  • Is he alive ._.

  • this is how jesus died

  • dude was out from the first elbow, bet he never fought agian

  • is that move still allowed in the UFC?

  • @Dragonball239 I think so.

The UFC bans elbow strikes that use the tip, but only when the elbows come from a straight downwards angle. The elbows Goodridge was throwing were coming from sort of a sideways angle, so they MIGHT be all right.

  • @ThePinkMan This fight (if you want to call it that) occurred in UFC 8, which was before the formation and affirmation of the unified MMA rules that the UFC and many other organizations adhere to today. The first few UFCs had only the following rules: No Biting, No Eye Gouging. KOs like this one, as well as other unsavory techniques used by a number of fighters, helped move the sport towards adopting more rules and gaining more legitimacy going forward.

  • @DaveFrange Dude, read the comment I was responding to. The guy below me asked if this was STILL allowed in MMA.

  • @Dragonball239 No. It's a retarded rule that needs to be amended but the "twelve to six" elbow strikes are not allowed to the head of a grounded opponent. The geniuses that made the rules were led to believe these are more dangerous than other elbow strikes, so while one can swipe the elbow across or drop an elbow straight down, you can not bring the elbow in an upward direction and downward onto an opponent. It is how Jon Bones Jones received his only loss, by disqualification to Matt Hamill.

  • @Urdarbrunn of course. and dont be mad cuz ur step daddys black.

  • Of course the dumb canadian nigger will beat the shit out of the little white man when he fucking 70 pounds heavier and about 5 inches taller

  • @KrAzYcHoLoBoY Your sister fuck a black guy or something? Chill, homie.

  • did you guys see when he beat the shit out of that short guido john campatella

  • He's taller though sure he'll smash him ._.

  • ufc seemed lame....yet hilariously awesome back in the days...

  • Why is he wearing a GI ? didnt know Gary was into whatever that gi represents.

  • @TheBestBoxingGame He's not. Google Gary Goodridge Kuk Sool Won, the story is very well publicised.

  • I saw an interview where Gary said this was his first fight he EVER had in his life. When he was being trained for this, the trainers were telling him that Herera was a KKK guy, lol.

  • @yardape99 hahahah thats why he did so much damage xD

  • damn that dude is almost 80 pounds heavier!

  • The winner of a hard fought match up...

  • If gary were a real top Martial Artist would CONTORL HIMSELF and know when stop beating, he did not realized that with the first hit with his elbow his oponnet was knock out. He attacked without control. A real top Martial Artist can beat Gary

  • @luismartin45 Just because he wanted to pound the fuck outta someone, doesn't mean he can't control himself. He just wanted to make sure he finished the job.

  • WOOO

  • 1 month from my b day

  • EPIC KO!!

  • Flacid after elbow number 2.

  • that black guy cheated!!!!

  • @SAMFlSHER40l7 how?

  • That is what I'd do to assemblyman Bob Riley if I saw him in New York.

  • why does he start tapping his chest at 1:00 before destroying him >?

  • @vECIHOHQ

he was trying to make sure he could get the arm locked in. Herrera could have got out if Goodridge didn't get that arm locked like that. but once he did, there was no getting out. people don't realize how much strength you have pulling like that. so it was just a matter of pulling that one arm towards his chest and locking the other two with his legs. from there, Paul was pretty much screwed.

  • @JSwanKilowJ <3

  • @vECIHOHQ

    what does that mean?

  • @JSwanKilowJ

    love heart hahaa

  • that black guy cheated!

  • @SAMFlSHER40l7 There was no cheating back than. Everything was legal. Except for eye gouges and biting. Some still did it anyways.

  • I got my black belt in kuk sool won. Then quit...

  • holy shit

  • "Herrars is a really good grappler here"

    Yep, totally.

  • Lol kuk is a Word for dick in norwegian

  • "And Herrera's a very good grappler here" just as he's becoming the 1st to ever get caught in this ....

the worst announcing in the history of sports, LMAO

  • @TomSpartan218 correct.

  • Goodridge wasnt actually a 4 degree black belt in Kuk Sool, he admitted to that on many occasiosn in interviews

  • @Togosu888 That is why Kuk Sool Won is inverted commas. This topic has been done to death on this video since it was uploaded.

