  • Kronkrete jungle, what was the DVD called?

  • bought an old cartoon dvd at walmart for a buck...this was on it followed by a funny sexist one

  • Does anyone recall that at one time the "Yankees" were slave owners also. Secondly, Lincoln wasn't out to abolish slavery in the beginning. He told the south, no slave expansion into the western territories. Lastly, I find it funny how as with all wars, young men die for old men's petty bullshit. Those rebel soldiers didn't own slaves, rich men did. And we all know, rich men don't send their sons to die.

  • OH so the black people are drawn as monkeys, ofcourse

  • Considering that blacks weren't allowed to do much back in those days, the ignorance is about right. I mean, if you weren't taught much because of asshole owners, then how can you sound sophisticated or intelligent? And a white animal is getting along with a black animal, that is something positive, not negative. And as some have said previously, this is a tale of them escaping to freedom. Yes, they look like monkies, but you're missing the point of the storyline.

  • Im black and i cant help but wonder wats up wit da gay slave owner (This is still A pretty racist Cartoon

  • they were eating nothing but watermelons. they also made fun of the little black girls' hairstyles. it is kinda racist

  • Simon Legree, there, picked the wrong walrus to fuck with.

  • This is actually not as racist or offensive as other cartoons of the era. I agree with some of the posters that the "slave owner" lost this one and the "slaves" won. My problem with this is that it is racist, contrary to what other posters have said. If I were black I would have a big problem with the animation of the "slave" family, made to look like monkeys - even as a white person I have a problem with it.

  • If You want to see a racist cartoon on youtube, then type in it's mothafuckin ramadan charlie brown

  • Why can't these cartoon be on TV again? :((

  • this is racist have you notice the black was a fucking monkey

  • @biboy690

I did notice that the "fuckin'" monkey was black!

I also noticed that the white villains were portrayed as dogs and the little fat white girl was a hippopotamus....So what?!....maybe you missed that little point, you frickin' bigot!

  • Absolutely nothing racist about this.....NOTHING!!!

  • These are the same designs for the Animaniacs!

  • i'm so glad cartoons arn't this unentertaining anymore

  • wtf were is the racist thing about this?

its an old cartoon. it defenetly goes against slavery.. the slave owner was "killed" in the last scene and the slaves in some way ended up free..

and defenetly look racism in the dictionary. acartoon about how black people were treated in slavery times is not racist. if it is, why the fuck dont you ban history clases then?

  • @caripocho possibly the very last scene "were going back to dixie hooray hooray" Dixie is a name for the south, if they got to the north didn't have anyone whipping them they were free...but going back to dixie means goings back to the most racist part of america(accually fuck the union it's not america it's dixie)

  • @tyikiki101 I don't know about that. There's a whole lot more niggers and nigger lovers in the southern states then in the north. You can have your nigger infested "Dixie"

  • @tyikiki101 Southern theaters were all segregated in the 30's, as were some northern theaters. This wasn't made for either colored or white southern theaters, because the southern whites controlled the south and they hated, "Uncle Tom's Cabin." I think the drawing would not have appealed to "colored", as they were called then, northerners, but it hard to tell "Tin Pan Alley Cats" was made for and with several famous black jazz musicians support and the drawing is similar.

  • Racism - brought to you in black and white or in living color!

  • the wonderful golden age of cartoons.

  • Dagger3456 is wrong. Simon Lagree did the whipping in Uncle Tom's cabin, and in the book it killed Uncle Tom.

  • Sorry, I don't see the Racism. Unless you mean the Mexican whippin the coloreds. Poor white goofy is encased in ice, that's cruel. White marsh-mellow men pushed down a hill. Sorry, don't see it.

  • Oh, its definately racist. Uncle Tom's Cabin is not what this is about. Its part of the RESPONSE to the book by slave owners & supportes of slavery.

They loved to say that Stowe exaggerated - she didn't. They label blacks lazy & happy to serve masters, as they show the "real" Uncle Tom doing here. He's called "Sambo".

Slaves were whipped to death; eaten by dogs; raped by owners & held at gunpoint all their lives. This stuff just isn't funny, but it is racist. Its disgusting

  • The most popular book and play in the U.S for most of the second half of the 1800's was Uncle Tom's Cabin and the slaves that run away are the heroes. Eliza crosses the Ohio by jumping on ice flows.

