@BlitzoftheReich yes, just because Ian Curtis sings in such a deep voice doesn't mean everyone who covers Joy Division songs must attempt to sing it really low, people sing in there own voices.
I kinda missed something in this. Sure I do respect Sumner for his work with JD and NO, but did he actually "feel" that song here? Anyway, nothing beats the original, but it's a song that needs to be played and I'm glad there are so many quality cover versions ;-)
Ian, I can still hear your plaintive vocal no matter who sings your words or in what musical context they are sung. They always make me emotional. RIP Ian Curtis. I pray you are at peace.

@RcEdits I'm not talking about the registry I'm talking about the tone.
BlitzoftheReich 8 months ago
@BlitzoftheReich not all people can sing in a lower octave, when i sing and play this song i sing it in the higher octave aswell. still sounds good!
RcEdits 8 months ago
@RcEdits Still not what I mean. You can still sing high and on the original key. ;s
BlitzoftheReich 8 months ago
@BlitzoftheReich could you not have just used your head and realised he has a capo on the 2nd fret then?
RcEdits 8 months ago
@RcEdits Yes but thats not my point. It's just why?

It may not be the same as the original, but at least he's doing it justice. After all, it was him doing the trademark synth riff in the original...