  • @Togosu888 he also was a failed fighter who never adapted because he was a fool in the fact he stuck to one style if you cant adapt you cant evolve and there for are obsolete

  • @Togosu888

yeah, apparently he was granted 4th Dan status for representing Kuk Sool Won in UFC. it was deserved, as he made it to the finals

  • Goodridge wasnt actually a 4 degree black belt in Kuk Sool, he admitted to that on many occasiosn in interviews

  • Fucking stupid! why would you fight someone so much bigger and just as skilled in grappling as you. They're are weight classes in combat sports for a reason as everyone watching this can see.

  • @chicolatino13 You have to acknowledge this was in 1996 when UFC was not the sport it is today. Correct weight classes were not always adhered to because guys wanted to fight to get a record and there wasn't always professional guys in their weight readily available. Now everyone wants to be an MMA fighter ;-)

  • @blondeblackbelt in addition, to become an "ultimate fighter" the fighter would have to fight multiple times in one night from all weight classes. these were the glory days of the ufc

  • @chicolatino13 To add to blondeblackbelt's comment, this was also the "David vs Goliath" tournament (back when they were still doing the tournament format). Each first round fight was a heavyweight paired with someone under 200lbs. Jerry Bohlander faced a man over 300lbs (and won), Don Frye would face Goodridge in the finals and finish him with a submission. In fact, the very first UFC fight ever was 200lbs Gerard Gordeau vs 400+lbs Teila Tuli (Gordeau won in 26 seconds)

  • best ufc knockout of all time

  • this is so dumb. the dude had 70 pounds on him... these fights would never happen today. imagine this guy going against lesnar. he'd get his ass kicked!

  • yes gary have huge power but he have huge losses i don't know why ?

  • You ever notice that he almost KO's himself at the end?

  • G-Man Goins!

    "Goodridge!

    ...

    Goodridge!"

  • @maxpower789z That made me laugh so much! me and my brother always crack up when G-man repeats the last name. always does it in a hushed tone as well lol

  • The irony is that Gary has taken too many shots to the head. At that exact instant Herrera blacked out, two things happened:

    1: He lost the match

2: Any chance of having a career in MMA disappeared

  • 15 sec? NICE!

  • KOREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sorry I think I have done too many eminem - purple hills. I love my peeps. Im guilty of only that.

  • The truth of 50 cent poppin them thangs is true. In our contests we have our fingers on our safety button. We rule world wide.

  • Just know this. All your governments are watching me. They never leave me alone, diablo 2 intro style. All I have to say is, I bet all my money on Kuk Sool Won. Doubt me insanely if you must. But Kuk Sool Won shall reign all over your neighborhood.

  • KOREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FOR THOSE OF KOREA I SAY. YES TO KATANA. But I say to all others. The slaughter is in kuk sool won. Challenge my brother of short term acceptance. With their history divided in royal hidance.

  • Ive threatened the world with more threats than you can count for. Count your bets on the money of kuk sool won. If you doubt it, the doubt it like this. THE ***KING JAPANESSE TOOK AWAY OUR ROYAL ART. Its been under ground for so long we havent had a super martial artists to rule your ufc. But it smart to train in it. Just like it isent smart to train against my gun fire. Kuk sool won for life. Kuk sool won shall rule your world. And learn that from kingwood martial arts texas.

  • gary was my neighbour a few years back ahaha, i ripped the bark off the tree in his front lawn ^.^

  • still in awe 10 seconds after the video

  • beast

  • haha lol, in swedish kuk sool won means=dick(kuk) sun(sool) won :P the dick sun won everybody!

  • @iwaver44 in swedish everything sounds like ygom thafel baaam berotten or something like this...

  • Finish him!

  • This is like two guys holding you down, one on each arm. And then a third guy shows up and starts wailing away at your head like you did something bad to his mother.

  • That guy took 8 brutal shots to the head! OUCH!

  • elbows....in number!

  • this is one of the best kos ever

  • My sister and I know gary. he worked at the honda plant in alliston ont. However he thinks he is gods gift to all. nice guy but he has a swelled noggin.

  • R.I.P Kuk Sa Nim

  • flawless victory!!!

