Great Video @pianomanofvienna. Do you happen to also have Hana Maskova free skating performance from the 1968 Olympics as well? If so, would you be able to upload it?
Sadly, Hana Maskova passed away as a result of a car crash in 1972 in France. Such a shame.
I met Gabriele in Italy on Lignano beach in 1967 I believe. I had her all to myself for about an hour or so. Then I asked her to go to dinner with me that evening and she agreed. She was really a sweet wonderful young donna back then.
@bardtoob I beg your pardon, dear Bardtoob, at 1:50 Gaby did not show a double "Colledge", but a double axel. A "colledge" is a one foot axel with a regular Axel take-off that lands on the back inside edge of the takeoff foot. Gaby, however, lands on the back outside edge of the other foot. The double axel at 1:00, however, is by far cleaner, of course. Greetings from Vienna, Austria.
@pianomanofvienna You are right!!! I guess my eyes deceived me because I gave Gaby the benefit of the doubt because she is such a wonderful jumper. I could have sworn she took off and landed on the left foot, although it appears to just be a long LFO entrance and struggle on the landing.
Her double axel is absolutely beautiful - It's my favorite jump of all - more than any triple - and she has such great spring - it's like she's leaping off a spring board.
she is 61 now. There is a autobiography: Da muß noch was sein. A very interesting book. But in English?I don't no. Her mother is the famous couch Jutta Müller.
She was the first woman who landed a triple loop, may be the first woman ever who successfully did a triple jump in competition? Guess it was at the 1968 Europeans. I never saw it, would be great if somebody could post it here... Fantastic, powerful skater and the beginning of the story of success for Jutta Mueller. Such a pity Gaby did not go on until the 1972 Olympics. I'm sure she would have won!
@andrebln1 You are absolutely right Gaby Seyfert did a triple jump (it was a triple loop) at the 1968 Europeans as said by the commentator Eva Pawlik (I have translated her commentary, so you can read it). I have the film - perhaps I will post it for you. Greetings from Vienna, Austria.

Who was Kat Witt's coach.

Kat Witt's coach was the same woman, Jutta Müller. She is the most successful coach in figure skating.

i know the history of this lady but never saw a routine, Witt is a very similar skater, the germanic style survived over twenty years

This video is a remarkable and very rare footage of Gabrielle Seyfert. Her mother certainly trained her well. Take a bow, Frau Ute Muller.

Thank you for sharing. I've waited so long to see this.
Now I really know what a special skater and daughter Jutta Muller had in Gaby.
What an amazing rivalry was started between Carlo Fassi and Jutta Muller when Peggy and Gaby began competing against each other.

wow , she had incredible height and power on her axels, and her spins were quite fast and well centered for 1968. Thank you so much for sharing.

Once again, thank you so much for sharing this; another treasure that I believed that I would never see.
I love the commentary also. Your mother brought the performances, and those who did them, "alive" for the viewer.
