a room as beautiful, healthful, and conducive to life as possible is perhaps more important than following some kind of feng shui "rule book." Good luck to you! Best, Jay
You're technically right! A picture could fall on your head while you sleep. Many modern feng shui practitioners are in favor of tailoring solutions to homeowners and their personalities. So this apartment's couple loves Cape Town, South Africa, and wanted a restful picture of Table Mountain above their bed to inspire good dreams. It was affixed with extra-strong mollies in the wall to prevent falling. The couple report peaceful nights of slumber. Thanks for watching!
A good overhead light without sharp points or anything spikey (rounder shapes are best), pair of bedside lights on end tables or night stands on either side of the bed for reading, lights should be on a dimmer for mood, paint walls relaxing/calming colors, artwork and posters should add to harmony, a mirror well placed (NOT opposite your bed), bed facing bedroom door for best energy (avoid a window behind the headboard), plants to soften sharp corners/edges as you see fit. Good luck, CSP!
You're most welcome -- and good luck! Make changes and additions, live with them, then adjust them until they feel "just right." Feng shui is all about experimenting and observing the results of your experiments.

What types of precious stones did you use on the alter? Does it matter which ones?
issaaboo 1 year ago
@issaaboo We didn't use precious stones on the altar. We used rocks and pebbles that we have collected in our travels, that have special memories and meanings to us - like a small stone from the desert in Egypt and another small stone from a sunny beach on a lake in Minnesota. Feng shui is all about Good Intent, so you can use most anything on your altar or shrine that draws good energy and focus to your positive thoughts and prayers. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

Det edges he has made quick fixes to, is better to just tear down, rebuild and paint.
klausbha 2 years ago 2
@klausbha The couple put a different picture over their bed and experienced better sleep and more exciting personal life. They don't report having any trouble in the get-it-on department! But like anything in feng shui, it's always good to experiment and make changes, then observe how life is flowing as a result. More changes may be required (and in New York City, and in a rental apartment, it's not possible to tear down, rebuild, and repaint, so realism and practicality are vital).

hi there, i'm trying to rearrange my bedroom but was curious if the hanging crystal, where beam is, will work? sad to say i have 3 beams in my room. we were planning to rearrange bed in parallel with one of the beam. is that a good idea? what do you suggest? any advice would be appreciated. thanks!
btw, the room looks beautiful. love the colors you used.
reneheartsee 2 years ago
@reneheartsee Thanks so much for watching! The crystal isn't the best cure in the world, and the homeowners since this video was shot have moved their bed a bit to the left to avoid the beam being over one of them. It's improved things a lot. So try to stay away from being under a beam if you at all possibly can and definitely not so the beam intersect or runs perpendicular to the bed.

I like the room even if there are beam
MonyMG1959 2 years ago
Thanks much for the kind words! The beam is interesting, to say the least. The guy who sleeps under it has had health problems this year (kidney stones; yikes!), so the couple will experiment with putting gliders under the legs of the bed and moving the bed over slightly away from the beam while sleeping, then glide the bed back so the traffic flow is easier during the day.
westend104 2 years ago
A beam above a bed will create marital or relationship problems to the couple who sleep beneath it.
The crystal may soothe, but will not adequately address this.
I suggest replacing the mountain painting which implies (and therefore, to the Chinese mind will bring about) a sense of heaviness with perhaps a poetry scroll or character for love, unity, harmony, etc., or one depicting a water scene, to "diffuse" the "weight" of the beam above.
Beautiful bedroom, by the way.

GhizlaneMuslimah 2 years ago
I have been reading up on Feng Shui for a while am yet to practice it fully. This room is very neat, however paying attention to detail there is an aspect which your camera picked up on the windowsill which spoils the effect. The windowsill needs to have the dark areas, which look like ingrained dirt cleaned, filled, painted if wood. The landlord could be contacted to make these areas good but if not do it yourself. Thanks for the video.
andicatz 2 years ago
Good catch, and thanks for sharing! We'll let the homeowners know. The New York air in this neighborhood is often filled with soot and literally chunks of black from the boilers in the area. The bedroom drapes have already been replaced as they became filled with the black dirt and weren't washed properly (they shrunk beyond belief!).
westend104 2 years ago
I guess big cities aren't called the big smoke for nothing! Or is that Chicago. Anyways I found when my landlord replaced my windows with double glazing, though plastic looking sills, they wipe clean like a dream! Saves on painting sills yearly.

sambadako 2 years ago
Right, there should be no heavy items hanging above your head in Fneg Shui and that includes pictures.
I don't think a tiger is a relaxing image, and the door should ideally NOT open straight onto the bed as someone could open the door and immediately see you.
The door should be hung the other way if possible so that you are protected from energy rushing in as it opens.
aaronfromhastings 2 years ago 13

You're technically right, BUT the folks here are professional interior designers, so something had to go there. lol Seriously, try feng shui experimentally. If you'd like a picture above your bed, live with it for a time and make notes. How are you sleeping? Then take the picture down and note the differences? Feng shui is all about making conscious additions and changes and subtractions to your surroundings and observing the changes in your life. Good luck!
westend104 2 years ago
you can place pictures above your bed - it should be relaxing (note - dont have pictures of waterfalls cause the vibrations will trouble your sleep) dont place pictures of family or relatives in the room either Mirrors above or facing bring disaster.

