Moving databases is expensive and as long as google, youtube, twitter ect. still have their servers in the US the intire world will be effected. Also alot of companies might want to adapt to the US standard in order to not lose the US visitors.

The only option is for the companies to move their servers to other countries, and that is expensive and they could lose the US market.
