hmmm maybe its because the music coporations pretty much feed off of whatever is popular at the time. and simple plan started in the late 90s or early 2000s(i dont remember when i first heard them) and pop punk was EXTREMELY popular because of blink 182 and sum 41. Nirvana's lyrics were quite good, their most popular song Smells Like Teen Spirit is nonsensical, but all of their other songs except a few on Bleach have lyrics that are about his life or how he feels, etc. He just used a lot symbolism and vague lyrics, like MOST grunge bands do. This band sucks. But having said that I think it's pretty cool how they are throwing a cancer benefit concert. I gotta give them that.
