  • thanks. the vinyl sells for 40-60 bucks. money i never had. i downloaded this off limewire. soulful hypontic sound.

  • I have this on vinyl and really love and appreciate it, love the background organ vibes...thanks for the post.

  • I heard this played on today's Democracy Now, loved it.

  • I heard it on there too!!! I figured on Youtube somebody would've posted it. Smooth song though.

  • This song was lost to me for 33 years. When I was a kid I used to play that record over and over in my mom's rent-control joint and imagine distant magical lands and far away princesses that yearned for my chivalry. A perfect escape from the rotten apple of the 1970's. Thanks for bringing all that warmth back into my soul.

  • So happy I found this...it is a great day when you find a sample so gorgeous. Rich Man is one of my fav rap songs and I love this reference.

  • I'm com, the bro Com Sense and when I don't got scratch I do feel tense....

  • cause without the money aint a damn thing funny

  • This is a great song. It was sampled by common "Chapter 13" is the track, really well done.

  • @saxamo Dude but don't forget about Brand Nu Live done by Dj Nu Mark, such a chill song that samples this incredible piece of music.

  • This track is awesome,awesome,awesome-

    Had to revisit-

    Thanks...

  • Nothing but the finest here, thanks for posting it! Got to get that record, regardless of cost!

  • mann can you post up more of archie .. i think the song is called sun coast.. or something verry nice,,, beautiful music...

  • If i could i'd post the entire album. Unfortunately this song is the only one I see available in cyberspace. And the LP (which ois not yet on CD to my knowledge) costs around 40-60 bucks.

  • I Got Another Song From This Album Posted On My Page. I Got This Whole Album, If Your On Soulseek I Can Hook You Up.

  • I've also posted a track from the LP... ;-)

  • you the man

  • Awesome!!

  • muzac!!!

  • No I don't have access to the unreleased material. The second album was with Bob Mann on guitar and Monty Waters on Alto. I do know they played opposite Tony Williams Lifetime with John Mclaughlin on one occasion. I have the first album and some other stuff from that fusion period that was never released.

  • That's my Dad on sax! Man he would have loved this...

  • For real?! What ever became of the band? Did he tell you?

  • They got a deal with Robert Stigwood out of London. He managed Eric Clapton and the Bee-Gees. Chess records was the label. Did 2 albums , the first released, but before the second one could be released. Chess was bought by the Rolling stones. A lot great music was never released. He got fed up with fusion, and shortly afterwards was playing with Charles Mingus in one of his last bands. The whole story is,well, long and incredible!

  • Very interesting stuff. I always like to know about obscure bands from the late 60s and 70s. So I take it you have no access to the vaults? Okay if you don't. The original vinyl retails for around 60 bucks. I downloaded this off LimeWire.

  • I'm another son of the band, my Dad is on Keys. I have the unreleased stuff.

  • get out! the obvious question is if you plan on releasing it. regardless, you pops did i fine job. seems art was much more free back then.

  • I'd definitely think about releasing it, although it would be fun to see if there is a real demand for it. This little discussion right here is quite amusing as is ;)

  • I know that demand dictates supply but if you're ever serious about it I got my money ready. LOL. Did you know how to play electric piano too?

  • Yeah, I play. He taught me to play the blues when I was 5yrs old. I've played in several bands (Most Notably "Tarpon Trees") over the years but nothing currently.

  • No shit, that's my cousin on bass (Tony Vece).

Do you have the unreleased second album? It's stellar!

  • I wish.

  • fantastic!

  • This is really nice!!

    ~Thanks!!

  • I fucking love this song. Bought the LP about a year ago. Awesome!

Hulk is a banging track also!

  • The LP was 60 friggin bucks. Thankfully, some of their best tracks are on comps.

  • got any more..Godd stuff..

  • finally somebody posted archie... thanks alot .. you got any more... nice... love it rosco...

  • Don't have anymore from them yet. Back in the day I used to spend a paycheck on records. Not anymore.