The sublte change can be the one to make the most impact.
desirewithinus 2 years ago
Thanks!

Me and my girlfriend love the room, she's Chinese. Can you recommend a store in which to purchase this furniture?
JDMAero 2 years ago

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use an odd number, which is believed to be more auspicious?
joshryker 2 years ago
Good spot. Two weeks ago, the couple in this apartment added an additional stone to make the number odd.
westend104 2 years ago
Great, except for a relationship they may want to add another lamp to the nightstand, to represent two, if that is desired.

Lovely ideas. Try to do this with very budget that is just enough for food and other neccessities. Also in a room that can hold a single bed and a wardrobe. Ideas??? WOuld love to read. Thanks
huninusa 3 years ago
Thanks for watching! A single bed and a wardrobe sounds like minimal luxury to me. Much can be done with great simplicity. Place the bed so that it opposes the main door to your bedroom, meeting energy head on. Your bed should have a solid headboard and be placed against a wall, not a window. Much depends on where your windows face, too. Experiment with bed and wardrobe placement for 1 week; make a log and note if you felt good. If not, change it around and try for another week and make notes.

westend104 3 years ago
Hey very nice video regarding feng shui, well designed indeed. I like the idea of putting a picture of mountains behind the bed, but do you have any other suggestions concerning other suitable imagery? Possibly waterfalls or rivers, though I've heard not to put water related imagery in the bedroom.
Also, my bedroom is quite small and my double bed is aligned against the wall. Is there any good cures for this, as I know you should have good access from both sides. Thanks heaps in advance!
christianng28 3 years ago
Thanks for watching, and your kind words! Where your bed is depends on what imagery you might want up near it. Google-up the feng shui bagua to see how your bedroom is divided up into different themed areas, based on the location of your main entry door. Ideally, put your bed in the relationships area and you can have photos of you and your loved one (but no one else!). Hopefully your bed can be moved a bit away from the wall to allow good people and energy flow.
westend104 3 years ago
O cool, yes fortunately my bed is in the relationships area, but there is no room to seperate it from the wall. Well i'm currently single and i have a few photos of my family and friends on my desk. This is bad isn't it? what can i replace them with (as i don't have a partner)?
Thanks again, and keep up the good work ;)
christianng28 3 years ago

Orkomagic 3 years ago
Your bedroom is beautiful and very cozy...=0) Is a headboard really necessary regarding feng shui?
edwrd 3 years ago
Thanks for watching! We are very comfortable living here. Headboards help to anchor and support you when you rest. It is good to have a strong headboard, but not too hard (like a metal headboard). Also avoid floating the bed in the middle of the room without the support of a wall or placing the bed with the headboard against a window (again, not good grounding and anchoring while you sleep).

thank you Westend!I have drawers under my bed full of clothes is it ok?
can I put a crystal quartz on my ceiling instead of the one on the vid?
I m going to put a big picture of mountain behind my bed1
also is green a good colour For my front door/
sorry to bombard you with lots of questions1
thank you again!
josepolo950 3 years ago
Josette, many thanks for watching and your questions! Try to keep the underside of your bed open for air to circulate; but if not possible, then keep the clothing nicely folded and make sure it's not "junk storage." Clean up all clutter! Instead of a mountain, hang nothing up over your bed or a picture that is meaningful to you (anchor it well!). Front door color? It depends on the direction your door faces and where it's situated. Look up a bagua chart online to check proper colors. Good luck!
westend104 3 years ago
thanks Westend for answering to my queries. The picture of the mountain I want to put behind my bed is very similar to yours with clouds floating about I took it from my sisters living room and its relaxing to look at
my front door is facing est.
thank you for all your help!!!really appreciated1 greetings
josepolo950 3 years ago
Josette, you're welcome! The mountain picture sounds wonderful. With your front door, if it's facing East, appropriate colors are Green, Yellow, Earth-tones, White, and Metallic. Children and Creativity are big areas for the East, so you might want to hang original artwork and/or photos of children near your front door to maximize the good energy there. (Just a thought....) Good luck! Best, Jay

thanks a lot for your help,I will definitly listen to your recommendations!
I have 3chinese coins joined in a red ribbon I thought the best place to hang them was inside the front door but I heard a lady on one of the vids saying to attach them on your phone/..
josepolo950 3 years ago

