I have a level 53 chanter atm (Obso) And im fucking loving it, im great at pvp! so many knockdowns and stuns and people can rarely get away from my because of it. My dps is great aswell! buffs, stun locks, knockdowns, ranged attacks, amazing heals! My favourite class, dont let anyone tell you its a shit class and its "gimped" in pvp because it isnt at all. Once you max crit and start using some hp for survivability, you are an almost unstoppable force! :D

my chanter is lv 38 about to be 39 and his 4k dp i just got but cant learn it until 40 its amazing its a aoe 400-500 damage knock back and forms a sheild around you for 4 secs i beileve so its role is a fighter/buffer/healer like what thejustinhit said its a very hard class to master but i love mine

yes they can both use staff but chanter would benefit more from a staff than Cleric would as Chanter is melee class.... Cleric is best with mace and shield which increases there survivablity as they have many more ranged attacks than melee ones, Clerics stack HP aswell and the shield and mace combo provide more slots for that, most I know have more HP than the tanks. imo clerics are epic against pretty much anything PvP. by the way im a 36 Chanter atm which I LOVE, cant wait for ranged stun

If you want to be main healer, but cleric. If you want to be an off-healer/buffer/DPS, be chanter.

Chanters are good at healing classes such as Sorcs, SM, Rangers, and Sins.

While the Clerics should concentrate on healing Tanks.

Chanters are multitasker, I feel they are more challenging to master.

Most classes play specifically one thing.

But the Chanter can do many!

Actually Chanters are buffers.

Chanters have good buffs but their healing ability isnt as good as clerics.

The good thing about Chanters is that they can buff/debuff people and they can fight as well.

Chanters is a support class, they got Mantras that works as auras around them that buffing everyone that stay in a 20m aura around the chanter. They got some buffs for them selves only, and some buffs that not is an aura for the group.

They Can wear Staves, or Mace and Shield... as a Chanter you can Chose Armor: Cloth, Leather or Chain. They got mostly melee skills, but some few heals.

They are the support class in Aion, you should always have one in the group! :D

I guess you could consider them the Shaman (WoW) of Aion.

They can do almost everything (dps, tank, heal, buffs) but aren't particularly amazing at any of them. They're main duty is to give support to the other members, like adding more heals when needed or taking damage when the rest of the party is low on health. Depending on what kind of armor and weapons you have and you're own playstyle, you can specialize in any one of those areas. That's just from what I've read and seen.

First off, don't compare them to WoW classes, there are too many classes in this game to put them into a WoW PoV. The best thing would just be to try them out and see what fits, they might seem similar to classes from WoW, but they're completely different in their own way.

gladiator is fury war is ur idea of bunching classes to wow

assasin is the same as rogue in the general but the play style of the game in a whole is different, so they obviously have that apart

ranger is a hybrid, more simular to the WAR shadow warrior class, balancing to range and having some what avarage melee, unlike wow where melee is jst to get bck to range

you have also insulted every spirit master by calling them a warlock, you'd best appologise :P hahaha, and chanter is a off tank btw :P

Assasin is a rogue yes,

Ranger is hunter,

Spiritmaster is warlock if you absolutly have to put it in wow classes.

Chanter is the one with buffs and a couple of heals,

Cleric is more like pally than priest since it has both shield n heavy armor but they heal the most out of all.

*Glads are two handed warriors

*Temps are 1handed/shield warriors

*Rangers are NOT hunters (they got no pets what so ever, rangers here are more like the archers from Lineage2)

*Chanter is a unique classe, a meele/buffer/support classe, with isnt the best on anything or worse(the closest thing to a pally).

*Sorc is same as wow's mage.

templay is the tank tank=defense

like in rl a tank can take a lot of hits and but its slow in returning lots of dmg but with high defense it will eventully win the fight

Never played WoW. But Templar is the main tank, gladiators do AoE damage and can off tank. Spirit masters are a pet class, dunno what WoW's warlocks do. Chanters are more buffers and damage than healers. they can heal but nowhere near as good as the priest.

Chanter wears chain has descent melee dps skills and has magic buffs... The templar is your tank the gladiator looks like your primary melee DPS / off tank.  Cleric is primary healer but trying to classify based on WoW is not right, you'll be sadly mistaken. Now clarifying it in D&D lingo, your gladiator is the barbarian, the templar is your meat shield, :P

Many Chanter melee skills have debuffs to the target's physical defenses, induction times, run/flight speed, etc. Great support class - buffs, debuffs, spot and maintenance heals, respectable dps.

Hehe During beta i dueled a templar and a gladiator on my Chanter and won both times. I have yet to face a cleric. I would think it be a pretty thought out fight due to both being able to heal.

cleric is a healing class and it's not made to own in pvp or pve -.- but it can kick some ass with some of debuffs it has.

Anyways the healing from cleric is awesome and chanteri s close but his buffs isnt so great but he uses scytche and staff and he is definetly most boring class in the beginning cause of lame boring spells/skills but he is awesome at high lvl.

Like all other games you wont have fun until higher levels and thats why people leave cause no fun from lvl 1.

from what i've gleaned i believe thats actually a staff Monkey, staff seems to be thier primary weapon. A friend played the Korean beta, he called the class almost a monk/buff class if that makes any sense...

Technically they can use a mace or a staff. But yes its a staff. Chanters cant use polearms due ot not having the polemarm skill. Chanters are like a whitemage/redmage in the sense of enspells / bard