  • That was truly fucked up what in the hell was that little fool thinking. Just Sad=[

  • Big Daddy is bringin' home the bacon!

  • Owned like bitch , such an embarrassing loss

  • That's why you train Kuk Sool :)

  • He tore him up! But this was a unfare fight because goodridge is was fuckin 258 and Paul Herrera was only 158. Totally unfair! UFC was fucked up back in the day but was straight raw!

  • @howellrod21

rlly doesnt make a difference if he wanted to take him down first lol..

  • @xxxxxJAYMILLZxxxxxxx Why in the hell did he try to take him down? Geesh! I think He shouldve kept it standing and he wouldve got his ass kicked even worst then he did! lol

  • @howellrod21 cause people were very one dimensional back then. as you can see in the start, the opponent was a wrestler, so he probably wasn't very good with his stand up :)

  • @GSGDarkSide I agree! He got demolished! I am glad the sport has evolved.

  • imma try dat one day

  • I dont care what anybody says. This is the best KO in UFC history. I remember watching this will my dad when i was a kid and my mom was telling him to turn off the tv. Thank god he didn't because how im addicted to mma like someone who is addicted to PCP. This was so brutal in surprised they didn't put this in a mortal kombat game.

  • kuk sa nim is probly very embarrased right now

  • @behrgr661 Kuk Sa Nim doesnt get embarrased

  • Thank god they have weight classes now

  • i remember watching this when it came out

  • He knocked him the fuck out!

  • someone show this to lil nog.

  • @dudeLaurence i wanted him to do it sooo bad when he get it the other day lol

  • @nerstow shut the fuck up... Did you used to date him or something? Or did you look that up on the wikipedia page you just made for him?

  • omfg god thanks weightclass now exist

    this guy got destroyed

  • lol at 1:11 headbutted cage

  • 185 vs 258

    ROFL

I guess they just threw weight-classes out the window

    XD

  • yeah, its better with weight classes.

  • DOWNWARD ELBOWS ARE ILLEGAL in the UFC of today for u noobs who didnt know

  • @verbalpenpen Bullshit.

  • @verbalpenpen it would be a grey area if this would be classed as a downward elbow given the position theyre in.Its a ridiculous rule anyway, its no more dangerous than any elbow.

  • wooow attack niggar!!!

  • 1:10 FAIL!

  • I think we can safely say this dude ate nothing but soup for a few months after that face caving exercise, probably through a straw!

  • I would not want to confront Gary Goodridge alone in a street corner; he'd kill me with those elbows.

  • oh wow kook sool won........i thought i was the only one to practice that.

  • I wonder what happened to him, brain damage? Id imagine he never fought again.

  • that shit is fucking nuts

  • This was real fighting! Anyone knows, if this action is banned today?

    Everything exiting is banned today.

I wish, Fedor and Lesnar would fight under the old rules, 1 Round until knockout - this could be a hell of a fight!

  • @boxxymaus

    Its called a Crucifix hold.

And there are a couple variations of it.

This variation however i believe is banned. If one of those elbows hit his temple, the next time we'd see him would be in a casket.

  • @blakguitar this technique isn't banned and elbowing someone in the temple isn't going to kill them.

  • @blakguitar no variation is banned and this was only used as a retraint ,not a sub.People get hit in the temple all the time and dont die.

  • @boxxymaus nothing in that fight is banned today in the UFC.

  • @Nerstow actually the downward elbows are

  • @verbalpenpen Gary didn't throw downward elbows, they were sideways. Like I said, nothing he did is illegal now...

  • @verbalpenpen he never threw "12 to 6" downward elbows though. he only through sideways elbows. are you blind/retarded? dont know how to make this more clear...

  • You dont understand what a downward/12 to 6 elbow is because those are all obviously 12 to 6( not that it mattered back then). If your elbow swings in a straight line down from your forehead to your opponent its a downward elbow. Its doesnt matter that Gary was on his side, that elbows were coming from the side, or that he hit the side of the head, he could of been up side down and those would still be called downward elbows. Form is what dictates a downward elbow not direction they come from

  • @MrLucidVoice Wrong

    Watch Florian vs Guida,

    Those elbows were legal,

Direction is what dictates where the elbow comes from.

