i just heard this on the radio - i immedaitely went looking for it on youtube - thank you so much for posting - i am so sad that i have missed out on such an amazing era for music, thanks for the opportunity to have a taste of it - this is my 3rd repeat! xxxxx
I'm very glad you put this up and let me know you got it through limewire - I've tried getting it on limewire, but to no avail - I guess you're timing was right, I'll keep trying
This song was lost to me for 33 years. When I was a kid I used to play that record over and over in my mom's rent-control joint and imagine distant magical lands and far away princesses that yearned for my chivalry. A perfect escape from the rotten apple of the 1970's. Thanks for bringing all that warmth back into my soul.
If i could i'd post the entire album. Unfortunately this song is the only one I see available in cyberspace. And the LP (which ois not yet on CD to my knowledge) costs around 40-60 bucks.
No I don't have access to the unreleased material. The second album was with Bob Mann on guitar and Monty Waters on Alto. I do know they played opposite Tony Williams Lifetime with John Mclaughlin on one occasion. I have the first album and some other stuff from that fusion period that was never released.
They got a deal with Robert Stigwood out of London. He managed Eric Clapton and the Bee-Gees. Chess records was the label. Did 2 albums , the first released, but before the second one could be released. Chess was bought by the Rolling stones. A lot great music was never released. He got fed up with fusion, and shortly afterwards was playing with Charles Mingus in one of his last bands. The whole story is,well, long and incredible!
Very interesting stuff. I always like to know about obscure bands from the late 60s and 70s. So I take it you have no access to the vaults? Okay if you don't. The original vinyl retails for around 60 bucks. I downloaded this off LimeWire.
I'd definitely think about releasing it, although it would be fun to see if there is a real demand for it. This little discussion right here is quite amusing as is ;)
Yeah, I play. He taught me to play the blues when I was 5yrs old. I've played in several bands (Most Notably "Tarpon Trees") over the years but nothing currently.
J.Rocc put this on Syndromes 2, i melted hearing this...and still do

@CJtheCynic I've responded the same way to many songs from the late 60s-early 70s. Just an outstanding period for music.

get out! the obvious question is if you plan on releasing it. regardless, you pops did i fine job. seems art was much more free back then.
roscoegino 3 years ago
I'd definitely think about releasing it, although it would be fun to see if there is a real demand for it. This little discussion right here is quite amusing as is ;)
gberkowi 3 years ago
I know that demand dictates supply but if you're ever serious about it I got my money ready. LOL. Did you know how to play electric piano too?
roscoegino 3 years ago
Yeah, I play. He taught me to play the blues when I was 5yrs old. I've played in several bands (Most Notably "Tarpon Trees") over the years but nothing currently.