They could not shade or use greys on characters until really well into color cartoons. Especially early on cartoon characters are often drawn with white facial bottoms and black tops, because it make the expressions pop.

This is not really a racist cartoon, just an ignorant audience.

  • @hhighwater Completely wrong-The Sambo archtype that these drawings are based on pre-date the civil war. It is like drawing "Little Women" as White Devils and than proclaiming it is not racist.

  • @lullabymo381

Flopsy was a character in the book Uncle Tom's Cabin. She was a little slave girl who had never know her parents and was more or less insane. She had a mess of hair. The book published in 1852 and was trying to end slavery. The Uncle Tom in the book was based on Jesus Christ according to Stowe. Plays more or less based on the book were very popular 1870-1920 and were far more racist than the book. This cartoon is clearly a parody of the Uncle Tom plays. Read the book then speak.

  • @hhighwater Nice Try. You should work on your reading first before tell someone to read a book. You said the cartoon wasn't racist because it was 1) a result of limited Animation technology of the day and because 2) it was based on Uncle Toms Cabin. And went as far as calling the Audience ignorant . Then I stated you were (and are) wrong because the racism stems from the cartoons usage of the Sambo Chararter which pre dates both the civil era and in Animation nor is it FOUND in Stowes work

  • @lullabymo381 Look the cartoon is a parody of the Uncle Tom plays. That is the basic truth. I would love to see your proof that "Sambo archtype," whatever that is, predates 1852.As far as why almost all cartoon characters prior to about 1933 were draw with black bodies and white faces, or if black faces very big white lips, it is the limitation of the paints and the film and, yes, people should look at how Mickey and Felix were drawn and why, before they start in with your kind of hate speech.

  • @hhighwater Hate speech?? nice try . Proof of 'Whatever' -It's called british national archives -THE ORIGINS OF SAMBO

One of the first representations of Sambo appeared in an 1808 short story by Edmund Botsford titled “Sambo and Toney: A Dialogue in Three Parts.” Much of the Sambo stereotype—subservient, ignorant, and linguistically challenged was presented in its full form in this early iteration." Same caricature is found after color is introduced in cartoons-look for SAMBO on VERY this site.

  • @lullabymo381 This is a US cartoon fool. And in 1852 most southern whites were wetting their pants out of fear of another Nat Turner. Stowe copied one of the characters in the book on F. Douglas, who no one ever called "subservient, ignorant or linguistically challenged". I deeply doubt anyone in the US ever read Botsford, but Stowe was mandatory reading for most northern students and the plays were at every county fair for 80 years.

  • @hhighwater The only fool here is the one playing stupid and it isn't me. You keep trying to hide behind it being a parody of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Once again the issue is the usage of the Sambo images A stereotype used all around the western world. Proof -Once again This very site has AMERICAN Cartoons entitled Sambo Based & drawn the same (in color) of the same era . Keep deflecting maybe if you spin hard and fast enough- you'll split an atom. As far as I'm concerned -the topic is over

  • @lullabymo381

Yes dear, but no it not from the same era, by the time Sambo came out they could render shades of grey in the characters as well as the background. The original Bosko is from this era. There were two versions of this cartoon produced with in a month of each other. I would guess one for the north and one for the south. Sambo too lovable for US racists. American racism was based on fear not laughter. That's why M.L.K. is honored more than any other American.

  • Peter Griffin: Now that's good old fashioned family racism! ^_^

  • Okay, two questions.

    1. When was this cartoon made in?

    2. Was this cartoon banned?

Don't worry, I'm not taking this out on any of you, I just really hate racism.

  • racism is great LOL

  • No it is NOT great! It's terrible! :(

  • Ok ok! There was some rasist filter. Like the episode of Betty Boop. If you just type Betty Boop, you could see it in the first pop up link of youtube. That's how popular it is. Beware watching, how they draw black people is, in opinion and by far, the most unintentionally scariest cartoon(s) I ever saw DX. It was banned for, they say, racist assumptions. Hmmm.... an assumption. I wonder how back in the day definitely racist would be considered.

