a good way to stop the violence is to open up community based security groups. for e.g, a neighborhood will hire a group of youths for securing its own perimeter. this way, u create employment opportunity, and ensure security. there will be no burden on the government since the youth groups will be payed by the community.

In the homelands there was still a loads of crime, just most never reported on because the police and government didn't care, Not to mention there was police brutality as well. Most of the inhumane things the police did was kept secret. Understand where there is poverty there is crime, crime is a by-product of poverty. Apartheid looked out for the white's ONLY.

if lack of education opportunity is a major reason poverty exists, then why not invest in education? the woman and other men in the video said that education and jobs are key to to decreasing crime. so why has the process to invest in education be so slow? what is the hold up? is south africa in debt? why are there not enough funds to address this problem, so much so that's it's gotten worse since this video was produced.