Thanks!!
ont123lady 3 years ago
Dragons are very lucky. I have friends who positioned a bagua mirror and dragons on their windows facing west, for protection. Proper placement of any elements in a room depends on many things, most importantly orientation of the room and main entrances. Best advice: without an expert visiting your space, experiment. Place objects in a way that feels good to you and live with it for a week. Take notes about your experiences. Make new arrangements for another week. Compare and choose the better.
westend104 3 years ago
I brought the feng shui encylopedia, its a big red book, i recommend you get 1 if you want to learn about this. Feng shui takes time to work, take gradual steps and try to take in what goes on around you and for you as you make these changes. Good luck
robroy131 3 years ago

LyndaTang 3 years ago
Congratulations, Lynda! What we love about placing a bed is that it's not a toilet -- you don't have to put it in one place and you're stuck having it there forever. You can easily move it around your room. Our advice: try placing your bed first in the spot where you intuitively feel it LOOKS best. Sleep with the bed there for one week. Move the bed to another location for one week, and so on. Compare how you sleep, dream, and wake up (healthy, rested, or tired, sick?) and may the best spot win!
westend104 3 years ago
What exactly do you mean by energy? By definition, energy is the capability to do work. What you refer to is a pseudoscience lie that only increases consumption and materialism. Your things own you. If you truly desire relaxation, start with substance, not crystals.
iceagecominmoney 3 years ago
There are many definitions of energy, and if you consult folks in the field of physics, they'll tell you that matter is never at rest; it's in a constant state of motion (i.e., it's in an energetic state). There is no consumption and materialism whatsoever in feng shui as the dweller of a space is made of the same energetic matter as its contents. You can change your surroundings to suit yourself; you own things and not the other way. You can change your space in any way, including minimalism.
westend104 3 years ago
I am majoring in physics, I am aware that matter is in constant motion, and may possibly even constantly hop between dimensions (anti-matter). However, the idealist concept of energy is a scam, and promotes consumer materialism of things like feng shui (which is detrimental to true human wellbeing), whereas philosophical materialism simply states that everything is made out of matter, as any physicist will agree with.
iceagecominmoney 3 years ago
Being 30 years beyond my graduate studies, I've tended to find less absolute truths and fewer "scams" in the world. Acknowledging different points of views and perspectives becomes the only truth after awhile. I wish you good luck in your studies and a very happy new year.
westend104 3 years ago
I love to agreed with you but I can't totally accept, due to some reason.
First of all, the overhead beam, I know some gurus use to said you could use the crystall to allievate the beam affect but in actual facts it is no. I'm sad to see modern world try to solve the feng shui problem with some "sliver bullet".
But it is nothing wrong with the "student",
because these where they been taught.

linuxfanz 3 years ago

My bedroom has windows on the wall opposite the entrance door and on the far right wall there is a second door to a balcony. where should I position my bed? if i put it against the left wall it is in front of the door. should i put it on the same wall as the door ?
wonderchick100 4 years ago
Thanks for watching! Fortunately, a bed is more portable than a toilet, so you can experiment a bit! Try the bed on the left wall for a week + keep a sleep diary. Move the bed on the wall with your main door (with space for your bed + 1 or 2 end tables to the side of your door); keep the sleep diary for another week. Which was better? But please try the right wall, too -- my take is that this may be the best spot yet, as you want to focus mostly on the main entry door and your bed. Good luck!

No family photos in the bedroom!!
DreamingOfBaba 4 years ago
Best, Jay
westend104 4 years ago
hii from where did u get those stones and dragon , what kind of stones are they ?, and the crystal is it of a certain kind ?
hebakamel 4 years ago
The couple in this apartment went to China and purchased the dragon, and the stones were collected during world travels. The crystal is a good ocular crystal, but any crystal will do. The key is intent. Like prayer, one's focus and intention on making a room as beautiful, healthful, and conducive to life as possible is perhaps more important than following some kind of feng shui "rule book." Good luck to you! Best, Jay
westend104 4 years ago
correct me if im wrong but according to feng shui you arent supposed to have pictures above your bed are you?
jeweladdict1972 4 years ago
You're technically right! A picture could fall on your head while you sleep. Many modern feng shui practitioners are in favor of tailoring solutions to homeowners and their personalities. So this apartment's couple loves Cape Town, South Africa, and wanted a restful picture of Table Mountain above their bed to inspire good dreams. It was affixed with extra-strong mollies in the wall to prevent falling. The couple report peaceful nights of slumber. Thanks for watching!

My bedroom faces a fence, so I get very little sunlight.
Do you have any suggestions on what sort of lighting, plants, accessories etc. I could use to help brighten my room?
cheesesteakphilly 4 years ago
A good overhead light without sharp points or anything spikey (rounder shapes are best), pair of bedside lights on end tables or night stands on either side of the bed for reading, lights should be on a dimmer for mood, paint walls relaxing/calming colors, artwork and posters should add to harmony, a mirror well placed (NOT opposite your bed), bed facing bedroom door for best energy (avoid a window behind the headboard), plants to soften sharp corners/edges as you see fit. Good luck, CSP!
