  • with those grey streets anyone could get depressed there

  • 4538 8th Avenue NE. Can't wait to visit.

  • im sure he wasnt walking around their too much

  • I live in Sicily (Italy), Seattle is the opposite part of the world to me...how far is his condo from the centre of the city?

  • OK around 5:30 where you see a green and white condo building, that was his building, he lived on the top floor. His place had huge windows, a loft, and even a really nice balcony. Do not ask how I know. The neighborhood is U-District in Seattle, I used to drive past his place every day on my way to work, I'd roll down the window and hold up a peace sign as I drive by, more times than not I already had AIC on the radio. Every now and then you'll see some rockers outside his place, praying.

  • Rest in peace Layne

  • you went down the wrong way of the one way street

  • 18706 62nd Pl W

    Lynnwood, WA 98037

House across the street from where I lived that he lived in during high school.

  • I live in Seatac,Washington so I can go to capital hill to see Layne Staley Neighbor hood on every April,5 of every year

RIP Layne Thomas Staley 1967-2002 u will always be the one of the best Seattle vocals of all time

  • i wonder who lives in his exact apt now, they should of closed it off

  • You get the first glimpse of his condo on the far end of the parking lot at 03:19

  • thanks man

  • ok so you basically walked down roosevelt and then turned at 8th ave ne and the green and white building was where his condo was... sweet! ty

  • HI great video, what street is it exactly? thanks a mill :)

  • @mirgarplaylist83 The address of Layne Staley's Condo is 4528 8th Ave. NE Apt 5C

  • @MikeBenedict1986 Would you happen to know which one is 5C when looking at lets say a photo facing the front of the building?

  • @00SIvlE00 It's the top floor of either the green or white building, but i'm not sure which one. does anyone know?

  • @MikeBenedict1986 Since I asked you I came across a video of Matt Pinfield announcing Layne's death on MTV news and there's a shot of the condo with the camera panning up to the top of white ones so I'm guessing that's it

  • @00SIvlE00 OH OK

  • @MikeBenedict1986 It's a green AND white building. One building.

  • @Nitrousoxide2k i got ya thanks

  • @mirgarplaylist83 4538 8th Avenue NE. Apt 5C

  • i live about an hour from seattle..i will see his apartment and those streets before i die...

  • Dam i couldn't think of a better video to put with such a great song, nice work

  • @twelthfadora17 yea it gave me chills too. I get that same vibe of depression where i live, and me being a teenage future grunger, I could see where his mind and music came from. Just life around him.

I understand how Layne was one of the best singers and stuff of all time man, but don't wish you were him. You don't want to fall in the footsteps of a drugy

  • Miss you too

  • This was a pretty interesting video. It gave me chills thinking of Layne walking the streets like this singing this song to himself almost twenty years ago. Thank you for this. I have a love/hate with this area. It's a very VERY emotional place. I wish I was Layne.

  • Was he broke?

  • @FiveLiveKru he bought that condo straight out. After he died it was sold for $350k. He withdrew $5,000 a week for his heroin and food expenses, per his accountant. I don't think that's broke. 52 weeks a year x $5,000 per week.....you do the math. Def not broke.

  • Everybody gotta go in the grave. We're next...

  • hm. I had no idea! I go to the Half Price Books (1:24) in the U-district all the time!

  • i miss u layne :( and im only 11 years old

  • Thank you for posting this. I haven't been to Seattle since 2002...........now I know where to walk when I go back.

  • I haven't gotten a chance to go by there so thanks for posting this. He is still loved by so many... :-)

  • thats it..was just there a few days ago..took tons of pics:)

  • So cool and thanks for sharing.

  • I have been there. Its wierd to know that Layne once stood in the same place you are. I met his cousin once, guy came into my work and had the last same staley that looked and sounded like him. i asked if he was related and said yeah, he lives right down the street from me. I said he was an awesome musician and wished he was still around.

  • thank you again!!!!

  • cool to see were he spent his last days

  • this is really nice. i lived in seattle for 6 years & used to walk around where he lived while he was still alive. i never spotted him but my ex saw him downtown walking down the alley between 5th & 6th. he was so in awe & shock that he just watched him walk by & couldn't speak!

  • oh dude!!! did your girlfriend say what he looked like when she saw him? and what year was it?

  • @ETMadScientist hey! yea, it was my ex-husband & it was 1997. layne was wearing a black trenchcoat & was hunched over & looking down, with his hands in his pockets. My ex said he looked worse than ever, just so thin even with all the clothes but mostly he said that his face was really sunken in. My ex took the Mad Season cd to work everyday after that hoping to see layne again & get the nerve to talk to him & see if he'd sign the cd. but he only saw him that one time.

  • @divinereference soooo awesome would have given anything to see him on time not in concert just on the street just like a normal person soo lucky sweet memory

  • @divinereference wow. I don't even know what I'd have done. Run him down and hug him? He'd have hated that I think. Your ex is so lucky!

  • It's sorta a pilgrimage I guess. Layne was special. I can't blame you for making the journey. It would be nice to lay a rose at his former residence since I don't think he has a grave (as he was cremated).

  • Thanks for this when im older im going to travel to seattle RIP Layne!

  • if i lived there id probebly make a point to drive by the place he lived everyday in memory of him... i just love him so much. RIP Layne. thanks 4 posting.

  • good job! thanks

  • Nice to know I was not the only one who thinking of going around in his neighborhood ;) Thanks for the poste

  • Absolutely beautiful! Really appreciate what you're doing.