    Noob

  • Lol KSW ftw. Too bad Kuk sa nim confiscated his belt... I wish i knew the whole story...

  • Gary said in an interview that he had never been in a fight in his life before this one with Paul Herrara, lol.

  • the first elbow knocked him out, the rest are building a worse coma or concussion lmfao

  • heh, indeed the most impressive knockout i've seen... crucifix, how often do you see that being used in mma seriously, really nice one!

  • feel free to stop it at anytime

  • @boognish1975 pigfucker.

  • The best knockout ever !

  • Yes it was i remember watching it live on payperview..To bad Frye beat him in the final.

  • If it hurts, it works :P

  • @serion1234 Well, I told you, if it worked it worked. But it did and I didn't. So in the end it didn't.

  • he had time to think about letting him tap out or knock him out!!!

    effective and beautifull! ^^

  • most brutal nokaut ever in mma !

  • good fight

  • that was not even a fight that was a punishment ^^

  • you know goddridge didnt knwo what to do from ths crucifix thing, he just nailed himi with elbows.,w e can all do that

  • @judopathoftruth

    it works doesn't it?

  • True, i wont lie about that

  • Comment removed

  • Raped

  • Holy Shit !!

  • ahahhahahahahha he got elbowned

  • haha that's a good one!

  • Fatality

  • Raided

  • this is the ufc i like now cagefighting is bullshit

  • i wonder if Herrera made a full recovery after that fight?

  • Gosh. I just started KSW. He never should of got up and taunted like that when he won. Show some respect.

  • Gary Goodridge was paid to wear a KSW gi for this fight - he was never a KSW stylist....just trained in a dojo prior to the fight and made an arrangement with the Dojo instructor.

  • yah I also dont know about crucifix positions coming from KSW lol.

  • And apparently that particular dojang had broken off from the World Kuk Sool Won organization. You can tell from the knockoff uniform, which isn't similar at all to the real kuk sool uniform.

I know the World KSW organization would never condone giving a 4th dahn to someone with no training.

It's too bad, it's given KSW a pretty bad name.

  • Comment removed

  • @lions4life1 he didn't taunt him.

  • could that be used nowdays? i think that kind of elbows aren't alowed today...

  • actually they are, elbows just cant come from north to south...these were like the ones anderson gave to lutter

  • @zmagoslav

they are, just very few.. no elbows to the back of the head, now side ways elbows...

  • raped

  • that guy got his ass embarrased in front of the world ! im sure your kids are gonna see that and get ragged on at school BITCH!

  • who the fuck are you

  • Comment removed

  • Nice crucifix by the way...

  • Old but gold

  • beautiful:)

  • the best ufc move ive seen

  • skraddypoo ur wrong dude. This guy train in kuk soon wong. They didnt just give him a black belt to represent Kuk sool.

  • I'm afraid they did =/

  • @cj6u4fu6 a kuk sool won school in canada where gary lived was going to send someone to the ufc, gary challenged the guy to a fight and beat him so they sent gary instead and claimed him as one of their own, when he didn't train any martial arts. they knew herrera always did a fireman's carry so the crucifix was the only thing gary learned.

  • @cj6u4fu6 he never trained in any martial art except boxing. Its been in several books on mma history. It c ommon knowledge.Same with kimo,he never trained in anything but they billed him as a tkd black belt.

  • Damn Gina...................

  • This isn't Kuk Sool Won. Goodridge said in an interview on Sherdog that a local Kuk Sool Won club gave him a black belt just so he could represent them at the UFC. Paul Herrera did a fireman's carry in the demo video that all the other fighters got to see, so Goodridge and two other guys made up this move the night before and hoped that Herrera would try the fireman's carry or a single-leg takedown again - which, luckily for Goodridge, he did. The rest is history.

  • Yeah, in the old days of UFC they wanted people who said they had legit credentials, even though a lot of them were just toughmen (Tank Abbott, Paul Varlens, etc.). The Kuk Sool Won people just gave him a 4th degree black belt and a gi. Luckily, Goodridge was athletic enough from him arm wrestling career that he beat his first 2 opponents.

  • You could call me "Big Daddy" when ya back dat ass up! lol
