He actually does play louder than a lot of pianists, but then he also has more power than a lot of pianists. If you want to see punch in his notes, listen to him play flight of the bumblebee...finger power. He still balances his volume well with the overall dynamic level.
He IS Russian, so is Arcadi Volodos. Two of the best. Not my favorites, just because of nationality though. I just listen for the quality. I also like Yundi Li, Yuja Wang, Valentina Lisitsa, etc.

He's such a complete pianist. That left hand has good punch, not just the right hand.

Delicate mozart = ugh. Kissin can russify it all he wants as far as im concerned.

His faster Mozart movements are electrifying, but I'm not sure I have an opinion on the rest.

It is Kissins emotional intelligence that sepperates him from other pianists; his technique is molded after this intellectual quality - that is what seppartes him from the common pianist who has trained in the best school with the best teachers, years after years, and that is what makes him a genius!

@SsteinwayS It isn't delicate enough! I think he play Mozart actually rather poorly, and I love his playing. I think Kremer is referring to that. Because Kremer plays Mozart wonderfully.