  • @TVfan296 The studio that made Betty Boop got picketed by the Klan for "Bamboo Isle" and having Betty dance to black jazz musicians in "Minnie the Moocher" and "Snow White." Their cartoons were banned in much of the South. I have always suspected "Dancing on the Moon." was the Fleischer Bros. answer to the Klan. Yet then they did make some racist jokes in "Making Stars" and "Out of the Inkwell" was vile. Maybe the brothers buckled to pressure from Paramount?

  • cmon, this isnt racist...

its a tale about slaves running away from their master, and then when the master caught up to them, HE GOT HIS ASS KICKED! AND THE SLAVES WON!

about as positive a tale about dixie as possible!

there werent even any black stereotypes that they were making fun of. and the master and the slaves both looked the same.

  • its racist because they drew the slaves as monkeys, and it was placed in uncle toms cabin... the dude with the whip is uncle tom, beating his slaves

but yes, i see where you are coming from, that is just about the only racist part, its more about the civil rights movements than slavery i think...

  • da black peeps look likes monkeys

  • I know right, I had to keep saying they're black to recognize them. Then again, black people don't look like that at all.

  • Comment removed

  • elasticities?

    or ETHNICITIES?

  • Nuttin racist really, they portrayed the master as a dog. Dont really know how the rest were portrayed but its just teachin history.

  • wow this is cool that people can find old ass cartoons from way back when lol how did u find them?

  • the north pole is a creepy place..

  • Good job in finding this old footage. Maybe you can help? I think Harvey cartoons came up with this cartoon at the office. The character went to lunch and got drunk and went back to the office and kiss the secretary and demanded a raise from the boss. I love the old stuff.

  • The racist stereotypes in rap music are 100 times more offensive. Obama's preacher is worse than this.

  • The sad part is that they're not "stereotypes".

  • I think how they drew other races, like asians and blacks, besides white, back then is just wrong and racist. I understand that if the cartoonist gives a big, but not ridiculous, nose and lips to black people, but not like a clown/monkey freak! It gives the message that white people are the pretty people, much like today with models and magazines, or mostly anything. Then again, it was back then and there wasn't really that much of a racist filter.

  • lol @ the stereotypes our country use to feed youth

  • Its the changed version! Look for the origional version on here! Its called Uncle Tom and Little Eva Racist as hell!

  • how can u b racist within ur own race ie the human race lol this gets me all the time i don't c anything depicting anything i just ppl of all colors like a child does a child don't give a shit if he friend is chinese or latino or whatever who cares we r all monkeys who kinda act intellegent and supreme yet act primitive like with this issue and war 4 example lol watching this from a 3rd view how we r lol there r more stars plantes etc than grains of sands think outside the box yin yang

  • Who the hell taught you how to write? Have you ever heard of punctuation? Do you know how to write a coherent sentence? This is just one long sentence that makes you sound like a methhead.

  • yes, but he has some very valid points.

  • I can understand why some would be offended at this. But I still consider it art. It is what it is. A cartoon depicting stereotypes of black people. It's old. I'm black and I wouldn't want a cartoon like this playing on TV today. But I find it interesting. Like a history lesson..

  • why racist.?...the black people win in the end and slave owner is outsmarted.

  • racist because remids people of a very painful and hurtful memory when many people of ther race died.

their is somthing i donot understand why wod we insult because of their skin??

I belive all humans are born eqwal

and all shud be treted the same

  • agree 100%

  • uncle tom is my hero

  • WTF WAS RACIST IN THAT

  • Penguins in the North Pole is racist!

  • Penguins on acid like the creators

  • Wow... i'm not hung up on race, but i have to say that this is pretty got damn racist. Who ever believes this is not racists clearly has little knowledge of racism in American History. Very racist in orientation.

  • lol this is messed up

  • rare cartoon, a classic.

  • Uncle Tom's Cabin...by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

    Naturally with artistic license.

  • I didn't find this racist at all. The only real stereotypical character was the slave-master and he got his just deserts. I just don't get it I guess, I think implying this is racist means you're hung up on race.

  • how is that not racist? a black money dancing to music, them escaping to the "north" pole only to find no one wants them there, or theres no place for them there

  • I think people read far too much into it. It's about slaves escaping, they go to the North Pole, it's a scary place, the walrus helps them escape. At the end of the pic they're still in the North Pole. They're the heroes, they win. Slavery happened, it was very fresh in the memory when this was made. No sense denying it. In fact when this was made it was probably quite liberal of the cartoonists to depict the slave owners as the bad guys.

