  • You don't use the newer harness! Swap all your old stuff and if you need to change a connector just use some solder and heat shrink to adapt the newer connector to your old harness. We put a F150 4.2 with windstar intake in our '98 mustang. removed all that drive by wire stuff and switched to a manual trans, used the old computer and new model injectors, the windstar fuel rail is problematic as it goes to the back firewall. make sure fuel rail is return style to match your car.

  • I think the problem U had with this swap is using the '99 Harness. DEFINITELY go with the '98 and swap over the sensors. Otherwise, it will never work right

  • hey man i see you finally got the split ort swap hooked up. sucks that its not working right, i could help you troubleshoot it if i was there but cant really look at it from the video. i still have my 6 but i have a cobra now too lol

  • I did the same swap... had to cut up my stock wiring and splice in the 01 stuff...Plus do u have full exhaust on it?? just me it needs it!!! On the plug wires,, use the 01 wire set.. Hope this helps..

  • yeah its got dual flowmasters w/ an x pype

    i used a 99 harness but its getting way to much fuel, i think the sensor on the throttle body is fucked. i also ported the heads way too much so its sounds terriblde.

    i just got a cheap 5.0 and i'm in the process of rebuilding it. i got a computer an a computer harness, just hope i can

    figure out all the wiring.

  • dude there is a better swap for that model tang i just did it dude just grab a windstars upper and lower intake just match the yrs up and ur good the only thing is the intake is so huge that ur gonna need a slightly bigger hood but the pick up is freakin amazing and the throttle body will relocated in the front

  • we still haven't found what the hell's wrong with it. there's so much shit that doesn't match up. i made a custom fuel rail. just look at, we used a garden hose for coolant and the 98 plug wires barely fit. if u do it u make sur u take LOTS of pictures and get a Haynes manual. u'll either have to get a 99 wiring harness or mod the 94 one. it's hard as fuck man...good luck

    i just decided to get a cheap 5.0 the 3.8 was gettin up there miles anyways

  • Make sur u do some research cause i had to use a 99 wiring harness an now my car doesn't run for shit,my SCT tune isn't helping either. I'm just gonna through a 5.0 in and be done
