Is this a regular length tie, or is it longer? Because I always end up with the part under the collar (where the tail goes) sticking out and it seems to be much shorter on my torso than it should be.
Wow I really like this. I tried it the other day and it came out looking really spiffy. I actually took a safety pin and tacked the little tab underneath my collar on the left side, it made it look extra sharp. No need to worry about pinholes on your tie since you never see the thin end anyway.
I don't mind calling this knot the "Eldredge" knot since I never really knew what to call it. You say you invented the knot, that I'd have to disagree. I too "came up" with this knot one day and fell for it's unique charm. But hey, as said, I'll call it the "Eldredge", sounds better than "ha ha ha heh... ya wanna know the name of this knot? ummm....phtt... nnn... *shrug* ".
@japoshi Well, that's just as with the lying game and playing dead game. Because they were invented in 2 places and neither did know that the other one existed. And Eldredge is a cool name for a knot.
i like this method alot, this and the ediety knot get alot of comments ladys love it and guys who only know how to tie the windsor and the four in hand feel like fools when you school them that there are a hell of alot more than 2 ways to tie a tie!
also just wanted to point out that your video is easy to follow and dosent confuse me guess the guy below me is easily confused
Heh, I'm the only guy in my family who knows how to tie any decent tie knot. But after I tie everyone else's tie for them I normally use this one just so I can look even cooler.

that End is still fail...the Eric Glennie - Braided Necktie Knot is better...check this out on the search bar...type ....Braided Necktie Knot

@ZySaj I'm familair with the Braided Knot.
1) It's not symmetrical. The folds don't overlap correctly.
2) The tail will always show behind the knot when you do this and it looks weird as hell.

@cwtrain True, true... Watched it, he fights with the knot incredibly long to get an assymetrical result? No, thank you, I vote for ELDREDGE!
AdamsTeinz 1 year ago
wow!! I'm perplexed. I'm so tying the Eldredge one, but I am not sure i've got guts to do it soon.

Seriously, don't show us how you used to do it and then actually do the motions for it then backtrack. That confuses the crap out of everyone.
