Beat this game x-mas night/following morning. Stayed up all night playing. Didn't have the VMU at the time, so I figured I'd the leave the system on, go the store (the day after x-mas. LOL) buy one and save it.

Well, couldn't just plug the VMU in and have it save, it had to be in before I started.

(but then I got to play again with the cool VMU beeping at me and making pictures. hah.)

P.S. For you youngins, VMU was a Visual Memory Unit, an awsome little save card for the Dreamcast.

In my humble opinion, death and swearing don't make a game better, UNLESS done properly, otherwise it comes off as childish (like swearing too much) or just a downer (like everyone dies). I agree, some of the games need to a bit mature to appeal to teens, but it has to be somewhere between Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog, darker than SA2 and lighter than Shadow the Hedgehog.

@115Starkey Imo, Shadow wasn't even that dark. All of the darker plot elements of ShTH were already in SA2 and nothing in Shadows comes close to Gerald going insane over Maria's death in his diary. Shadow just added guns and casual swearing, as far as storyline goes, SA2 was the darker game.

@ScrabbitTheRabbit I guess, sortof. But the actual gameplay, and mood for the game was dark throughout, not just the plot elements. The game was just out of the normal style of Sonic games and was a bit disenfranchising for most Sonic fans.

the diffrence is that its for gamecube and DX and directors cut is the same thing and also they added classic games from gamegear sonic 1 sonic drift and u can play as metal sonic when you get all 150 emblems

I was born the year Sonic came out, if they had aged him properly to fit the people who played him originally. (I was 3 when I first played it) then he should be swearing because it would be a game made for 17 year olds, how awesome would that be. People actually dieing and swearing. That's incorrect. None of them bought the rights, Sega became a third party developer, since they couldn't afford to create console's anymore. Now they just stick to making games for other companies. They still own the rights to Sonic and their other franchises.

Dreamcast wasn't as powerful, that was why the PS2 kicked its butt (unfortunately seeing as I had the dreamcast lol) That and the PS2 had a dvd player built in which at the time was really new technology which everyone wanted.
