@quekxl fruit and veg is the best for them, as well as pellets, hay and fresh grass. Fruit and veg will also help you eat better too as you can eat a bit when preparing it for them, ive got 5 guinea pigs but prepare for 6 so i eat one portion myself. it has proper improved my digestive system, no more stomach pains for me

Im a bit dissapointed now because untill you said Guinea pigs is NOT easy to handle! Because if you think their not, i think youre a bit young or just not ready to take care of a guinea pig. I've studied almost EVERY DAY, in 3 and a half year now, and i dont know how old you are, but Guinea Pigs is one of the best animals kids can have because they are very easy to handle, with help from parents BUT i really agree with you that you should'nt have a guinea pig before youre 12. Is your Piggie happy by itself? I heard that having a friend acompany her or him is great for them, as long as their is no breeding going on.... is that true. I might be getting one, but i think two would be too much for me to handle!!!!!! I dont want my animals dying on me!!!!! Any help? Oh and is it a good idea to adopt a piggie from PetSmart. @kassidyrose777 floor time ! They require 2-3 hours of time to run about each day and no the towels don't ruin because you wash them often and then after so long just replace

@Autumnmybaby4677 No, they are not good for guinea pigs. They cannot have seeds of any kind, and ignore the foods with seeds in them. If you do not have any other small animals and you don't know anyone with small animals besides pigs, you can give the treats to a local shelter where they are sure to be appreciated by rats, hamsters, etc... Sorry I'm not lilpetchannel, but I thought I could still give you some info. :)

@niro25587 The guinea pig most likely has wet tail. If you cannot get to a vet soon, use a medicine called dri-tail and keep the rear end as clean and as clear of crust as you can. I had two hamsters with wet-tail and the vet prescribed me with Baytril. I know what you're going through and this is a very serious disease, but if you do this the pig should be fine. My hasters recivered soon after the incident, but many others are not so lucky.

I just buy 4 large pieces of plexy glass and make a cage that way I also make the bottom floor there living/eating ground and the top there play area. I also add little  caves in my cage too if they feel like exploring. its pretty big cage about 9 feet long and 4 feet high..lol

@emznkayz15: A guinea pig at Pet's smart is about 30 dollars, the pet store cages for guinea pigs are like 159 bucks, i think. But people say you can't buy those cages. it's too small and it makes them depressed. The food is like 3-6 bucks for the hay and the food. Bedding is 6-12 bucks.Remember they only eat stuff like salad and they LOVE Green peppers. Don't feed them milk or they'll die, and it possible, get two piggy's so they have a playmates((:

Make sure u tell people that to maintain them monthy is about $40 an to start u will need over $300 cause ur right about a big cage an the toys, bedding, food and food tays, its a lot lol. I dont put Vc in their water, i just give my 2 guinea pigs 1 or 2 orange slices a day each, so they eat about 1 whole big orange a week an lots of veggies, I decided not to feed them lettuce an both do not like green peppers sadly.