  • you probably right...guess i was thinking in todays way of thinking, not back then

  • It was alot different then ya know. This was made in 1932 just a few years after 'Birth of a Nation' depicted all Black Union soldiers as rapists and thieves and Klansmen as heroes. I have to say this cartoon really comes across as quite progressive to me, given the era.

  • Wow. Parts of this cartoon were quite out of the ordinary, perhaps better characterized as strange......

  • it wasnt all that racist, it portrayed the slave driver as the "bad guy". It still had the sterotyped faces of black ppl, and the drummin gon the teeth while he was singing, but that is what was expected back the, anything else would be like showing nudity on a childrens show today.

  • I agree with you, except for the sterotypical features, dialect, et al.. it wasn't racist. It portrayed the slaves fleeing from the slavemaster as the protagonists and the slaveowner as the antagonist.

  • Walrus' hate the white man.

  • damn racist walrus

  • Not exactly pixar quality is it.

  • i dont get it? someone explain plz

  • that seemed kinda anti racist. the guy with the whip got his.

  • Yes,and then at the end, they all ran after a chicken...Lol.mmk,yes.Very anti-racist.And when you think about it,all slavers got theirs, right after the civil war.

  • Even the African Americans who owned slaves?? idiot

  • Yes,even them.

    Moron.

Feel smart exchanging arguments over the internet?

Any bastard who's ever owned a slave.Has through one way or another, has been fucked over.

  • Huh?? How do you reach that conclusion? Every slave owner has been fucked over...okay. I don't think so. Many were successful and happy people. Try working for the freedom of slaves in the world today.

  • They weren't African Americans. They were Africans.

  • reminds of something that happened at work last summer. Some lady was embarrassed about referring to a black girl I worked with and she said something about her being african american and I had to take the opportunity to correct her and say that she was just african.

  • you "had" to? and you remember this? You're one of those people who are holding us back with your wierd hang-ups and obsession with 'not being racist'. You're the new kind of racist, and the public revulsion with people like you is actually creating racists.

  • no I don't think you understand what I mean. I didn't give a shit about not being racist and putting everyone in their place. This woman was really nervous about calling her an "African American" and she seemed really keen on not stepping on any toes. So "I had to" tell her she was just plain african so that I could see the look on her face when she didn't know how to react to the situation. I yukked it up after that. Does that maybe make me less of a neo-KKK nazi racitst?

  • Don't think so... the slaves were free but still subhuman and faced harder persecutions for centuries to come.

Only40 years ago Blacks wer able to attend school WITH whites, go to the cinema WITH whites, use the same bathrooms...

  • Islezeus, Only in certain areas of the south. I grew up in the west & Blacks went where they wanted.

  • Where exactly in the West and how old r you?

  • islezeus, California, Utah, & Oregon. Over 50.

  • Cute. You should look up "swing you sinners".

  • are they monkeys because everything else seem to be animals

  • were those monkeys

  • You can call them stereotypes, whatever. there is a lot of truth in them. These bring back memories of a better time. These are GREAT!! Thanks for posting them.

  • I' gona tell yall all some fact. Back tehn whites put that image out to try to seperate black from whites. By putting stereotypes like these in cartoons

  • By the spelling and grammar of some of the comments posted here, you should be more concerned with learning how to communicate in proper English. If not, you can never expect to be happy with what life brings you. You may even become one of society's sponges, having to live off of others (I.E. the Government) because you are not capable of making your life mean anything.

This country has not been perfect, and never will be. But, it's the best place in the world to live!!!

  • Why do its alway comes bick to spellin and grama when people tries to make day point? lol

I don't think someone is going to become a "sponge" just because they can't spell. Thats ridiculous. Why am I watching this? It stinks!

  • that´s what you think...

    -_-

  • In the words of Rodney King: Why don't we all try to get along?

No one owes anyone anything in this world. Except for a few lucky people that fall into wealth, we are only going to get the wealth that we think we deserve by studying, learning and earning.

In today's USA, anyone who can and will do their job correctly, efficently and with a good attitude can expect to be secure in their job and earn a good paycheck.

  • Hey dgroovie baby 123: CHECK YOUR "proper" SPELLING! YOU need to retype EFFICIENTLY. You must be black...

  • I don't mean to sound racist, and I certainly don't disagree with you, but that doesnt sound like a very special quote. I dont think being a criminal and getting beaten by a bunch of bad cops qualifies one as an expert in peace. It would be better to look at the other King, Dr. Martin Luther King, for inspiration.

  • From what I see, the "white man" in the cartoon got what he deserved in the end while the black family got their freedom. Is that so racist? oO;

  • whats so racist abotu it? i dont see anything wrong.

  • who ever said america in the land of oppurtunities is full of shit this whole country was built on a lie

  • Okay...that looked like it was going to have an *almost* happy ending.

Weird; weird and difficult to contextualize. Tough to picture watching a few of those every time you went to the movies.

  • White man society or ideas is to rob, steal, kill and take credit for things they had nothing to do with. As a REAL BLACK MAN I find these stupid ass cartoons to be racist, and the people who enjoy them as simple-mined devils that are enemies of the black race.

  • ... isit that racest in its self stating that "white man society" as a single or ideal. not sure wat u mean by that comment... looking at it it does look rather racested

  • Racism is power! All the images that are seen in this cartoon represents how many whites thought of Black people in this country. To say that this cartoon is not racist, is like saying what happen to the Jews during WWII never happen

  • I agree with you comment 100% on this right on point on the analysis they are in fact and in deeds devils who enjoy this. It is for this reason and many others that we Must do the progressive things that enable us to compete with those who have no regard for our people. We have to draw the line here

  • Stupid 'Coons

  • well im from the south and if i hear anybody bring this up im whooping there ass. we dont discuss shit like this where im from or yall ass will get beat

  • thrummer1953, are you stupid? or your mother was just stupid for having you! Of course the oldest fossils would be black since they were discovered in africa.

  • Gorillas or Negroes?

  • go to the North, you'll be safer there!

  • Detroit or New Orleans...Blacks are murdering Blacks...so many say just let them!

  • and whites are murdering whites, but no one says " just let them!" All human life is sacred, no matter what your skin color is.

  • In NC for every 1 white that's murdered by white, 20 Blacks are murdered by Blacks

  • and why do you think that is? And it has nothing to do with the color of their skin. It has to do with poverty, a society that does not encourage education and hope for African-Americans because of the color of their skin. The white man's society purposefully fails them.

  • African Americans have been free in America for many generations, free to better themselves. Have they choosen to better themselves? Think of all the other races who came from their countries with nothing yet prospered in America in their first generation here. America is rightfully called the land of oppertunity, and there are millions of handouts to help the impovrished (who abuse generosity). Basically, black people are failing themselves.

  • It has been 150 years since the emanicipation of slaves in America, but the white man has guaranteed the reverse by keeping the African-American in poverty, inadequate housing and economic opporutinity, and poor schooling. The white man has literally handed the guns, gangs, and drugs to the African-American community. And, might I might add, your observations sound like they came straight from a country club gated white community, get out more!

  • mm, well i am not from the usa, however i have study some aspects of afican-american life all the way through 2 todays centry. yer i drfo agree with you their is a large problem with under funding , in black communitys if u will, and other area's if you ask me. i fink thats where alot of the probelm starts with.

  • and since the white man has more control over funding, of course it would be easier to spend less on the African-American and encourage the African-American to have less since the white man owns the funds.

  • hahaha damnm whitee ppl :L, glad i am not 1 ..., 2 be honest i would just blame the white ppl it more of a socal probelm than that. i dnt just fink the whole probelm is lackin of fund, however it is a big part.

  • "White Mans society" encourages everyone to be educated. BLACK PEOPLE SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT BY THINKING EDUCATION AND BEING SMART IS A WHITE ATTRIBUTE, WHEN IN FACT ITS HUMAN.

  • The only thing white mans society encourages is that white people be encouraged to be educated, not the African-American. Now, I know a lot of well-educated African-Americans who do not attribute being educated with being "white," but they know society does not directly encourage them to be.

  • Poverty is only a symptom. Liberal's and their great society have destroyed the Black family and you look on Black's almost as you do pets...so sad

  • I am a liberal and I do not look at African-Americans as "pets" I look at them like people worthy of equal dignity, respect, and opportunity. And that is what I fight for in government participation & activity. That's better than hording opportunity for white people only rather than helping those who can't easily help themselves.

  • Great day...unless being a dog or a hippo is racist, where will this end?

If anything, all people fom the South should be offended...black and white...for this Uncle Tom's Cabin stereotype.

  • not that much wrong here. everybody looks funny.

  • Rip off of Uncle Tom's Cabin!

  • It's an OLD cartoon people...ok???? Oh, I'm a human being who just happens to be black.

  • even nature was against slavery!

  • really? then why did nature give us africans? the mind boggles!

  • First off blacks were here on this earth first. 2nd blacks were not put on this earth to be slaves.

  • ur fucking stupid

  • 211,just because the oldest fossilized skeletons found so far are from what is now Africa, doesn't mean they were Negroid.

  • im not going to flame you, however thrummer1953, all human life originated in the heart of Africa. Im not going to call them negroid, but we all came from the same place. So let's just say Africans were on this earth first, okay? But something tells me you may have a problem with that too. So with that, I am finished.

  • Jerzeeloni, Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't make them racist in any way. Quit looking for problems where none are evident.

  • Ok, i've learned in AP history: Down in Dixie was a song made from the South around the mid 1800's. it implied that blacks that ran away wanted to come back to good ol' Dixie (the south). now, notice i said HISTORY. this is an old cartoon, of course it has racism. if it was made nowadays, i would throw a fit, but it's NOT.

  • No racist stuff here, just history. Oh yeah, and if you all want to be apreciated, "LERN 2 SPEEL RAIT" I'm all for racist jokes (of ALL races, I'm Mexi... yes I call myself Mexi so what. I'm more mature than most people on here), we all have to laugh at ourselves.

  • Van Bueren cartoons were brutaly racist. I saw one where a rabbi tripped over his nose.Yikes!

  • I've seen that happen in real life. Kinda freaky.

  • what did u see in real life?

  • A rabbi trip over his nose.

  • our place in society... I guess as of the last few decades it's underneath your curious white women. It's just that self belief you jackasses have about such things that flings them into the arms of a strong black man. I don't love or hate this fact...I simply accept it as normal. XD

  • White women been falling into the arms of black men every since they got of the ship

  • True - but note that it's not *hot* white women. It's loose toothed heroin addicts with tracks up their arms. Black men are welcome to them!

  • And what black men cant be with a good looking white girl. Ever since the 18th century white girls have wanted to be with black men. No matter if they got tracks or not. Back in the day white girls would do some fuck up shit just to be with a black man

  • Pop,Most won't admit it ,but a black lady I used to know told me black men are afraid to eat pussy.Cowards!

  • So.....

    where's the racism?

  • mexicans are lazy

  • I'm not even mexican. But I know they are not lazy

  • They sleep in the middle of the day! C'mon! (oooh it's too hot we have to have a siesta). Please. Excuses.

  • moondog, your a dumbass.

  • no they are not that fucking racist you are lazy

  • What, are you a fag? O.K. your correct, I was wrong, so keep up on the black on black crime, young black men enjoy killing each other for some strange reason...maybe that is the thing to do. I love black on black crime...yeah a racist cartoon, niggers are racist against other niggers.

  • As a fellow Caucasian (as I assume you are), I am deeply ashamed that you would say such a thing. This is the reason almost every white is perceived to be racist. Those people such as "backwardk" create this prejudiced persona for others to use as a stereotype for all whites.

  • I assume by "traiter" you mean traitor. If you are going to insult me, please use proper English. You imply that you are a patriot by calling me a "liberal faggot," but heeding the Declaration of Independence makes me more of a patriot. It is stated within that all men are created equal regardless of race or ethnicity. However, you have the right to say whatever you wish according to our Constitution. It sickens me that you insist on abusing this by spewing racial insults. I pity your ignorance.

  • haha nice comeback theman081.

  • Thank you. Nothing pleases me more than to insult those pests by belittling them through insulting their intelligence.

  • you have to understand though theman081, alot of the posts like these are written by very young teenagers who like to cause problems. you just have to learn to spot them for what they are and ignore them, or give them a thumbs down. some people have nothing better to do.

  • Gotta say I dont see the racism.

  • True, Ira. True....

  • This one was originally relased as a Van Beuren "Aesop's Fable" in 1932, co-directed by John Foster & Harry Bailey. Keep in mind that the "racist" caricatures were perfectly acceptable to most movie audiences at the time.....

  • except those who were of other colors
